"Stop right there! Who said you could leave?"
Wanrou's almond-shaped eyes widened, and she took half a step forward.
Shi Lan turned around and looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Immortal Lord, is there something you need?"
Wanrou raised her chin and said, "Of course I have something to say."
Shi Lan feigned realization, "Please do as you please, there's no need to inform me."
Wanrou's face immediately turned pale, especially after hearing the person she admired chuckle softly. She was even more furious. "How dare you, a mere grass demon!"
Shi Lan made a face and said, "My master is Haoze. Even if he wants me to do something, it should be my master who speaks. You come here as a guest, yet you insult the people in his cave so wantonly. I don't know if it's you who is presumptuous or me."
Wanrou was speechless after being rebuked by Shi Lan, so she had no choice but to turn to the master's favorite who could speak.
"Shi Lan, are you just going to watch me get bullied by her?"
Jia Lan looked around, seemingly unwilling to hurt any of them, so she had no choice but to ask Hao Ze for help.
Haoze couldn't bear to see her in such a predicament, so he immediately said, "Since you know you are my servant, you should know how to treat guests in this manor. How can you treat a guest like this?"
Shi Lan turned her head away without saying a word.
Looking into her dark eyes and seeing her stubborn attitude, he felt a pang of pity for some reason. He changed the subject and said, "I'm sending you to the Hundred Herbs Garden to weed for three months as punishment."
Shi Lan tilted her head and glared at him, then said coldly, "Yes, Lord Divine Lord." After saying that, she glanced at the remaining three people and left without looking back.
Wanrou stomped her feet in anger, pointing at Shi Lan's back and saying, "Look at this, such unruly behavior, is this the attitude of a servant?"
Jia Lan twitched her lips, her expression turning somewhat unpleasant.
Haoze coldly swept his gaze over the noisy Wanrou, delivering a precise and scathing remark: "As a guest, you're expected to discipline your servants on behalf of your master. In what way do you demonstrate the manners of a guest?"
Wanrou froze, speechless.
Qingyue gave an awkward smile, tugged at Wanrou, and cupped his hands in farewell, saying, "It's getting late, we should take our leave."
Wanrou was still a little reluctant; she wanted to take the opportunity to get two more bottles of Golden Elixir.
Jia Lan, however, was somewhat absent-minded and completely oblivious to Wan Rou's frequent suggestive expressions.
Qingyue gave Wanrou a wink, then smiled at Haoze, grabbed her, and forcibly took off on a cloud.
The Hundred Herbs Garden is located south of the cave. Shi Lan has only been here for a short time and is not yet familiar with many places. She is only able to know about the Hundred Herbs Garden thanks to Yun Pu.
Haoze ordered him to pick the freshest herbs every day to brew a body-strengthening soup for Shi Lan. Every morning, Shi Lan could see him coming from that direction.
Yu Cu grabbed the green grass by the roadside and Shi Lan walked all the way to the edge of the shimmering barrier.
Unaware of the danger, Shi Lan reached out and touched the restriction.
Suddenly, a multicolored aura appeared before her, surrounding her, with a faint mist of color spreading around her, and a few wisps of cold light hidden within it, appearing and disappearing intermittently.
Shi Lan felt a chill run down her spine and quickly called out, "Uncle Yun, it's me."
Within the barrier, a hunchbacked old man slowly emerged. Upon seeing Shi Lan, he quickly made a hand seal, and the killing intent surrounding Shi Lan vanished instantly.
A gap appeared in the light shield, and Shi Lan wiped away her cold sweat and crawled inside.
Yunpu looked at her strangely, "What are you doing here?"
Shi Lan pouted and said with dissatisfaction, "What else can I do? You're lucky. From today onwards, I'll keep you company."
Yunpu asked doubtfully, "You? Do you know how to take care of herbs?"
Shi Lan looked hurt. "I was transformed from a celestial herb into an immortal. How could I not know how to take care of my own kind?"
Yunpu twitched her lips. Although she was transformed from grass into an immortal, she was aquatic and she didn't know if she could take good care of terrestrial beings.
Shi Lan, unaware of his inner turmoil, looked around, picked up a hoe, and went to the edge of the field.
Soon, Yunpu realized that his worries were not unfounded, because this person really couldn't distinguish which was grass and which was 'medicine'.
Watching as Shi Lan ruthlessly eradicated the two newly sprouted seedlings, Yun Pu's heart ached.
He quickly snatched the hoe from her and pointed to the side, saying, "This place is not suitable for you. You should ask the deity to help you choose another place."
Without any tools to work with, Shi Lan simply sat by the field and watched Yun Pu work.
"No, the Divine Lord just sent me here, and you're telling me to leave? Are you going against the Divine Lord's will?"
Yunpu raised his eyes, saying incredulously, "How have I disobeyed the Divine Lord?"
Shi Lan touched the soft, jade-like soil by the field and said, "I came here on the orders of the Divine Lord, yet you are telling me to leave. What is this if not disobedience?"
Yunpu pointed at her, his already bulging eyes wide, speechless.
Shi Lan grinned mischievously. "How about this? I'll stay put and you let me stay here. That way, the Divine Lord's orders can still be completed, and I won't interfere with your work." Shi Lan raised an eyebrow. "What do you say?"
Yunpu was honest after all, and after hesitating for a while, he finally agreed.
Around noon, Yunpu picked some herbs to prepare for brewing, but Shilan, too lazy to go back and look at those heartbreaking scenes, stayed by the edge of the field and refused to leave.
Seeing that she had been well-behaved all morning, and considering that the more valuable herbs in the garden had other restrictions, Yunpu let her stay there.
The protective barrier outside the garden flashed twice, and Yunpu gave a final instruction on the activation incantation before leaving.
Shi Lan waited until he was far away before getting up.
Looking around and seeing no one, Shi Lan assumed a starting stance and began body tempering.
As night deepened, Shi Lan broke the seal and returned to her cave, where she haphazardly fell asleep. The next morning, before Haoze and the others could get up, she quietly returned to the Hundred Herbs Garden. After Yunpu left with the herbs, she continued her work.
