The man behind the mayor nodded. "Okay."
In the dim light of the setting sun, Wen Li's profile flickered between light and shadow, exuding a cold and aloof air.
Liu Xi looked at him thoughtfully, her gaze wandering, as if she were thinking about something.
The group followed the man in silence.
Liang Congnan and Yang Lin were quite proactive, hoping to get some information out of the man named Asheng, but he didn't say a word the whole way.
Ah Sheng just looked at them with indifferent eyes, and with just that one glance, Liang Congnan shut his mouth.
Zuoshou Town is said to be a small town, but there are probably very few people. The houses along the road are sparse, and not many people are out and about.
Apart from them, they didn't encounter anyone else.
Liang Congnan inappropriately recalled the warning he received when he first entered the instance: Sleep.
At night, people usually fall into a deep sleep, but the people in this town all go into a deep sleep.
Thinking of this, Liang Congnan couldn't help but turn his head to look at Wen Li, who was a step behind. Wen Li was looking around the town's streets with a puzzled expression on his face.
Wen Li was indeed very puzzled at this moment. He felt like he had been here before.
A short while later, the man in front stopped in front of a house. "We're here."
Ah Sheng turned to look at the people behind him and said in a deep voice, "I'll bring you food later."
"Remember, no matter what happens outside at night, you must not go out. Only one person can stay in a room."
Liu Xi was already scared, and what's more, she was the only girl in the group, so she couldn't help but ask, "What if two people live together?"
Ah Sheng looked down at her, but his gaze seemed not to be on her at all; instead, it was focused on her jet-black hair.
"Well, who knows what will happen."
She has long, black hair and is very pretty, just like her.
But now, he has black hair too, just like her.
The man stared at her for a long time, his eyes filled with lust, as if he wanted to peel her scalp off. Liu Xi trembled and quickly moved to hide behind Yang Lin.
"You guys go in first, I'll come back later."
Watching the man's departing figure, Yang Lin frowned and pulled Liu Xi out from behind him. "Girl, didn't anyone tell you that you have to take responsibility for your own problems?"
Yang Lin wasn't in a good mood at the moment. If it were a normal dungeon, he would be somewhat interested in this sweet treat that was delivered to his door, and wouldn't mind protecting her a little.
But in this instance, he himself was barely able to survive, let alone have the mind to think about these things.
His expression was grim, and he looked fierce. Liu Xi suddenly remembered that he had killed the driver before, and she apologized to him tremblingly, "I'm sorry."
Seeing her pitiful appearance, Sun Yizhi felt sorry for her and said, "She's just scared."
Yang Lin chuckled and said nothing more.
Wen Li had long been impatient with these people. Fools often encounter more danger. He had originally wanted to join in the fun, but now he didn't really want to anymore.
He had no memory of the past and had been wandering in the endless dungeons for a long time, but this place felt strangely familiar.
Could he have been here before? Wen Li wondered to himself, his gaze sweeping over the surroundings of the house.
There weren't many houses nearby, only a few, but Wen Li noticed the house across the street with a bunch of red flowers in front of it.
The face looked somewhat familiar. Wen Li frowned slightly, then suddenly heard someone shout, "It's getting dark, we should go inside."
The place where they lived had a large but empty courtyard, and there was also a dry well.
"One room per person, choose for yourselves." After Liang Congnan finished speaking, he pulled Yang Lin and followed behind Wen Li, choosing a room near Wen Li's residence.
As for the other two, he ignored them and reminded Yang Lin, "Don't worry about those two. Let's get out of here first."
Yang Lin replied in a low voice, "Understood."
They had collaborated several times; Liang Congnan would devise the ideas, while Yang Lin would carry them out. They had always worked together very well.
Whether those two people are newcomers or not, and what they want to do, is none of their business.
Humans are selfish; in a life-or-death situation, they can only think of themselves.
The remaining Sun Yizhi and Liu Xi looked at each other, and Sun Yizhi smiled awkwardly, "Let's go choose a room."
He suddenly regretted his impulsiveness. He had only experienced one instance, and the blank slate he was in made him even more timid.
But now I've offended two elderly people. The remaining one doesn't seem like he'll help at all. Am I supposed to rely on myself from now on?
"Okay." Liu Xi nodded, then chose a room next to Liang Congnan's.
She was very fast; before Sun Yizhi could react, Liu Xi had already run over.
The man opened his mouth, but didn't say anything; she was probably very scared.
After selecting the room, Liang Congnan wanted to call them out to discuss matters, the most important being Wen Li.
But after all four of them stood in the courtyard, Wen Li remained inside the house and did not come out.
Yang Lin was about to knock on the door when Liang Congnan stopped him. "A wise man submits to circumstances," Liang said. "This instance is completely unpredictable, and we're relying on Wen Li anyway, so we should be more polite."
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and a familiar voice said, "Dinner's here."
Liang Congnan and Yang Lin didn't move. Yang Lin raised his hand, his eyes showing a threat, and only then did Sun Yizhi go to open the door.
Outside the door stood a man named Ah Sheng, carrying two baskets, one covered with a white cloth and the other with a piece of floral fabric.
The man was very tall, easily over 1.9 meters. Sun Yizhi stiffly looked up at him and said, "Thank you."
He assumed both baskets were for them, so he stretched out his hands, but didn't dare to take them, so he just stretched his hands straight out in front of him.
Ah Sheng then handed him one of the baskets and left without looking back.
After taking the basket, Sun Yizhi immediately turned and left through the door. The man's eyes were terrifying.
Why are you staring at his head? Is this dungeon going to be cannibalistic?
As soon as Sun Yizhi approached the group, Yang Lin angrily cursed, "Idiot, the door isn't closed."
"Close it later, or leave a little bit," Liang Congnan interrupted Sun Yizhi's answer.
Wen Li had already come out at some point and was now standing at the door looking outside.
Liang Congnan stepped forward and asked softly, "Did you find anything?"
No one answered.
Wen Li frowned slightly, staring intently at the house across the street.
The man named Ah Sheng did not leave immediately, but instead came to the door of the house across the street.
He first bent down to pick up the bouquet of flowers in front of the door, gently blew away the barely noticeable dust from the petals, and then knocked softly on the door.
One minute... two minutes...
The man waited a while before a sound came from behind the door. The moment the door opened, his heart softened.
"It's you. What brings you here?" Liu Yin smoothed her waist-length hair and looked up at the tall man in front of her.
