She is a pearl, a precious gem; she will never be mistaken for a fish eye, no matter where she is placed.
Su Qingyue placed her meal in front of Ye Jiu, who took off her headphones and looked up, saying, "That was pretty quick."
She glanced curiously at what was in Su Qingyue's bowl. It wasn't the bright red color she had imagined; it was just a plain bowl with a little bit of red oil.
"I knew it! I really can't imagine you eating super spicy mala tang, wiping sweat as you eat. It would just look hilarious on your face."
He followed her lead and imagined it for a moment, and it wasn't so bad. Thinking this, he asked, "Why do you find it funny? I'm just an ordinary person, I just have a nice face."
"Just look at that face, you're not ordinary at all! With looks like that, you could totally make a living off your face."
Su Qingyue raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Don't I already rely on my looks to make a living?"
Ye Jiu looked at him shyly and said, "Well, that's different. It's because you're talented that I asked you to tutor me."
After Ye Jiu finished speaking, she added, "This is more important than face."
Su Qingyue smiled and lowered her head, no longer teasing her. She unpacked the disposable chopsticks and prepared to start eating.
He glanced up casually and saw Ye Jiu staring intently at his... bowl.
"Do you want some too?" He pushed the bowl a little closer to her.
"Then I won't be polite!" Ye Jiu quickly found a small bowl, took apart a pair of chopsticks, and poured a few mouthfuls into the small bowl. In such small shops, most dishes are spicy hot pot noodles, which are difficult to break with chopsticks. Ye Jiu accidentally picked up a little too much.
Ye Jiu silently looked at her bowl, then at his bowl. "Hmm...would you mind if I ate more?"
"I don't mind." Su Qingyue felt that Ye Jiu was particularly vibrant, and he felt a secret excitement at discovering another side of her.
