Chapter 224 The Grassroots Girl Who Cultivates Immortality (Part 1)

Shi Lan drifted into the vortex, glancing out of the corner of her eye at the palace maids frantically searching for the Imperial Concubine and the head lady-in-waiting. Shi Lan smiled slightly; she had already done everything she could for the original owner, and the rest was up to them.

After the dizziness subsided, Shi Lan's vision became blurry. She blinked and was surprised to find that the space was filled with mist. The aloof figure that she could once see at a glance was now faintly visible in the mist.

Shi Lan took two steps forward, wanting to get closer to him.

With his back to her, Haoze said in a cool and aloof tone, "Put the stone down, and I'll take you on your mission."

Shi Lan was taken aback, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

She had originally wanted to ask him how the original owner had switched bodies with that prince who died young, and who Pan Jinyue really was, but with his attitude, how could she bring herself to ask?

Haoze seemed to lack patience today. Seeing that Shi Lan did not move, he directly waved his sleeve and forcefully removed the stone from her palm, then sent her back into the vortex.

Shi Lan frowned and muttered in dissatisfaction, "Why are you like this?"

Haoze did not answer. He simply looked up at the space above and did not even glance back at her.

A wave of dizziness washed over her, and Shi Lan instinctively closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she found herself in a cave. A few steps away, a ball of light emitted a hazy glow, and a person was busy doing something at the entrance.

A moment later he turned and came to Shi Lan. Seeing that she was awake, he showed a hint of surprise on his face. "You woke up quite quickly."

Shi Lan frowned slightly. Although she didn't know who this person was, judging from his words and expression, something didn't seem right.

Sure enough, the man loosened his belt the next moment, revealing a wicked expression on his face, "It's good that you're awake, this makes it even more exciting."

Shi Lan's expression changed, and she hurriedly tried to get up, but was surprised to find that she was weak all over and her movements were as sluggish as an old woman on her deathbed.

The man threw off his outer garment, tugged at his inner clothes, and casually pushed her, easily knocking Shi Lan, who had just managed to sit up, back down.

Shi Lan stared wide-eyed at the man who was leaning in and pressing down on her, her fingers clenching slightly.

The man noticed her unfriendly expression, but just smiled and casually reached out to lift her up, making her lean against the wall, before taking off his inner garment and sitting cross-legged in front of her.

The man made a hand seal with his fingers and seemed to be chanting something, but his body completely blocked the way out.

At this moment, Shi Lan's limbs were weak, and the only thing she could move was the black nail that she had forgotten to return to Hao Ze, which was floating in her soul.

Shi Lan gritted her teeth and desperately tried to expel the nail from her mind by circulating her divine soul.

The man's eyelids twitched slightly, as if he were about to open them.

Shi Lan was in a panic and quickly urged the nail to strike the man's forehead.

The man seemed to sense something was wrong. He opened his eyes and saw something darting towards him with incredible speed. He instinctively tried to dodge, but failed.

The black nail seemed to pierce through a thin layer of paper, silently embedding itself into the man's brain.

The man's eyes were wide open, and his whole body was stiff. Apart from a trickle of blood slowly flowing from between his eyebrows, he did not make a sound.

The black nail pierced through the back of her head, came to Shi Lan, spun around her happily once, and then stopped between her eyebrows.

Shi Lan was taken aback. She wondered if it was just her imagination, but she felt as if the nail had come to life.

The nail had already disappeared before her eyes, and when it reappeared, it was already in her mind.

Shi Lan slowly pulled up her clothes, which the man had torn apart, glanced at him with disgust, and slowly climbed to the other side of the cave, closing her eyes to accept the original owner's memories.

The original owner, Shi Lan, was born in a remote mountain village. When she was five years old, the village chief sent her to the town and she came to the Yunmeng Sect with several other children who were also found to have spiritual roots.

Yunmeng Sect is located in a mountainous area, surrounded by mountains on three sides and bordered by a plain on the other. Although the town where the original owner lived was under the jurisdiction of Yunmeng Sect, it would take several days to get here by carriage.

The original owner was the youngest among the children, and Liu Minde, the son of the town mayor, took great care of her for reasons unknown.

Liu Minde was handsome and dignified. Although he was only eight years old, he always had a scholarly air about him because he had been sent to a private school by the town mayor since he was a child and had studied literature. This made him stand out among the children.

The older girls in the group would blush shyly whenever they saw him, and Liu Minde seemed particularly proud of this. But strangely, he didn't get close to these girls; instead, he was especially concerned about the original owner of this body.

The original owner was still clueless and didn't understand the meaning behind it. She just felt that the older sister traveling with her always bullied her for some reason, and each time Liu Minde protected her, allowing her to sit comfortably in a corner of the carriage and have a good meal.

A few days later, when the group arrived at Yunmeng Sect, the original owner of the body already regarded Liu Minde as her own brother.

Entering a sect requires testing one's spiritual root level to distinguish between inner and outer sects. The original owner had five spiritual roots, the worst type, and was assigned to the outer sect. Liu Minde had three spiritual roots, and his fire attribute was particularly high, so he went to the inner sect.

As their separation was imminent, the original owner was very reluctant to part with her kind older brother, Liu Minde, so he told her that he would visit her often.

The original owner was naturally very happy.

Four years have passed in the blink of an eye. The original owner of this body has gone from a complete novice who knows nothing about cultivation to the second level of Qi Refining. According to the rules, she can no longer rely on doing odd jobs to receive her daily rations.

At this moment, Liu Minde found her and told her that he had been taken into seclusion by his master after entering the inner sect, and had only been released yesterday. He came to see her today.

The original owner had been staying in the outer courtyard for many years. Although life was hard, the environment was simple and the mind was still very pure.

She believed Liu Minde without a doubt what he said.

After chatting with her for a while, Liu Minde asked her how her cultivation was going. When he learned that she had reached the second level, he encouraged her to go hunting in the wild. He also said that he could help her exchange the materials she hunted for spirit stones so that she could buy Qi-Nourishing Pills to speed up her cultivation.
