Chapter 172 A Soft Girl Needs to Be Strong (Part 1) shuhaige.net

Back in the space, Shi Lan was in a bad mood, and Hao Ze's face was also gloomy.

"What? He's dead, and you're very sad?"

Before Shi Lan could speak, Hao Ze began to question her aggressively.

Shi Lan frowned, looked up at him, and disliked his direct probing of her inner thoughts.

When Haoze saw that she didn't speak, his aura changed. His usually cool and gentle eyes flashed with a dangerous aura, and a chill seemed to spread over him as if it were a tangible thing.

Shi Lan turned her head away, not wanting to argue with him. Her chest felt heavy and chaotic, and although she didn't know why, she didn't want to say anything at that moment.

The stone rolled on the platform with a gurgling sound, its turquoise color turning pitch black in an instant. Shi Lan looked at the dark outside and said calmly, "Send me to do a mission."

Perhaps only by keeping busy can I forget everything that happened.

Haoze pursed his lips, staring intently at her slender, straight back. With a flick of his sleeve, he sent her into the vortex.

Shi Lan gently closed her eyes, quietly waiting for the dizziness to end.

Unbeknownst to her, the moment she left, a figure suddenly appeared. Haoze looked at him, his eyes flashing with intense killing intent.

The man was stunned for a moment, looked around, and realized that the fluctuations that could resonate with his soul had disappeared before turning to look at Haoze.

"haven't seen you for a long time."

Haoze looked at him coldly, stretched out his palm, and clenched his fist.

The figure suddenly faded and shrank.

The man looked at his gradually changing form and smiled at Haoze, "Although I wouldn't exist without you, I still managed to win her heart before you did. Even if it was only for a moment, I'm satisfied."

Haoze frowned, looking at the light spot in his palm, as if he was about to clench it. Just then, Mingxiao forced his way in from outside the space and prostrated himself on the ground.

“My lord, please reconsider. Immortal Wanrou has let slip that some in the divine realm already know that Immortal Lan has not vanished and are now stirring up trouble. Immortal Lan’s condensation of her true form is imminent, but her most important stone heart has yet to be found. If you were to harm your soul at this time, all your efforts of the past ten thousand years would be in vain. I fear that without your protection, Immortal Lan may perish in an instant.”

Haoze lowered his eyes to look at Mingxiao. After a long while, he loosened his fingers and let the light spots float up and merge into his body.

His Lan'er, what should he do with her?

At this moment, Shi Lan, who had just entered the lower world, was experiencing a catastrophe. Swarms of insects rushed towards her as if they had been injected with chicken blood. Shi Lan stared blankly at the button with flashing lights in front of her, completely bewildered.

"Lan, the Zerg offensive is fierce. I suggest we split into two groups. You will provide cover in front, and I will wait for an opportunity to find a breakthrough."

The man's strong, clear voice in the headphones carried a solemn tone.

Shi Lan's eyes darted around, looking at the red, green, yellow, and blue lights, unable to decide which one to press. Then, one after another, ugly-looking things, resembling mantises but a million times uglier, rushed towards her from in front of the screen.

Shi Lan cried out in surprise and subconsciously pulled on the lever she had been holding since she woke up.

The thing she was riding in seemed to suddenly ascend into an elevator, rising up in a flash.

Only then did she notice that outside the window to her right, a round, metallic sphere was spitting out flames, and the huge insects were either killed or injured by the flames.

Shi Lan carefully pulled the lever she had just used to move closer to the ball, and then she heard the same male voice from before, "Well done, keep moving to attract their attention, I'll be done here soon."

Shi Lan looked at the sphere through the small window, glanced around at her own space, and realized that the outer protective layer was just like that sphere, which meant that this one was on her side.

Since her accomplice said so, she, who was still unclear about the situation, should just obediently follow their instructions.

With this thought in mind, Shi Lan pulled the lever, bobbing up and down, waiting for good news of a breakout to come from the other side.

About five seconds later, the man let out a low gasp. Shi Lan turned to look at the window, preparing to move closer to him, but the man suddenly fired at her. Shi Lan froze for a moment, and almost instinctively pulled the lever, narrowly avoiding the attack.

Shi Lan felt a cold sweat break out on her back. The man's deep voice rang in her ears again, "Thank you, Lan. Your sacrifice will not be in vain. The Alliance will always remember you."

Before the words were even finished, the silver ball flashed past the insects like a ray of light and disappeared into the distance.

Shi Lan cursed twice in anger, but there was nothing she could do. She had no choice but to pull the lever and crash into the bug. With a series of bangs, uneven marks appeared around the cockpit. Shi Lan vowed in her heart that as long as she got out of there alive, she would find this man and make him pay.

The insects were thrown back by her impact, but they quickly caught up and piled up on her, layer upon layer.

Shi Lan quickly pulled the lever, dragging the insects up and down, left and right, circling around. The insects were so confused by her that they didn't notice her and she found an opening and managed to break through.

The insects seemed to have intelligence as well, buzzing and hissing as they relentlessly chased after her.

Shi Lan stared at the icons on the screen, her mind blank. The situation didn't allow her to think too much, so she could only fly around aimlessly, hoping for the best.

After driving for an unknown amount of time, a dark ditch appeared before them, with a hole in the middle. Behind them were giant insects relentlessly pursuing them, and ahead lay an unknown black hole. Without a second thought, Shi Lan drove straight into that gaping maw.
