Shi Lan buried her head in Mo Yun's chest, her heart pounding rapidly in her ears. Shi Lan's cheeks flushed, and she suddenly felt a little embarrassed.
Actually, what I said just now was just a casual remark. There might have been some truth to it, but it wasn't what Mo Yun thought at all.
Shi Lan was breathing heavily. Mo Yun seemed particularly excited. Only then did Shi Lan realize that he was a strong and powerful man. Her arms and chest ached from the pressure.
Shi Lan gritted her teeth and endured it for a while, but still couldn't help but whisper, "It hurts."
Mo Yun then realized that he had used too much force and quickly let go. However, he was reluctant to let go completely, so he pressed on her shoulders and followed Shi Lan's downcast gaze with his eyes.
"My wife, I am so happy," Shi Lan said, her cheeks flushed. Mo Yun had never seen her so shy except on their wedding day.
Mo Yun couldn't help but hug her again, but this time he was careful with his strength so that Shi Lan wouldn't feel uncomfortable.
Outside, Aunt Wang listened to the sounds inside and felt very gratified. She turned to look at the old man who was silently feeding the horses and suddenly remembered how excited he was when she agreed to his marriage proposal.
She is in no way inferior to the master.
After lunch, Mo Yun ignored Zhou Yuxiu's mournful and expectant gaze and left with Shi Lan.
The sun was blazing, and Shi Lan was too lazy to move, but Mo Yun was in high spirits.
After leaving the village, Mo Yun pulled Shi Lan up the mountain. After walking for a while, they suddenly turned to a shady spot. Not far ahead, they heard the sound of flowing water. Soon, the two arrived at a stream.
Mo Yun stood beside a tall tree and said, "Lan Niang, do you remember this place?"
Shi Lan looked blankly at Mo Yun. The memories she received this time were just pictures, and what she saw were things that the original owner had a deep impression of. She had never seen the part that Mo Yun asked about in the original owner's picture, so of course she didn't know it.
Seeing that she didn't answer, Mo Yun's eyes dimmed slightly, but they quickly brightened again as he gently reminded her, "Ten years ago, you saved a boy here. Do you remember?"
Shi Lan pursed her lips. She wasn't stupid. Even if she didn't have that memory, she knew that the boy must be Mo Yun.
Mo Yun stepped forward and said, "I was terrified back then. You were also very scared, but you bravely chased away the wild beasts." He gently put his arm around Shi Lan's shoulder and said, "From that moment on, I made up my mind to work hard and never be the coward you described. So I joined the army as the clan wished. But I was worried about my mother and worried that you would marry someone else after I left. So I married you when you were in trouble."
His voice gradually lowered, sounding very heavy, "I'm sorry. Later in the army, I kept regretting it. I was afraid that something might happen to me, and you were still so young, I..." As he spoke, he couldn't help but choke up.
Shi Lan turned around, put her arms around his slender waist, and whispered, "It's all in the past. Now that you're back, that's the greatest compensation for me."
Mo Yunhui hugged her, burying his head in her dark hair, his unspoken words reduced to muffled "hmm".
Back home, Shi Lan noticed that Mo Yun had become much more amiable, not in his actions or words, but in his demeanor. She could feel that his gaze was so gentle it could melt hearts. Whenever she looked at him, he would not deliberately look away, but would meet her gaze and let her know that he was looking at her. Every time this happened, Shi Lan could not bear his gaze and would blush as she looked away.
Mo Yun would then smile faintly.
When Shi Lan occasionally turned around and saw him like this, she felt annoyed. She never expected that the usually aloof and indifferent Haoze God would be so silly and foolish. However, when she thought that he was being silly because of her, Shi Lan felt a strange mix of emotions.
There were feelings of joy, worry, elation, and self-blame.
Kaixin naturally found it amusing to see him like this, but she was also worried about his repercussions once he regained consciousness. However, being able to gain the favor of the Divine Lord, even if only briefly, still made her little heart pound wildly. But thinking that he had become like this because of her, Shi Lan wanted to blame herself for her past foolishness.
Shi Lan was immersed in this mood every day, and three days passed without her realizing it.
It wasn't until her sixth aunt arrived that Shi Lan remembered Zhou Yuxiu, who hadn't made a sound in the east wing.
Strangely enough, ever since that conversation at noon that day, except when Mo Yun was home and she came out to eat, she stayed indoors the rest of the time, and no one knew what she was doing.
They warmly welcomed Aunt Liu into the house, and after serving her tea, Aunt Liu's face showed distress. "Yun Ya's family, it seems that this marriage with the Yuan family can't go through."
Hearing this answer, Shi Lan was not surprised. The original owner did not have a clear understanding of Yuan's mother's true nature. She only knew that Yuan's mother valued money, but she did not know the effort that a widow like Yuan's mother had to put into raising a child. Perhaps she once sincerely hoped that her son could become successful, and she still does now. However, with the accumulation of time and the praise and envy of those around her, her ambitions have grown, and she wants more. This can be seen from her reluctance to arrange a marriage for Yuan Lang.
However, this is good. Now that she has received confirmation, she can start working on buying the courtyard. However, getting Mo Yun's agreement is a bit difficult. She wonders if he will be angry with her because of this.
Thinking of Mo Yun's anger, Shi Lan couldn't help but frown. To be honest, their atmosphere was just right right now, and she didn't want to ruin it for the time being.
Seeing her frown, Aunt Liu remembered what she had said before and said, "Yun Ya's family, listen to your aunt's advice, you should send her away. This little girl is too ambitious, and a family like ours can't help her."
