Aurora's little leather shoes clicked on the wooden floor. There weren't many people in the shop; everyone was slowly browsing and choosing their favorite herbs, and no one paid any attention to the noise Aurora was making.
However, the shop owner heard the sound.
"Hey! Look who's here? Aurora! Long time no see!" A man with a big beard who looked a bit like Santa Claus came out to greet Aurora.
“Jay, it’s been a long time! Your beard looks even more charming!” Aurora nodded and greeted him.
"Why did you suddenly come here? Did I not have enough herbs?"
Jay's herbal medicine shop has a long-standing partnership with the Harrington family, and most of Aurora's potion ingredients come from his shop.
Aurora shook her head. "No, I just wanted to come and see what new and interesting things there are to inspire my new potion, and also bring a little kid along to broaden his horizons."
Jay turned his gaze to Ye Jiu. "Is it her? A very cute little girl." He then added, "Oh, and there's also a very cute boy."
“It’s a coincidence that she’s a freshman at Celt Magic Academy. You know I’m always tolerant of children.”
“Of course, welcome. Just tell me what you need.” Jay opened his arms, his face full of confidence. “This is the best herbal medicine shop in Ascaria. You can find any herb you want here. If you can’t find it here, then it’s probably almost impossible to find that herb on this continent.”
"Hello, nice to meet you. I'm just browsing around with my teacher and I'm not sure what I need yet."
Jay put his hand down, looking regretful. "Okay, I'm sorry I can't help you. Feel free to browse around if you're interested, I'll give you a friend's price."
Aurora laughed, "Ye Jiu, you'd better seize this opportunity. You know, Jay never gives discounts easily."
Ye Jiu glanced at the prices of these herbs out of the corner of his eye. Each one cost 5 gold coins. Yes, gold coins. This price was too expensive for Ye Jiu at the moment, especially since most magical potions could not be made with just one herb.
She nodded. "Thank you for your generosity. I will carefully consider what I need."
"Then I won't disturb you any longer. It's your shopping time now."
Aurora said goodbye to him, then turned to Ye Jiu and said, "The herbs here are the best quality in the city, so of course they'll be a bit more expensive. But once you learn how to make high-level potions and start selling them, you won't find them expensive anymore."
Ye Jiu licked her lips sheepishly, realizing she'd been caught. "At least for me right now, it's definitely not cheap."
Aurora shrugged. "You're free to wander around. We'll meet at the entrance when you're done."
After Aurora finished speaking, she headed straight for the area she wanted to visit, leaving Ye Jiu and Lorian behind.
Ye Jiu and Luo Rui'an exchanged a glance, and she asked, "Do you need any potions?"
“Me?” Lorian shook his head. “I don’t need it.”
Well, she knew he would say that.
Since she was already there, she decided to take a look at them all. As she examined each herb, Ye Jiu could clearly sense the difference in quality between these herbs and those she had seen before. No wonder they were so expensive.
After looking at one shelf, Ye Jiu exclaimed, "The expensive ones are just different."
Lorien asked curiously, "Does Ye Jiu want them?"
Ye Jiu replied matter-of-factly, "Of course, I don't think any potion master would refuse. But right now I'm willing but unable to, let's talk about it later."
Lorien glanced back at the herbs on the shelf and silently noted their names. If Ye Jiu wanted them, he would work hard to earn money to buy them for her.
Even with that herbal medicine shop, she probably won't lack money in the future.
Before she knew it, she had browsed the entire shop. By the time Ye Jiu came to her senses, quite some time had passed, and she could see the moon hanging high in the sky through the window.
Ye Jiu pulled Lorien and quickly walked to the door, where they met Aurora, who had been waiting for a long time. "I'm so sorry, we accidentally forgot the time."
"It's nothing serious. I just finished browsing around too. Jay's herbal shop has that kind of magic; it makes it impossible for you to take your eyes off those herbs."
Aurora opened the door. "Come on, let me take you to my house."
Ye Jiu followed her out the door, and Aurora handed each of them a teleportation scroll.
"It's too late now, this will be faster. Just tear it open."
Knowing the value of teleportation scrolls, Ye Jiu felt the thing in her hand was burning hot; it was too extravagant!
Seeing that Ye Jiu hadn't moved, Aurora urged her, "Don't just stand there, tear it open and you'll be at my doorstep."
After saying that, she tore open the scroll in her hand and disappeared before Ye Jiu's eyes.
“Let’s go too.” Ye Jiu patted Lorien on the shoulder. “Let’s go see Aurora’s house.”
The two tore open the scroll one after the other, and a few seconds later, the group gathered at the entrance of a castle.
Aurora strode inside, saying, "Come on, this is my home."
As expected, it was a castle. Ye Jiu wasn't surprised at all, after all, she was a wealthy and powerful young lady.
The servants inside the castle had been waiting for a long time. When they saw Aurora push open the door, they all stopped what they were doing, bowed, and said in unison, "Welcome home, Miss."
Ye Jiu followed behind Aurora, thinking to himself, "Great, it fits the stereotype perfectly."
After enjoying a lavish dinner together, the castle butler arranged rooms for Ye Jiu and Lorian, bringing their dramatic day to a close.
Ye Jiu huddled in the room, counting the gold coins on her person, "10, 20... 200 gold coins."
She muttered, "She thought they could squander this money for a while."
