Chapter 81 Love in the Tomb (Part 8)

Wang Haibo gave Old Man Yan a strange look, then lowered his head and continued stuffing things into the bag.

Old Man Yan snorted and glanced at Wang Haibo. "If you want to die, don't drag us down with you. None of you are allowed to take anything out of here today. Wang Haibo, if you're not satisfied, come back tomorrow. I swear in the name of our ancestors that I will never touch a single thing again."

Wang Haibo chuckled, his hands still moving. "Old Yan, you don't want such good stuff? Are you getting senile? But it's fine, it's a good deal for me. Since they're all mine, I might as well take them all out today, so I don't have to go through the trouble again tomorrow."

Old Man Yan immediately raised his eyebrows and said angrily, "You scoundrel! If it weren't for the fact that your master and I had some kind of relationship when he was alive, do you think I would tolerate you like this? You know the rules of the tomb raiders. When the candle goes out, it means that the owner of this place has already blamed us. If we return the items as they were, we might be able to leave. Otherwise, we're afraid we'll have to stay here forever. Do you want to stay here forever?"

Old Man Yan meant well, but his tone was really unfriendly, especially when he mentioned Wang Haibo's master. This made Wang Haibo extremely dissatisfied, so he sneered, "Don't talk to me about those things. We, the Mountain Moving lineage, don't care about these things. If you're afraid, then you can leave. Anyway, I'm not leaving."

Old Man Yan snorted, stopped trying to persuade him, took out his compass, and turned to leave.

Yao Jingping glanced reluctantly at the object in Wang Haibo's hand, but didn't touch it.

Old Man Yan gave a sharp look and snorted coldly. Yao Jinpeng quickly grabbed Yao Jingping and followed closely behind Old Man Yan, heading towards the tomb entrance.

To be fair, Old Man Yan was a fairly kind and righteous man. As he reached the door, he turned back and said, "Miss Shi, it's getting late. Why don't you come with us?"

Shi Lan smiled slightly and waved to Old Man Yan, who was looking at her with concern, "No, Old Man Yan, I have something to do. You can go now."

Old Man Yan glanced at Leng Qingyue and Huang Wanrou, who were blocking Shi Lan's way, shook his head, knowing that he couldn't control everything, sighed softly, and walked out.

Shi Lan watched Old Man Yan leave, then glanced at the black smoke that condensed around her like ink droplets, grinned, and turned back to continue groping along the wall.

According to the divination she performed before coming down, this journey was both inauspicious and auspicious, and the southeast was her most auspicious direction today, which is why she came here to find her way out.

Beside the coffin, Wang Haibo gazed greedily at the gold and jade inlaid objects, caressing each one before carefully placing them into his bag.

Zhou Yan kept her head down, staring at the bag, seemingly lost in thought, her expression blank.

With three people missing from the tomb chamber, the already small space became quiet, making the remaining people feel quite uncomfortable.

Shi Lan's spiritual perception was far superior to that of ordinary people, and she was the first to notice something was wrong. When she turned around, she discovered that the black mist that had been gathered outside and at the edge of the tomb chamber had somehow appeared as many indistinct shadows.

The smoke spread slowly but rapidly, and shadows gathered around the coffin. Several menacing figures had already climbed onto Wang Haibo's body. When they saw Shi Lan looking over, the shadowy figures bared their teeth and breathed at her in a menacing manner.

A wisp of white smoke escaped from the shadow's mouth, quickly disappearing into the darkness.

Shi Lan shuddered, trying to convince herself it was an illusion, an illusion, as she continued to feel the stone wall with her fingers.

Wang Haibo remained oblivious, mechanically picking up the items one by one, and tying the bag tightly once it was full.

As he stood up, he struggled slightly to straighten his back and let out two low, rapid breaths.

Shi Lan secretly sized up Wang Haibo. She saw that his eyes were dark and his originally yellow face was now deathly pale. Zhou Yan, on the other hand, had empty eyes, a blank expression, and her soft body was stiff like a puppet.

Shi Lan frantically touched the stone wall. At this moment, the cold stone wall seemed to her like an insurmountable chasm, firmly standing in front of her, blocking her way out.

The anxiety of not being able to find a way out for a long time, coupled with the fear of suddenly seeing many hideous shadows, made Shi Lan start hitting the wall randomly.

Whether it was good luck or just a coincidence, just as Zhou Yan turned to look at her, Shi Lan heard a faint sound coming from inside the wall.

The sound was so short that if she hadn't been so close, she probably would have thought it was her imagination.

Zhou Yan stared blankly at Shi Lan for a moment, then looked away and stared at Huang Wanrou.

Zhou Yan's gaze was very strange, making Huang Wanrou feel something was wrong even though her back was turned.

"Possessed by a ghost?" Huang Wanrou frowned and looked at it twice, her face full of disgust.

Zhou Yan grinned strangely, exhaled, and a wisp of white smoke emerged from her mouth.

Huang Wanrou made a series of pinching motions with her hands while muttering incantations, and then pointed a finger.

Shi Lan squatted by the wall, watching Huang Wanrou's impressive posture, and wondered to herself, could Huang Wanrou also be from Maoshan?

Seeing her like this, Zhou Yan hurriedly dodged in fear.

Huang Wanrou gave a cold laugh and pointed her slender finger at Zhou Yan without any mercy.

Then……

Zhou Yan trembled and closed her eyes, then waited two seconds. Realizing that she was alright, she turned ferocious and lunged at Huang Wanrou.

Huang Wanrou stared at her fingers in disbelief, completely unaware of the long, black nails that had grown against the wind as Zhou Yan pounced on her.

Just as her fingernails were about to scratch Huang Wanrou's tender skin, Leng Qingyue coldly scolded, "You wretched creature," then pinched her fingers together, took out a talisman from her pocket, waved it in the air, and threw it at Zhou Yan.

Zhou Yan screamed, seemingly trying to dodge, but the talisman seemed to have eyes, changing direction and still sticking to her forehead.

Zhou Yan was immediately frozen in place, her long fingernails flailing wildly as she let out a shrill, ear-piercing scream.

Having successfully immobilized Zhou Yan, Leng Qingyue breathed a sigh of relief, bit her finger until it bled, took out a talisman, and drew a few strokes on it with her blood. Suddenly, the talisman burst into flames.

Leng Qingyue calmly watched as the talisman burned into a rolled-up ash, then quickly stuffed it into Zhou Yan's mouth.

Zhou Yan struggled and screamed incessantly. A few seconds later, her complexion miraculously returned to normal. Then, her eyes shifted slightly, and her expression became much calmer.

Zhou Yan lowered her raised arm and saw the yellow paper stuck to her forehead. She was taken aback, reached out and took it off, asking curiously, "Why did you put this on me?"

As she spoke, she glanced at Leng Qingyue, whose expression was cold and stern, and then turned to look at Wang Haibo, only to find him staring at her with a look of fear. She then realized that something was amiss.

"Master, you..."

Wang Haibo flinched and took a step back. "Don't come any closer."

Zhou Yan's voice was actually very clear and crisp, and Wang Haibo liked that voice the most. But now, he felt it was like a vengeful bell from a hungry ghost.

Zhou Yan stopped in her tracks, glanced at Wang Haibo with a wounded expression, her almond-shaped eyes filled with tears.

Wang Haibo glanced at her guiltily, moved his lips, and lowered his head.
