Chapter 1 Even if I don’t think of you, I will still fall in love with you 1

Section 1

From Geneva, it only takes one hour by train to reach Lahn, Switzerland.

The train runs along the shores of Lake Geneva, offering endless views.

It's a pity that it's snowing today. The wind is blowing hard and densely. Snowflakes are swirling in the air like cotton wool. The road is covered with white everywhere. The trees and street lights are all covered with snow, hiding their original appearance.

It was a bleak night, but the joyful music made it seem lively. There were many people walking on the streets, and the streets were decorated with red and green bells, elks, and bows.

Christmas is coming soon.

Zhou Jiuze came to Switzerland on a business trip. It is not surprising that people working in the media are traveling all year round. This year, the company has cooperated with a Swiss media group, and he came to negotiate the details on behalf of the company.

But Zhou Jiuze had been in Switzerland for a week and had only met the other party twice.

The Swiss have too many holidays, and they keep their private and public lives very separate. They never talk about work on their days off or after get off work.

As a result, Zhou Jiuze had a lot of free time. He would occasionally go to a bar near the hotel to kill time, order a glass of whiskey, and sit there for the whole evening.

Most of the bars in Switzerland are quiet bars. There are no ghosts or dancers dancing. They mainly play light music and are relatively quiet.

Zhou Jiuze likes this place because there is wine, music, popularity, and people know how to keep a proper distance from each other.

The night was too hazy and everyone knew they had to be careful.

Occasionally, when women came up to him to chat, Zhou Jiuze would smile at them apologetically and then extend his left hand - he had a ring on his left ring finger.

Of course it's just an excuse.

He didn't know why, but he was not interested in the love around him.

It seemed that since he was born, he felt that he was waiting for someone in the dark.

But who are you waiting for?

He himself didn't know it, and it just dragged on year after year.

Maybe there is no such person in the world.

Zhou Jiuze picked up the wine and smiled.

Then he bought drinks for everyone in the bar.

When the bartender announced the news, everyone cheered for Zhou Jiuze and thanked him from afar while holding up their wine bottles and glasses.

Zhou Jiuze also smiled, gestured with his wine glass, and then drank the wine in one gulp.

But even he himself did not notice that when he raised his head to drink, water drops from the glass fell and dripped onto his face like tears.

"Hey."

When he put his glass down, the bartender was standing at his table, smiling at him.

Zhou Jiuze remembered the bartender. She was very young and her name seemed to be Aimee. She was the only female bartender here.

"What's wrong?" Zhou Jiuze asked.

"Here's the bill." Aimee handed him the bill. "Would you like to pay by card or cash?"

"Card." He pulled out his wallet, placed the bank card and bill on her tray, and then pulled out a cash bill and placed it on top. It was a tip.

Aimee smiled and handed the money back to him, "I already received the tip."

Zhou Jiuze was puzzled, and when he saw her smiling, he asked, "Huh? Doesn't the 'everyone' you invited include me?"

Zhou Jiuze also smiled. He would blink subconsciously when he smiled. The teardrop mole under his right eye had an indescribable sexiness, and there were water droplets from the wine glass hanging there.

"Sorry, it's me..." He was choosing his words, "Am I being evasive?"

He wasn't sure if the word could be used here.

Aimee kept looking at him and smiling for a long time, looking like she wanted to say something, but in the end she said nothing and turned away politely: "Please wait a moment, I'll go and pay for you."

Zhou Jiuze knew that Aimee was Chinese on the first day he came to the bar. She was charming and gentle, with waist-length hair simply gathered behind her. Her face was not made up but was bright and attractive, with willow-shaped eyebrows, double phoenix eyes, and an oval face. She had the appearance of a perfect Chinese beauty, cold and aloof but with infinite charm.

But out of courtesy, Zhou Jiuze still communicated with her in English at first. But she saw that he spoke Chinese first: "Chinese?"

Zhou Jiuze nodded, then she smiled, picked up a few bottles of wine from behind the bar to mix them, and then brought him a glass of Black Storm.

"It's for you," she said.

The Black and Stormy is a classic cocktail made with dark rum, ginger beer, and lime, and is often refreshing.

Zhou Jiuze took a look, then smiled and pushed it away, "This wine is too young for me."

Aimee, who was about to walk back to the bar, heard his words and looked back at him with a hint of surprise in her eyes.

"You know cocktails?"

"A little bit."

Aimee walked back, held her chin, looked at him, then looked at the cup of Black Storm, and asked, "How much do you know?"

Zhou Jiuze thought for a moment and said, "I only understand a little bit."

Seeing that he refused to speak, Aimee frowned and pointed to the wine cabinet behind the bar. "See that bottle of whiskey? The fifth bottle in the third row, 1955 Glenfarclas. That's the owner's collection and not for sale."

She turned back to him and said, "If your explanation makes me happy, I'll secretly pour you a drink."

"Aren't you afraid of being fired?" Zhou Jiuze looked at the whiskey and thought that the 1955 Glenfarclas was indeed rare and no longer available on the market. This whiskey was aged for a full 50 years and had a rich and mellow taste, which was rare. He was a little tempted.

Zhou Jiuze looked at her and continued, "Or you have done this secretly many times."

Aimee shrugged. "The boss travels all year round anyway, so he doesn't come here more than once a year."

When she said this, she was like a cat stealing fish, with cunning eyes and a lazy face, as if she was not afraid of anything.

Zhou Jiuze thought for a moment and began, "The Black Storm is a blend of dark rum and ginger beer. Dark rum, also known as red rum, is a rum that has caramel added to it during production. It has a darker color and a mellower flavor, which further enhances the spicy flavor of the ginger. The Black Storm is a very popular and classic cocktail. Because it has a refreshing taste and doesn't easily make you drunk, it's also a favorite among most young people."

After he finished speaking, he clearly saw the surprise in Aimee's eyes, and then he slowly added: "Oh, by the way, people in the Caribbean drink this wine to treat colds, and it's very effective."

"An expert." Aimee paused for a moment, as if hesitating whether to continue asking what he did. But she was smart enough to stop at the right point.

So she didn't ask any more questions, but opened her hands and admitted that she lost.

"I'll go pour you a drink." She said and left, and after a while, another bartender brought Zhou Jiuze the glass of whiskey.

Although Zhou Jiuze didn't ask anything, the bartender explained to himself: "My name is Joe. Aimee is going to class. She is a student from nearby and works part-time here."

Zhou Jiuze nodded politely, but he was not actually interested.

But Joe continued to talk to himself, "Aimee has bet on this drink with many people, and this is the first time she has lost."

"Really?" Zhou Jiuze continued politely.

Joe still had some discerning eyes. Seeing that Zhou Jiuze had a dull expression and didn't want to talk more, he put down his wine and left.

"Please enjoy your meal."

"Thanks."

After delivering the drinks, Joe walked around to the staff lounge where Aimee was sitting there playing with her phone.

"Aimee, he doesn't seem interested in you." Joe asked curiously, "Do you like him?"

Aimee smiled and glanced up at Joe with a slight wink.

She said, "No, I'm attracted to him."
