Chapter 395 The very last time (Part 12)

A faint crimson hue spread around them. Shi Lan watched her surroundings warily as she walked cautiously.

A few faint ripples came from afar, and Shi Lan quickly turned her head to look in that direction.

A tall figure approached from afar. When he was within three feet of her, Shi Lan could see his face clearly and couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "How come it's you?"

The man smiled slightly at Shi Lan, pointed his finger, and a stone table and two stone stools immediately rose up from the spot.

The man sat down and pointed to another stool, saying, "You sit down too."

Shi Lan frowned slightly, feeling uneasy, but her body moved uncontrollably as she sat down, even giving the person a faint smile.

"Haoze, now that you're here, what about the cave dwelling?"

Haoze smiled gently at her, "You're still hiding this from me. I already know why you came. That evil thing is cunning and tricky. I was worried that she might do something bad in secret, since she let you come out alone."

His gaze fell upon a tea set on the table, with fragrant tea steaming in the teapot.

With his beautiful, slender fingers, he gently pinched the teapot handle and elegantly poured two cups of tea. He then pushed the cups towards Shi Lan, saying, "The God Realm is so vast. You must be tired from running around like this."

Shi Lan blushed with embarrassment, "It's not hard work at all. Compared to what you did, I'm far inferior."

Haoze smiled, reached out and gently stroked her cheek, feeling pity for her. "It's hateful that evil thing took the form of you and lured me to swim with her. I didn't realize it at the time. You must have been very sad when you saw it."

Shi Lan's heart suddenly raced, and the heat on her face rose rapidly, as if it had been propelled by a rocket.

Haoze sighed softly and said, "Now that I have awakened, once that evil thing is eliminated, we will immediately hold a dual cultivation ceremony, and from then on, we will travel together in the Six Realms."

Shi Lan's eyes welled up with tears. No matter what she had been through, she was still a woman. Hearing such a promise, which was almost a confession, Shi Lan couldn't control herself.

Speaking of which, Zhu Yi had made the same vow before, but since he was Haoze's clone, Shi Lan was moved but still had reservations. Now, hearing Haoze say the same thing, her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her chest.

Seeing her like this, Haoze smiled with a mixture of pity and affection, "Look at you, you're still like a little child." He reached out and gently wiped Shi Lan's cheek.

Shi Lan then realized that she had been in tears all along.

Haoze wiped away her tears, held the teacup to her lips, and said gently, "Have some tea to soothe your nerves."

Having traveled through many worlds, Shi Lan was used to being served like this, but this was the first time she had been taken care of like this by Hao Ze.

Feeling a little embarrassed, she turned her face away and took it from her.

"I'll do it myself."

Haoze didn't insist, and let go of her hand, allowing her to take the cup.

Shi Lan glanced at him with a hint of turbulence in her eyes, then slowly raised her glass.

Little Ming, standing at her feet, kept nibbling at Shi Lan's skirt, making soft whimpering noises. Shi Lan turned her head to look at it and asked, "What's wrong, Little Ming?"

Xiao Ming barked anxiously at her. Seeing her looking at him blankly, he had no choice but to kick with his hind paws, pounce on her knees with his chubby body, hug her little arm, and give her a quick bite.

The intense pain jolted Shi Lan's nerves, and she couldn't help but scream and jump up.

The fog before her eyes dissipated with her scream, and the man with the faint chuckle vanished into thin air as the fog cleared.

Shi Lan was somewhat stunned. She turned her head and looked around, feeling a chill run down her spine.

She wasn't sitting at a stone table just now; she was clearly standing on bones. The stone table with the teapot was also made of bones, and the teacup on it was made of bone, containing a dark liquid that emitted a strange smell.

Shi Lan moved forward slowly, and a skeleton slid down slowly, accompanied by the movement of her skirt, making a soft clattering sound.

When Xiaoming saw that her eyes had regained their clarity, he jumped up and down with joy.

Shi Lan smiled at it and summoned a red ribbon to protect herself.

Xiao Ming skipped and hopped to the water's edge, whimpering fiercely.

Shi Lan was worried that something had happened to Xiao Ming, so she hurriedly chased after him, only to see a pale pink plant swaying gently with the ripples in the puddle.

Upon seeing the plant that resembled aquatic plants, Shi Lan was overjoyed. She quickly took out the jade box and a small jade shovel, ready to dig.

Seeing her actions, the little fish, which had been hiding in the crevice of the rock, became anxious and rushed out.

"what are you up to?"

Hearing the childish question, Shi Lan was taken aback.

Staring at the chubby little fish that was glaring at him with wide eyes, Shi Lan asked, "Was it you who spoke?"

The chubby little fish flicked its tail and said, "Of course not, who else could it be but that furry ball that only makes noise?"

Xiao Ming bared its teeth upon hearing this.

The little fat fish tucked its tail back, probably feeling it had lost its momentum, and quickly straightened its round body, trying to stick its head out, "This grass is mine, you can't touch it."

Shi Lan chuckled, her expression turning cold, clearly remembering how she had been tricked earlier.

"Who said it's yours? Your name is on it."

The little fat fish puffed out its cheeks in anger, "I said the little grass is mine, and it is mine. I never lie."

Shi Lan raised an eyebrow, staring at it with an unfriendly expression. "You're not lying? Then what about what happened just now?"

The chubby fish pouted, "Then how is that a lie?"

It said, "I merely created an illusion; I have no control over what will actually occur."

Shi Lan opened her mouth, vaguely feeling that it wasn't lying, but she was unwilling to be played like this, so she said, "This grass is right here. If you insist it's yours, then fight me. Whoever wins gets to keep it."

The little fat fish stared incredulously at the woman who had broken its 'mystery': "You're bullying the fish."

Shi Lan chuckled and said, "How did I bully you?"

Little Fatty Fish pouted, unable to fight back, and seeing his food about to be taken away, he couldn't help but burst into tears, "My mother told me that pretty women are all bad people, and that I should be careful. I thought my mother was lying to me, but it turns out that what my mother said was true."

Shi Lan said, both amused and exasperated, "Are you blind? How am I pretty like this?"

The chubby fish loosened its fin from wiping away tears, rolled its eyes, and said, "You're the most pleasing to the eye I've ever seen. Aren't you beautiful?"

Shi Lan smiled, feeling much more at ease after being persuaded, and then compromised, "I definitely want to take the Mirage Grass. How about this, I'll take the grass with me first, and after I use it, I'll return the roots to you. That way, after some time, the fairy grass will grow back."

The chubby fish blinked and said, "Pretty sister, your idea is good, but can you guarantee you'll be back within half a day?"

Shi Lan stared wide-eyed in surprise.

How could that be? It would take at least ten days to get from here to Haoze's cave, not to mention the return trip. She couldn't possibly make the round trip in half a day.
