Chapter 163 The Ungrateful Fake Son 3

After saying that, Xie Ming didn't give him a chance to reply and walked straight to the kitchen.

The kitchen also has an oven and a gas stove, but Xie Ming still uses a traditional earthen stove. Food cooked with firewood and an iron pot tastes better than food cooked with modern kitchen appliances.

Xie Zhouyi isn't skipping dinner; he's developing anorexia. If he doesn't get proper care, he'll eventually have to say goodbye to everyone.

Following his father into the kitchen, Xie Zhouyi discovered that there was something in the iron pot on the stove.

To his surprise, there was no smoke or grease in the kitchen. He casually opened the wooden lid and saw a pot inside, with an old hen being stewed in a double boiler.

"I can't smell anything in the room."

Xie Ming, who was sitting by the stove adding fuel to the fire, leaned out and pointed to the chimney above, saying, "You think this little bit of smoke can stump the things our ancestors created? Do you think these things can't compete with modern technology? You should learn from them!"

"Is the chicken inside cooked for me?"

Xie Zhouyi hadn't informed Xie Ming; he just wanted to see how his biological father would react if he suddenly saw him.

"Yeah! I got a call from the production team this morning, so I prepared this for you. Your mom liked this when she was pregnant with you, so I figured you probably wouldn't dislike it if I made it this way."

Smelling the rich aroma of chicken soup in the pot, he suddenly felt that his own father might not be so disappointing, but so what?

"Are there any other dishes? I can cook those too!"

"No need, I'm quick. You sit and rest."

Xie Ming added firewood, then went to the front, put on an apron, and took out the pork belly that had been washed and cut beforehand to start cooking.

His pork belly requires four steps: frying, stir-frying, braising, and steaming. He only adds scallions, ginger, garlic, wine, and salt, without any other spices.

Xie Zhouyi watched for a while and then sat down on a bamboo chair next to the kitchen to wait for his meal.

"Young people these days don't like to eat fatty meat, so I thought I'd make this. You can try it and see if you like the taste."

After Xie Ming finished speaking, he took the braised meat out and put it on the steamer, then turned around to add fire to the stove behind him.

"I can't eat much, please give me less!"

The thought of chicken and meat made Xie Zhouyi feel nauseous as a reflex, and he immediately stood up and walked outside.

Xie Ming smiled thoughtfully as he saw his hurried figure.
