After being tossed and turned countless times by Zhu Yi like a pancake, Shi Lan collapsed into the soft bedding, too exhausted to even move a finger.
Zhu Yi gently stroked her cheek, softly kissed her bitten, rosy lips, and whispered, "I'm sorry, Lan'er, you're just too tempting, I couldn't resist..."
Shi Lan's face flushed, and she glared at the man whose cheeks were still flushed and whose forehead was covered in sweat.
Zhu Yi, or rather Haoze, had a hint of nervousness on his face. After waiting quietly for a while, he seemed unable to withstand such a gaze. He lowered his head and kissed her from her forehead to the corner of her lips in a coaxing manner before raising his head and carefully saying, "Once I recover, we will hold a dual cultivation celebration, okay?" He gently stroked her smooth and delicate shoulders. Although his eyebrows and eyes were gentle, there was an unusually cold and stern feeling in them: "From now on, even if I give up the position of God Lord, I will protect you."
Shi Lan breathed softly. Perhaps it was the first time she had heard him make such a straightforward promise. Shi Lan's heart skipped a beat, and a faint sense of joy crept into her heart.
Shi Lan was momentarily stunned, and when she came to her senses, she saw Hao Ze putting on his clothes and getting up.
Where are you going?
Shi Lan struggled to sit up and asked.
Haoze tied his belt, bent down and kissed her, saying, "I'll go take care of what needs to be done and come right back."
Shi Lan threw off the covers, wanting to follow, but as soon as her feet touched the ground, she suddenly went limp. If Haoze hadn't noticed in time and caught her, she would have fallen to the ground in a disheveled state.
Haoze gently put her back in bed, tucked her in, and soothed her tenderly, "Stay here quietly, I'll be back as soon as possible."
Shi Lan clutched his clothes, her pale fingers clenching tightly.
Haoze struggled for a moment, but ultimately couldn't bear to disobey her. He could only sigh helplessly, help her get dressed, and carry her out of Beining Garden.
It was still dark and the courtyard was completely silent. The two hurried along and arrived at a long-abandoned greenhouse.
The two servants standing by the door, with their keen sense of observation, brought over a stool.
Haoze placed Shi Lan on the stool, considerately helping her to lean back, then turned around, took a few steps to the door, and kicked it open.
A strange smell wafted out from the open door. The two servants quickly stood shoulder to shoulder behind Haoze to block out the chaotic scene inside, afraid that Shi Lan might accidentally see it.
Haoze paused for a moment, and Shi Lan, unaware of his expression, only heard his voice, which was so cold it could freeze flowers: "Find a place to deal with those three, then carry Miss Biao back to Zhiping Courtyard. Have the steward inform the madam and arrange for her to leave as soon as possible."
The servant obeyed and went inside.
Haoze turned and walked towards her, his tall figure radiating golden light. When he embraced her, his body had already become mostly ethereal.
Shi Lan reluctantly touched his cheek.
Haoze gently kissed the corner of her lips, whispered something, and then transformed into a halo of light that shot straight into the sky.
The surroundings changed. Shi Lan was not in good condition at the moment. She only half-closed her eyelids and silently recalled what he had almost whispered. Her eyes and brows were full of smiles.
When she opened her eyes again, she found herself leaning against a flat, large rock, with extremely thin white mist floating around her. This made Shi Lan feel somewhat disoriented, as if she had returned to the space.
A soft sound of water suddenly brushed past her ears. Shi Lan looked in the direction of the sound and saw an extremely clear lake. Large swathes of lotus flowers were in full bloom, their beauty captivating. The emerald green lotus leaves swayed gently, and a few drops of water rippled on the leaves, causing the clear water to ripple and gently lapping against the large rocks. A thin mist floated on the water, rising and falling with the lake's current, creating a scene that seemed otherworldly.
Shi Lan turned around and circled around, only to find strangely that there was no one here, nor any other creatures. To avoid being caught off guard, she immediately closed her eyes, but was surprised to find that this body had no memories at all. Shi Lan was very puzzled, so she simply opened her eyes and looked at the mist above her head. Her thoughts unconsciously drifted to Hao Ze, whom she had just parted from, and the "I love you" he had whispered to her.
Her heart felt somewhat full, and an indescribable feeling made her feel listless. Her unusually cheerful mood made her want to laugh out loud, but she didn't want anyone to know.
Turning her head to look at the empty lake, she curled up into a ball, her eyes crinkling, her lips pursed, and she smiled secretly, like a mouse that had stolen some oil and was secretly pleased with itself.
Suddenly, a sharp gaze through the hazy mist alerted her. Turning her head, she saw a tall, upright man striding towards her.
Shi Lan quickly sat up, her legs curled up, her fingers slightly clenched, secretly on guard.
A figure emerged from the thin mist and approached, its features gradually becoming clearer, as if carved by a knife and axe. Shi Lan was slightly taken aback. "Haoze?"
As soon as she finished speaking, her face flushed. Seeing him reminded her of the chaotic night that had just passed and the words that still echoed in her ears, which made her feel a strange shyness.
Seeing her shy demeanor, Haoze's usually relaxed brows furrowed instantly, and his eyes turned icy cold: "Now that you've entered my cave, you should know your place. Don't always run around like that, making Lan'er worry about you."
Shi Lan was stunned. She had never been scolded by him so harshly before, and her face immediately turned from red to white.
A figure rushed up from behind Haoze in the distance. Before reaching him, the figure said, "Xiaoping, what are you doing here?"
Shi Lan's mouth was slightly open. At this moment, she couldn't care less about how she had changed her name. The appearance of the person in front of her surprised her so much that she couldn't speak.
Looking at this woman with innocent eyebrows and stunning beauty, Shi Lan cursed several times in her mind.
