Shi Lan was no stranger to this feeling; she had experienced it when she received the original owner's memories.
The force was applied and then immediately withdrawn, clearly indicating that she did not want others to discover her actions. Shi Lan already knew who the mastermind was, and she was not about to let her escape. With a slight turn of her wrist, she grabbed with lightning speed, and that body heat fell into her fingertips in an instant.
Her body lunged forward due to inertia, but Shi Lan pulled her away with her arm, dissipating the force of her struggles. With a leap, she rushed even faster towards the densely packed area of zombies.
Two muffled thuds followed. Shi Lan felt a sharp pain in her arm as she hit the ground first, and the cleaver slipped from her hand and clattered to the ground.
Half a step away, the zombies gathered around. Shi Lan rolled lazily on the ground, grabbed a machete, and cleaved the head of the first zombie that approached. A stream of milky white liquid spurted out, and a shrill howl like a night owl came from behind her.
"Help!"
Shi Lan smiled and thought to herself, "You reap what you sow." She quickly slipped away from the horde of zombies whose attention had been drawn by the screams.
Guo Dabao noticed something strange near the car door while in the car, and when he turned around, he heard Liu Hui's scream.
Guo Dabao always cherished Liu Hui, so he naturally rushed out when he heard her cry for help.
Liu Hui screamed and shuffled on the ground in terror, cursing inwardly why those filthy zombies weren't targeting Shi Lan, but were only interested in her.
Guo Dabao leaped into the horde of zombies, slaying one with half a face and half an arm missing, and another with intact limbs but no head. His tall body stood like a solid wall, firmly blocking Liu Hui's path.
Liu Hui was stunned and wanted to speak, but another zombie roared and stretched out its claws. Liu Hui was terrified and couldn't help but let out another deafening scream, which even drowned out the roar of the car.
A meter away, the zombies that were still attacking the car suddenly stopped and turned to gather around Guo Dabao and Liu Hui, who were trapped on the ground.
Minghao cursed under his breath, grabbed his long knife, and, suppressing the emptiness in his body, got out of the car and attacked the zombies.
Shen Chen frowned and followed.
Two meters away, Shi Lan, hiding behind the car, watched as the number of zombies surrounding them dwindled, but the coldness in her eyes grew ever stronger.
The number of people attacking this time was even greater than the one the original owner had encountered. Back then, they had already awakened their superpowers and were much stronger in combat than they are now. However, the original owner died, while Liu Hui now has a chance to live.
Seeing that the number of zombies attacking them was decreasing, Shi Lan snorted coldly.
Her actions just now put them in a tough fight. If Liu Hui is alive, she will definitely keep attacking them. Right now, her fighting strength is obviously insufficient. Once she has mastered her body training, she will see who can protect this poisonous woman!
Ahead lay a relatively empty road. Having made up her mind, Shi Lan turned and plunged into the rippling reeds.
After walking for about half an hour, the small building with its staggered washrooms came into view. Shi Lan chose a relatively clean and tidy one and went inside.
After dealing with the two zombies trapped in the yard, Shi Lan went to the kitchen to put the food away in one place.
Although this area has been incorporated into the town's jurisdiction, it is still considered a rural area. Residents mainly use stoves for cooking. Shi Lan lit the stove with ease, first making herself a decent lunch, and then steaming six trays of buns before turning off the fire.
A wisp of smoke rose into the air and then dissipated in an instant. Shi Lan stood in the courtyard, looking up at the chimney. Only after confirming that no more smoke was coming out did she carry the steamed buns into the house.
Night fell, and low-hanging dark clouds covered the sky. The few stars struggled to appear, but were eventually hidden behind them, never to peek out again.
A Land Rover roared up to the unremarkable house. The window slowly rolled down, and a man with a beard looked up and peered in for a moment. Then someone got out of the back seat, peeked through the crack in the door, and said, "Brother, there are no zombies inside."
The bearded man nodded and said, "Go in and open the door. Stay here for the night."
The man nodded, leaped, and deftly pushed off with his leather boots, nimbly jumping over the obstacle.
The leather boots landed on the smooth cement ground with a dull thud.
Inside the room, Shi Lan, whose clothes were soaked with sweat, paused and slowly withdrew her hands and feet. She carefully leaned against the window, where a figure was moving the latch.
As he pulled the door open, the roar of the car pierced his eardrums.
The car stopped in the yard, and four figures got out of the car one after another, making a total of five people including the one from before.
Shi Lan frowned, puzzled as to why they had chosen her room out of so many, but she quickly erased all traces of someone having lived in the room.
The visitors seemed to have already worked together seamlessly. One of them quickly went to check the kitchen and came out carrying rice and flour, while another went to the side, where the owner of the place was resting.
Shi Lan discovered the zombies there, and because she disliked the smell, she stayed in the production workshop for a few nights.
Two other people went directly to the door of the room where Shi Lan was. After listening for a moment and finding no movement, they roughly kicked the door open and walked in.
Using the sound of the two walking, Shi Lan turned around lightly, and like a fluttering butterfly, she gracefully flew to the corner of the wall, hiding in the shadows like a gecko.
The newcomer "felt" something, rubbed it a couple of times, and emitted a wisp of fire.
Looking around, one person called out to the back, "There's no one here." The other person went back to the car and pulled the person who had been standing there over.
The bearded man walked out of the house where his master lived and said strangely, "There is bloodstains at the door, but no one is inside."
