Chapter 42 Qiu Jiayou Extra 5

The woods were quiet except for the sound of a child crying.

There was something eerie about the atmosphere.

But Qiu Ruochu couldn't care less about any of that; he was crying his heart out.

"Hey, why are you crying?"

A voice suddenly rang out from behind him; it sounded like a child's voice.

Qiu Ruochu was startled. "You, who are you?"

He turned around and saw the appearance of the person who had come.

He was dressed in black and was very tall, but his face still looked like that of a child.

Qiu Ruochu looked at him with a hint of envy, "How old are you?"

"Me?" Yan Xi looked at the child in front of her and replied, "I'm eight years old."

"Eight years old?" Qiu Ruochu murmured, "I'm eight years old too, but you already look like an adult."

That's great.

Qiu Ruochu's voice was very low, but Yan Xi still heard it clearly.

He scratched his head and smiled somewhat embarrassedly.

"Because I look a lot like my father, and my mother often says that about me too."

Looking at the smiling face opposite her, Qiu Ruochu felt inexplicably disappointed.

"What's wrong?" Yan Xi asked, noticing the disappointment on the boy's face.

It's rare to meet someone his own age who isn't afraid of him, so Yan Xi wants to see if they can become good friends.

"Me." As soon as she opened her mouth, Qiu Ruochu's tears fell.

He sobbed, "I don't know where my mother is."

Yan Xi asked, somewhat puzzled, "Doesn't your father know?"

"He won't tell me."

"So, I want to go find her myself."

Yan Xi suddenly felt sorry for the child in front of her.

"Since your father won't tell you, then come with me."

"I'll take you to find my father. He's very capable and will definitely be able to help you find your mother."

Yan Xi patted his chest and assured Qiu Ruochu.

Perfect, I can live with him too.

Qiu Ruochu's eyes lit up. "Okay!"

"My name is Yan Xi, what's yours?" Yan Xi took Qiu Ruochu's hand and prepared to go find her father.

He was still very friendly to this new acquaintance.

After all, when he was in the Demonic Sect, his "infamous" reputation spread far and wide, and no one wanted to play with him.

Outside, children are afraid of him.

So even now, he doesn't have many good friends.

"My name is Qiu Ruochu."

The two had been walking in the woods for some time and hadn't come out yet.

Yan Xi was a little embarrassed because he didn't actually know the way.

Trying to ease the tension, he asked, "Do you know what your mother looks like?"

“I can have my Uncle Rong draw it, and then Father can have someone find it.”

Qiu Ruochu was taken aback by these words. "I...I don't know."

He lowered his head, his voice a little hoarse, "I've never seen my mother."

How do we find it? Yan Xi was also at a loss.

"But my mother left this for me."

Qiu Ruochu opened her palm, revealing a peculiarly shaped silver chain.

Yan Xi looked closely at the silver chain in his hand and felt it looked very familiar.

"But my mother has many such chains!"

He had indeed seen it.

His mother's dressing box was full of things like this, except that it had stones of different shapes hanging on it.

He and his sister had previously asked their mother for one; the stone shone brightly in the sunlight and was extremely beautiful.

So his sister liked it very much and wore it every day.

Qiu Ruochu's heart tightened. How could this be?

He had previously asked some shops that sell women's jewelry, and the owners all told him that they had never seen this style of silver chain.

How could it be so common?

He tentatively asked, "Could you take me to meet your mother?"

"I want to ask her where she bought this silver chain."

"Perhaps my mother also went to that place."

Yan Xi nodded. "Of course."

"Let me tell you, my mother is very beautiful."

...

Half an hour later.

The two hadn't left yet.

Yan Xi was a little worried that her newly acquainted friend might feel tired.

After all, he only reached my chest, he was a bit short, and his stamina was probably not good either.

"Would you like to rest for a while?" Yan Xi asked.

"Don't worry about us not being able to get out. My father will definitely come looking for me."

Qiu Ruochu was eager for an answer at that moment, so he shook his head and said, "It's okay, I'm not tired."

After walking for a short while, the two saw a tall figure standing in front of them.

Yan Xi was overjoyed when she saw this, and ran over to throw herself into the man's arms, crying, "Father!"

"You've come to see me!"

Yan Chenghong glanced helplessly at his son and picked him up.

"If I don't come looking for you now, where are you planning to run off to?"

The man was tall and had a stern face, but his voice was very gentle at this moment.

Qiu Ruochu watched as the man pulled Yan Xi into his arms, feeling a pang of envy.

Yan Xi pointed to Qiu Ruochu standing to the side, "Father, this is my new good friend."

"I promised to help him with something."

"Can I take him to our house first?"

Yan Chenghong turned his gaze to Qiu Ruochu.

The focus is on his face.

I feel like I've seen him somewhere before, but I can't quite place who he looks like.

However, Yan Chenghong wouldn't spoil his son's fun, so he said, "Okay."

Actually, they live quite a distance away from here, a long way off.

I wonder how Yan Xi managed to get through all that.

Yan Chenghong glared at him, making Yan Xi feel guilty.
