Shi Lan lay on the stone table, gazing wistfully at the distant grove of trees blooming with delicate white magnolia flowers.
Petals fall, spreading a delightful fragrance.
Two figures walked slowly side by side. Shi Lan watched with a sore eye as Haoze raised his slender fingers, plucked the petal that had fallen on the fake woman's shoulder, and then whispered something, which made the fake woman chuckle softly. Haoze's gaze was immediately drawn to that beautiful face.
Shi Lanteng forcefully crushed the leaves that had drifted in from who-knows-where, stood up abruptly, no longer wanting to see this heart-wrenching scene, turned around and walked quickly in the direction furthest away from the two of them.
The surroundings gradually quieted down, and wisps of water vapor slowly filled the air.
Shi Lan looked up, somewhat surprised, not expecting that she had returned to the lakeside.
She walked around the large rock, leaned against it, and sat by the water. The pebbles on the ground were round and smooth, and she casually touched them and tossed them aside.
The pebbles fell into the water, making a splashing sound, and ripples spread across the nearby lake surface.
After throwing a dozen or so, Shi Lan got bored and stopped, leaning against the large rock in a daze, somewhat dejected.
Whether it was due to the intimate encounter or the sudden coldness of Haoze, Shi Lan's emotions have been fluctuating greatly lately.
Thinking back to when she first entered his soul, she had the mindset of completing a task. Even though Mingxiao repeatedly told her about Haoze's sacrifices, she was very moved and knew that Haoze was a good older brother, mentor, and someone she could entrust her back to. Apart from that, she had no other thoughts.
In order to awaken his consciousness and kiss him, no matter how intense the kiss was, she would maintain a sliver of clarity.
Shi Lan kicked her feet in frustration, not understanding what was wrong with her. Whenever she saw him with that woman who had her face on his body, she felt extremely annoyed, and the sourness in her heart was uncontrollable.
Waves rippled across the lake, and a green, round shell the size of a millstone appeared on the surface.
Shi Lan's eyes widened. She slowly stood up, supporting herself on the stone. When the round shell floated towards her, she slipped behind the stone, leaving only her two round eyes to peek out.
The round shell came to the shore, and as the water level dropped, it revealed four short claws and a head.
As the creature came ashore, Shi Lan jumped onto a large rock, looked down at it, and thought, "A turtle?"
The old turtle raised its head, glaring at her with its eyes, each as big as her fist. "It's the Overturning Sea Turtle."
"Oh," Shi Lan blinked, thinking to herself, "Isn't the Overturning Turtle still a turtle?"
The old turtle dragged its entire body ashore and said slowly, "I am a magnanimous old man and will not hold it against you." It stretched out its claws and said, "Tell me, why have you disturbed my cave and made it so uneasy?"
At this point, Shi Lan frowned and changed the subject, "I only threw two stones, how did that disturb your peace?"
The old tortoise glanced at her and saw that her face was ashen, and she looked heartbroken. She had probably lost her lover. But seeing the big scar on her face, he wondered how anyone could like her looking like that. He thought she must have confessed her feelings to someone and been rejected, which was why she came here to cause trouble.
The old tortoise was a gossipy person, most interested in gossip involving romance, and hurriedly crawled over to probe, but Shi Lan clenched her teeth and refused to utter a word.
Left with no other option, it had to resort to its invincible trump card.
“Young man, they say a good drink can cure a thousand sorrows. Today, this old man will get drunk with you. When you wake up, everything will be fine,” the old tortoise said, taking out two emerald green cups and filling them with wine.
Shi Lan looked at it with disdain and said, "How can you drink like that?"
Seeing her pout, the old tortoise stiffened its neck, and a gentle breeze swept by, suddenly revealing a handsome man in a dark green robe.
"Now you can drink it, right?" The man smiled slightly at Shi Lan, stretched out his hand, and surprisingly produced a folding fan, which he waved lightly.
Shi Lan twitched her lips and said, "Yes, of course."
She first handed him a cup, then placed the wine pot on the large rock, and then picked up the wine cup, saying, "I am Shi... Stone. It's a pleasure to meet you. Please give me your guidance."
After saying that, Shi Lan tossed her head back and downed the wine in one gulp.
Seeing how readily she agreed, the man chuckled and said, "This old man has long forgotten what he's called. Everyone calls me Old Turtle, so you can call me that too."
Shi Lan grinned and showed her teeth.
This is no ordinary wine. The first sip is sweet with a hint of fruitiness. After passing through the throat, it becomes crisp and slightly spicy. Once it reaches the stomach, it brings a warm feeling that makes one feel extremely comfortable.
Old Turtle also drank it all in one gulp and then refilled both of their glasses.
"At such a young age, one should be so carefree. To be filled with sorrow only makes one seem strange."
Old Turtle emptied his cup in one gulp, and Shi Lan, naturally not wanting to be underestimated, followed suit.
The two drank back and forth, and soon the wine jug was empty.
Seeing Shi Lan begin to sway from side to side, the old tortoise said, "Little Stone, we've met for so long, a thousand cups aren't enough. Let's have a couple more!"
Shi Lan shook her head, her eyes glazed over, and said, "I can't take it anymore, I'll get drunk if I drink any more."
Seeing that it was about time, the old tortoise worried that she might actually get drunk, which would be really bad, so he quickly said, "You seem to be in a bad mood today. Is something bothering you?"
Shi Lan immediately pouted, her eyes welling up with tears, and after a while she finally said with a pout, "I'm so sad."
Seeing that this involved matters of the heart, the old tortoise's eyes lit up immediately. He felt that the wine was worth it and quickly took out the wine pot again to fill Shi Lan's cup. "I've lived here for tens of thousands of years. I know everyone here. Tell me, who made you sad? I'll help you get revenge."
