Chapter 165 The Love and Hate of a Courtesan (Twenty-Six)

Shi Lan was wearing a dark red Hu-style robe today. The thick satin was soaked through with bright red blood, but because the colors were similar, it was not very noticeable, so the soldiers did not pay attention and focused their attention on Yao Geluo and Liu Weng.

Ashina's attack wasn't particularly fast, but he was tall and his stride was almost equivalent to one and a half steps for others. So by the time the soldiers reacted, he was already only half a step away from Shi Lan.

Because of his earlier dodge, Yue Zhan was unable to stop Ashina's actions in time. Seeing the soldiers standing there, he hurriedly shouted orders to stop him.

The soldiers quickly formed a circle and attacked him, but Ashina was skilled in martial arts, strong, and experienced in fighting, so the soldiers were no match for him.

In just a few rounds, he kicked the soldiers away, and Shi Lan, pale-faced and with his arms crossed, stood two steps away.

Ashina's face was contorted with rage as he glared at her fiercely.

Shi Lan glanced at the fierce look in his eyes and smiled slightly. Her already fair and snow-white face, due to blood loss, appeared as warm and lustrous as a jade carving.

Ashina, however, wished he could tear her to shreds immediately.

It was this little wench who attracted this group of Tang people and caused his master's death.

Shi Lan removed her hand from the injury, took a slight step, and swung her arm to shield her chest.

Ashina's eyes flickered, as if hesitant.

Shi Lan quickly understood his thoughts.

The only person who could rival him here was Yue Zhan. At this moment, Yue Zhan was still two steps away from him. The soldiers surrounding him had all been beaten to the ground by him. In front of him was only a woman whose figure was swaying and who was so weak that she was about to faint. If he made a feint, he could rush into the inner room while he was dodging. The secret passage there would allow him to leave this place and roam freely in the vast sky.

Shi Lan glanced at the person to the side with a smile, "You want to avenge Liu Weng?"

The smile on her lips was smug, even tinged with sarcasm. "How ridiculous! He actually thought I would give up my comfortable life in the manor to go herding livestock with you savages!"

Shi Lan covered her mouth and glanced at him sideways, "See, this is the result of his gullibility."

Ashina's chest heaved violently. After a moment, he roared and swung his fists, launching a frenzied attack.

Shi Lan deftly dodged to the side, then bent over and flipped at the moment of his kick, avoiding his fierce flying kick, but a string of blood beads sprayed from her arm.

Ashina glanced down at the ground and knew that Shi Lan was seriously injured. He immediately changed his fighting style and threw punches at Shi Lan's arm repeatedly.

Shi Lan was completely powerless at this moment, and was no match for him. After narrowly dodging his punches twice, she began to stagger.

Ashina's eyes were filled with bloodlust and killing intent. Seeing that Shi Lan was not able to hold on, his movements became even faster than before.

Yue Zhan usually wanted to protect Shi Lan as much as possible, so how could he tolerate Ashina bullying Shi Lan like this? He immediately roared and kicked from behind, his killing intent chilling.

Ashina quickly stood up, and Yue Zhan's foot landed on the solid wood table next to him.

The table shattered into pieces with a crisp crack.

Ashina felt a tightness in his back and a chill run down his neck. He knew that the kick was aimed at his neck. If that force had landed, even if his neck was thicker than others, it would have broken.

Yue Zhan stopped and shielded Shi Lan behind him, his eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty red.

Ashina paused, feeling a chill run down his spine. This was the first time he had ever seen Yue Zhan look at him like he was looking at a dead man.

Ashina suddenly shouted, as if to encourage himself, clenched his fist as big as a bowl, and strode towards Yue Zhan.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out among the remaining soldiers guarding the Liu residence. Everyone hurriedly took half a step back, revealing a small area in the middle.

Yaogelu held a long, sharp wooden spike and waved it wildly back and forth.

The crowd surrounded him, and some clever ones cautiously approached him from behind, trying to capture him alive.

Yao Geluo appeared dazed, but in reality, he was extremely vigilant, and any slight approach from the crowd would provoke a fierce reaction from him.

Yue Zhan had previously said he wanted to capture and interrogate him, but the soldiers dared not harm him and were hesitant to act. They were unable to capture him several times, so the soldiers had no choice but to surround him and exhaust his energy. However, they did not notice that in the process of grabbing and dodging, they were getting closer and closer to the two people who were fighting fiercely, and even got so close that they surrounded the three of them.

Ashina was already no match for Yue Zhan, and his sneak attack on Shi Lan had angered Yue Zhan. His situation had reached the point where he could be captured or killed at the slightest mistake.

Yao Geluo moved haphazardly, his gaze constantly shifting as he stared at the soldiers.

The soldiers kept a close eye on him while also being wary of him, fearing that he might launch a sneak attack on Yue Zhan from the side.

Yaogelu chuckled nervously twice, then turned and stared blankly at his surroundings. Suddenly, he grabbed a wooden splinter and headed towards Ashinaza, who was closest to him.

Ashina never expected Yaogeluo to do this, and Yaogeluo pierced right through her waist.

Ashina screamed in pain and threw a punch. Yaogeluo immediately spat out blood, but laughed and used the force to pull out the wooden splinter, then plunged it into Ashina's neck, causing blood to splatter everywhere.

Ashina clutched his throat, making a gurgling sound, and collapsed to the ground without even struggling.

Using the force of his fall, Yao Geluo pulled out the wooden splinter again. This time, he ignored the soldiers and Yue Zhan, focusing his gaze on Shi Lan. His eyes flashed fiercely for a moment, and then he thrust the wooden splinter into Shi Lan's abdomen. As blood gushed out, he vigorously stirred the splinter before laughing and collapsing to the ground.

The soldiers rushed forward, trying to rescue him.

Yao Gelu chuckled, his mouth already overflowing with blood.
