Chapter 47 The Martial Arts School Girl Seeking Revenge (Part 5)

Shi Lan's lips curled into a cold smile, while a surge of exhilaration and satisfaction welled up within him.

Suddenly, a warning flashed through her mind without warning. Ever since Shi Lan began cultivating the Chaos Technique, she had placed great trust in her senses and immediately dodged to the left.

A silver needle, carrying a cool sensation, slanted through the hair at her temple and burrowed into the thick tree trunk that the two of them could barely encircle.

Shi Lan turned around and looked warily at the empty woods, then whispered, "Who's there?"

Under the moonlight, the wind rustled the trees, and a handsome young man with a fair complexion slowly emerged from behind the trees amidst the dappled light and shadow.

Shi Lan frowned as she watched the approaching youth, her thin blade twirling slightly in her hand. "Who are you?"

The silvery moonlight illuminated the boy's handsome face, his thick eyelashes fluttered, and in the soft shadows were his beautifully shaped lips.

"Will-o'-the-wisp," the boy said after a few moments of silence, reluctantly uttering a name that startled Shi Lan.

Shi Lan's eyes darted around. In her memory, the will-o'-the-wisp's appearance was indeed very delicate, but wasn't he a young man in his twenties? How could he have become seven or eight years younger in the blink of an eye?

Is he turning back the clock?

Shi Lan recalled that a long time ago, before she traveled to different worlds, she had seen on TV the Tianshan Child Granny, who transformed from a tender young girl into a girl with her hair in a bun.

But that's just made up. Is it really possible for someone to suddenly look several years younger? This world is truly amazing.

Shi Lan's imagination has reached the heavens.

When Ghostfire saw her bright eyes, her dark pupils suddenly bursting with a dazzling light, he felt a chill run down his spine for some reason, and his steps froze on the spot.

Seeing that he didn't move, Shi Lan took a step forward and carefully looked at his smooth and tender face. She clicked her tongue inwardly and thought it really was like a peeled egg. However, she still had a cold expression on her face. "How did you become such a grotesque person?"

Ghostfire's eyes turned cold, and he wanted to get angry, but when he saw Zhao Chao getting up and sneaking away, he snorted and raised his hand to shoot out a burst of energy.

The icy chill and the needle inserted against his nose kept Zhao Chao rooted to the spot, too afraid to move an inch.

"You still say that if it weren't for you, I would have become like this?" Ghostfire pouted angrily with her chubby little face, her rosy lips pressed tightly together, covering her set of clean and neat teeth.

Shi Lan touched his nose, weighing the difference between himself and the will-o'-the-wisp, and concluded that it could completely crush him.

As the saying goes, a wise person knows when to yield. Since Shi Lan is not as strong as others, she can only temporarily put aside her grudge with the ghost fire and find out who the original owner's enemy is. As for the sneak attack just now, she will find a chance to get revenge.

"Well, what happened last time had nothing to do with me. It was Zhao Chao and Xu Jiao who were behind it. I know now, so I came here to settle the score with them," Shi Lan said, raising her hand to cover her chest, her face showing pain. "Besides, I'm also badly injured. It hurts even if I exert myself a little."

Will-o'-the-wisp glanced at her sideways, and parted his lips slightly, "Shut up, you can leave now."

Although he spoke bluntly, Shi Lan knew that he was letting bygones be bygones. However, she still shook her head immediately at Gui Huo's request: "No, I still have things to ask them."

The will-o'-the-wisp flickered into his eyebrow, which was now tucked behind his ear, and he said coldly, "Since you're not leaving, then stay here with us."

Before he finished speaking, he lunged forward, his slender fingers transforming from a palm into a fist, aiming for Shi Lan's face.

Shi Lan knew she couldn't win against the ghost fire in a head-on confrontation; she was already performing at an extraordinary level, even managing to unleash five-tenths of the original owner's strength.

The Ghost Fire Fist was fierce and powerful, with a whistling sound of explosive energy. Shi Lan's fair palm was covered with a thin layer of energy. She used the momentum of the Ghost Fire Fist to push gently and then pull it.

The will-o'-the-wisp was caught off guard and stumbled, falling towards Shi Lan.

Shi Lan quickly pushed away the wrist she was gripping tightly.

The will-o'-the-wisp stopped, its large, round eyes fixed on her. "What kind of kung fu is that?"

Shi Lan grinned and gave a deliberately mysterious smile.

Seeing this, Will-o'-the-Wisp knew there would be no answer, and once it regained its footing, it attacked again.

Shi Lan hurriedly stopped her, saying, "I really have something to ask them. You have no grudge against me, yet they come looking for trouble as soon as we come down the mountain. Don't you want to know why?"

Will-o'-the-wisp glanced at her and said coldly, "I don't want to know."

Enraged, Shi Lan leaped back two steps and shouted, "Ten years ago, did you destroy a martial arts school in Pingshan Town and kill everyone inside?"

Will-o'-the-wisp blinked, thought for a moment, and said, "No."

Shi Lan's hand tightened, feeling the dampness in her palm. She asked again, "You dare to swear?"

Will-o'-the-wisp snorted, "No means no, believe it or not."

Although she didn't know much about the Will-o'-the-Wisp, based on their earlier interaction, Shi Lan could tell that the Will-o'-the-Wisp was a proud and arrogant person who kept his word.

"Alright, I believe you if you say no. But Xu Jiao is the only survivor who escaped from that martial arts school. I need to find out from her who the real culprit is. You can deal with Zhao Chao as you see fit, but you have to give me Xu Jiao."

Shi Lan felt she had taken a big step back and explained the reason to Gui Huo, so she turned around and walked towards Xu Jiao, who was a few steps away and about to finish her cultivation.

A stream of energy surged from Ghost Fire's palm, drawing Zhao Chao into its grasp. It then destroyed the dantian, where all of Zhao Chao's power was concentrated, before coldly glancing at Shi Lan, who was now standing in front of Xu Jiao. "These two have stolen our sect's secret techniques and offended the sect. I'm taking them both away."

Shi Lan turned her head to look at him, her face full of dissatisfaction. "No, Xu Jiao is mine. Didn't we agree on that before?"

Will-o'-the-wisp said calmly, "That's just what you said; I didn't agree."

Shi Lan's temples throbbed with veins, and as he watched Xu Jiao's eyelids flutter slightly, the surging energy around him slowly returned to his dantian.

Shi Lan glared angrily at the will-o'-the-wisp, her palm surging with energy as she slammed it hard against Xu Jiao's dantian.

Xu Jiao's aura had already dispersed and was slowly filling her body. Now was the crucial moment when it was gathering in her dantian and slowly compressing. Shi Lan's palm strike was launched in anger, shattering the aura that had just condensed into a droplet shape.

After a low, muffled sound, Xu Jiao screamed like a hen being choked, only managing half a cry before abruptly stopping.

Ghost Fire watched her movements with an expressionless face, then stepped forward to grab Xu Jiao.

Shi Lan stopped his arm and said seriously, "Ghost Fire, let's settle this with one battle. If I win, you can let me take Xu Jiao away. If you lose, you have to grant me one request."

Will-o'-the-wisp stared at her for a moment, then asked, "Is there a difference?"

Shi Lan said awkwardly, "Anyway, you won. I can't stop you from taking these two away. Why are you being so serious?"

Will-o'-the-wisp glanced at her with icy eyes, then raised his arm, sending Zhao Chao soaring into the air and landing directly on Xu Jiao, who was slumped on the ground.
