Chapter 1304: Conquering the Tasteless Bandit Leader

"Then you... must come back soon. I'll be waiting for you at home to marry me."

"Okay." He smiled and said, "Go back and get some sleep, and maybe I'll appear before you tomorrow."

"Yes, I believe you." She tiptoed and kissed his chin, then pushed him away with a heavy heart. "Then go quickly and come back soon."

He pulled her into his arms again, lowered his head and kissed her lips, whispering two words, "Wait for me."

He gently stroked her cheek again, then flew away on his sword.

Half an hour later, Zhiwei, who had been left behind, finally couldn't help but stand up from the stool. "Can you please stop sighing? I've heard you sigh thirty-two times already. My master has only been gone for a short while. It's not like he's not coming back!"

“Of course you wouldn’t understand, you little brat.” Feng Guang rested his chin on his hand, looked out the window, and sighed, “It really is true that a day apart feels like three autumns. Mo Qing has only been gone for a short while, but I feel like I haven’t seen him for hundreds of years.”

"Several hundred years?" Zhiwei scoffed. "If it really were several hundred years, you would have forgotten my master long ago."

A peanut was tossed at Zhiwei, and Fengguang curled her lip. "You little brat, you talk too much. Here, I'll give you some money. Go to the street and buy a skewer of candied hawthorns."

"If you want to eat it, why don't you go get it yourself?"

"Who promised Master they would take good care of me?"

"you!"

Feng Guang smiled, stuffed the money into his hand, and patted his head. "My dear Zhiwei, you must have been cooped up in the manor these past few days. Go out and have some fun. You can spend this money however you want."

If she weren't still injured, she would have gone out with him.

Zhiwei glanced at her, snorted, and turned to leave. "It's just candied hawthorns, you just wait."

"Kids are just kids, they're so funny." Feng Guang tilted her head and looked at the doorway, laughing. She opened the storybook out of boredom. She didn't know how much time had passed when the light dimmed and it seemed like it was already dark, but it wasn't even evening yet.

She looked up at the window, and it wasn't that it was dark; rather, the entire sky was covered by a thick curtain of water. Or, to be more precise, it was only the Xia residence that was covered.

Feng Guang immediately thought of that disgusting dragon. She ran outside, and all the servants stood still, their eyes filled with fear, which proved that they had not lost consciousness.

“Miss Xia, we meet again.” A hoarse, unpleasant voice rang out.

Feng Guang, who was about to go find her parents, turned around and saw a man with green scales covering his face. She took a step back. "It's you. Where is Mo Qing?"

“Mo Qing, of course I’m busy saving people.” The man in the form of a dragon laughed. “After all, there’s another body of mine fighting him outside the city. He thinks that I can’t be in two places after he cut off one of my heads? He really underestimates me.”

Hearing that Mo Qing was alright, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"You seem quite worried about him, Miss Xia. I have a question, and I wonder if you could answer it for me?"

She looked wary. "What?"

"If you had to choose between Mo Qing and 1,200 civilians to live, what would you choose?"

Feng Guang was stunned for a moment, then she heard her own voice say, "I will choose Mo Qing."

"This is truly an unexpected answer." Jiaolong laughed with pleasure. "I'm now giving Mo Qing the same question: the lives of 132 members of the Xia family and 1,200 civilians outside the city. He only has time to choose one to save. It's already so late, yet he hasn't come to your side. It seems he has already made his choice."

Fengguang's heart suddenly paused for a moment.
