Chen Ke used the beef jerky he brought to exchange for a set of clothes at the nearest farmer's house. Although the old farmer had brought out the largest size clothes in his house, they were still a bit small for Chen Ke.
After changing his clothes, Chen Ke found a dilapidated temple to settle his people, and then he prepared to go to the city alone with herbs and dried meat to exchange for money to buy clothes.
The people of Youqi tribe were very satisfied with the dilapidated temple that Chen Ke had found for them.
"Wow, the houses here are really well-built. Although there is some dust and weeds, they will definitely look beautiful after a little cleaning."
"Yes, look how vibrant the colors are."
"There are also many beautiful clay figurines here."
"Wow, they're so fat! They look like they're living a good life. Looks like we made the right choice to come here!"
The wise man Lacha nodded in satisfaction, “But this clay figure is too in the way here. Let’s move it outside and put it at the entrance as a decoration.”
“Okay, I’ll carry it!” Karulu volunteered.
He had put all his strength into lifting the clay figure because it was so tall, but to his surprise, he lifted it up with ease.
"Wow, this clay figure is hollow! It's so light!"
Upon hearing this, the soldiers all rushed to help, each carrying one to the door. If they encountered smaller ones, the soldiers would carry one in each hand.
In just a few moments, the entire hall was emptied, and the wise man Lacha looked at the large, empty house with great satisfaction.
Their tribe finally got to live in big houses.
Just as the clansmen were happily busy tidying up their houses, Chen Ke finally entered the city.
Facing the bustling, vibrant street, Chen Ke remained calm, but the Flame Eagle King on his shoulder was clearly in a bad state.
"My God... really, so many two-legged creatures... and so many other things!" The Flame Eagle King was at a loss for words; he couldn't even describe one percent of what he saw through his eagle eyes.
"This time, I have truly broadened my horizons."
"My goodness, houses can be built this tall!"
"My God, how can a two-legged creature grow this short? Hey, is it a cub?"
Ignoring the startled Flame Eagle King, Chen Ke carried the animal skin bag and searched everywhere for places to sell things.
"Wow, look in the sky! There's a sacred beast flying!" The crowd on the street suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
Chen Ke looked up and saw dozens of geese with wingspans of two or three meters flying out of the city in a row. Each of them had a man in blue robes sitting on it, making quite a grand and imposing sight.
As the wild geese flew over the city, they occasionally let out a cry or two. Their clear, melodious voices caused the mortals below to exclaim that they had heard celestial music.
"A celestial voice? This lousy voice isn't even as good as mine, yet it's called celestial voice by two-legged beasts?" Flame Eagle King rolled his eyes and complained to Chen Ke.
Chen Ke, however, only noticed the clothes those people were wearing, thinking to himself that they seemed to be dressed very similarly to Lin Yue's. Could it be that they belonged to the same sect as Lin Yue?
Seeing that Chen Ke ignored him, the Flame Eagle King mistakenly assumed that he also found the voices of those ugly creatures pleasant to listen to. Immediately, his damned competitive spirit flared up, and with a flap of his wings, the Flame Eagle King was about to go up and compete with the geese.
By the time Chen Ke realized what was happening, the Flame Eagle King had already soared into the sky, and all he could see was its tail.
Chen Ke reluctantly withdrew Er Kang's hand.
An elderly man nearby, noticing this, exclaimed in surprise, "Hey, young man, you're so tall, even your pet parrot flies so high! It's almost right next to the sacred beasts!" Then, as if remembering something, the old man clapped his hands in regret, saying, "Oh dear, those sacred beasts have terrible tempers; they'll definitely eat your white parrot soon!"
Chen Ke smiled but didn't say anything.
The old man was even more anxious than Chen Ke. He craned his neck to look at Chen Ke's face and continued, "Look at you, young man, you're not worried at all. Just look at how well you've raised your parrot. You'll be crying when it gets eaten!"
No sooner had the old man finished speaking than a loud eagle cry rang out, and the Flame Eagle King swept its tail with a graceful flick, blocking the flight of the wild geese.
It had just made an expression, ready to mock.
Unexpectedly, the dozen or so geese immediately went into a frenzy, flapping their wings incoherently.
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!" The Qingyun Sect disciples, also on the back of the wild goose, were terrified. This was high in the sky! Even though they were martial artists with thick skin, falling from this height would turn them into mincemeat!
"Control Yu Yan!"
"Senior brother, what's wrong with them?"
"Yes, what's wrong with them?" King Flame Eagle kindly leaned over and asked.
"Chirp chirp chirp!" One of the goose was immediately terrified and started chirping wildly. In its frantic trembling, the Qingyun Sect disciple on its back lost his balance and was thrown off...
"ah!"
The bewildered crowd below first saw the sacred beast in the sky acting chaotically for some unknown reason, and then, a martial artist fell down...
!!
"Aaaaaah! This is going to kill me!"
"Ouch! Someone fell and died!"
Meanwhile, in the sky, the Flame Eagle King, still looking completely bewildered, thought: "I...I've lost two legs...?"
"It's that eagle!"
"It was that white eagle that did this!"
"Junior brothers, catch it!"
The Flame Eagle King opened his round eyes wide.
It wasn't me, I didn't do anything!
"Grab it! Peel it and tear out its tendons!"
"Kill that eagle!"
The sacred beast of the Qingyun Sect, which has always been high and mighty, was actually frightened by an eagle, and even threw the disciple on its back off on the spot. If this news were to be known by people in the martial arts world, and the sect were to become a laughing stock, then the disciples present today would not survive.
