The doctor sat down by the bedside, put on his stethoscope, and placed the stethoscope on Feng Guang's chest. Soon, he heard her rhythmic and steady heartbeat. For a long, long time, he did not say a word.
“Doctor…” Feng Guang glanced at his hands, which were fair, slender, and had distinct knuckles. She then looked up and blinked. “Your hands seem to be shaking.”
"Is that so?" He chuckled as he withdrew his hand. "Perhaps this is just your imagination."
When he looked at her and smiled, his obsidian-like eyes seemed to have a soft light, even softening the sunlight streaming in from the window.
Perhaps she was mistaken. Feng Guang watched him write something in the medical record book, and he smiled again, asking her, "After waking up, did you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
“No…” she shook her head honestly, “However, I seem to have forgotten some things. I don’t remember why I was hospitalized, or how long I slept.”
His hand holding the pen paused slightly, and his smiling eyes curved quietly, but the smile seemed to have disappeared, even though his voice was as gentle as ever, "This is normal, don't worry."
On the other side, Xia Chao and Wang Ci, who had been tense, finally relaxed a little.
“I’m not worried…” Feng Guang muttered softly. In her opinion, just like her mother said, it’s just something that’s unhappy, so just forget about it.
Seeing her muttering to herself with her head down, he smiled and said, "You've only just woken up. Although there haven't been any problems yet, you should still stay in the hospital for observation for two or three days."
“Okay.” Feng Guang nodded. “Anyway, you’re a doctor, so I’ll just listen to you.”
"I'm glad you said that." His thin lips curved slightly, a faint smile playing on them, much like the spring breeze in March, which soothed the cold ice and snow of winter.
Feng Guang couldn't help but stare at him blankly for a while. After a moment of mental blankness, she asked, "Doctor, is your surname Lu?"
She had just heard her mother call him Dr. Lu.
"Yes, my surname is Lu, and my given name is Chen."
"Dr. Lu." Feng Guang extended a hand, sincerely thanking him, "Thank you for curing me."
He glanced down at her hand, then slowly raised his own and took hers in his. His fingertips moved slightly as he gently enveloped her hand in his own, a very subtle gesture, no different from a normal, polite handshake.
Perhaps it was the scenery that created the illusion, but she seemed to be able to feel his burning body temperature spreading step by step from their clasped hands, and finally, like an electric current, it rushed into her heart.
He lowered his eyes and chuckled softly, "Whether the scenery can be revived depends primarily on yourself."
"I deserve credit, and you deserve credit too, so let's split it 50/50," she said with a grin, quickly pulling her hand away. Her palm seemed to still retain the warmth of his body, which made her feel uncomfortable all over.
She suddenly realized with astonishment that even just looking at this man's simple smile could evoke an indescribable feeling in her heart.
Of course, this feeling couldn't be disgust or aversion, but if it's not disgust or aversion, then what is it?
Feng Guang couldn't understand it, and his feelings became increasingly complicated at this moment.
