Chapter 48 My Childhood Sweetheart Doesn't Seem to Be Human (9)

Xin Mao and Shen Que appeared at the orphanage gate at the same time. The surveillance footage did not capture who abandoned them; they were simply left at the orphanage gate on a winter day with the first snow.

Unlike human infants who are frail and grow slowly, their growth happens in just a few days. By the sixth day at the orphanage, they looked like six-year-old children.

No one in the orphanage objected to this, as if it were their duty, as if it were their sixth year at the orphanage.

Xinmao likes to bask in the sun and likes green. He has no interest in raw meat and never feels hungry. Shenque likes water, blue, and black. He can eat raw meat because he is always hungry.

Shen Que would induce the orphanage staff to feed him raw meat, and Xin Mao would always look at him with disgust.

That day, a couple came and immediately took a liking to Shen Que, who was exquisitely beautiful. On the other hand, they were not very interested in adopting Xin Mao, who was equally well-behaved.

So they were separated.

After Shen Que followed the couple, Xin Mao also left the orphanage and followed them.

They met Ye Jiu on the same day, and they were both attracted to her.

"I want her."

"I want her too."

They agreed to take turns being the "debate expert".

"We went to see the stars today."

"She taught me how to use chopsticks."

"She smells so good, Chen Que/Xin Mao likes her."

They would sometimes argue, back when their self-healing abilities weren't particularly strong. The marks left by the tentacles on Xin Mao's body looked like cigarette burns, and the marks left by the vines on Shen Que's body looked like whip marks.

Ye Jiu would help them apply medicine, thus turning the fight into an attempt to provoke the other party and inflict more serious injuries.

Two years later, Shen Que broke the agreement first. He wondered, why should he have to share with Xin Mao?

He sealed Xin Mao underground, thinking he could keep him locked up for decades, but he didn't expect that he would escape after only 12 years.

The two men on the rooftop simultaneously withdrew their attacks, and ultimately parted on bad terms.

Shen Que took advantage of Xin Mao's inattention and threw him to a distant mountain. Although it wouldn't last more than a few days, at least he wouldn't be bothered by him for the time being.

Tomorrow is the last day of his vacation. After returning to the base, he can slowly figure out a way to get rid of him.

Before I knew it, the sun was about to rise, and the first rays of dawn illuminated the city. Chen Que silently returned to his room.

——

Today was Shen Que's last day at home, and Ye Jiu was thinking of going to an amusement park or something with him, or having a meal and watching a movie, but she didn't expect him to suddenly catch a cold.

When Shen Que returned to bed, his whole body went limp and his head spun. Before he lost consciousness, his last thought was, "The dead vines ambushed me."

Xin Mao, far away in the mountains, sneezed, rubbed his nose, and continued to manipulate the vines to extend forward. The dead tentacles had thrown him this far away; just wait and see.

Seeing that Shen Que hadn't gotten up yet, Ye Jiu opened his bedroom door to see what was wrong with him. Shen Que's eyes were closed, his face was flushed, and he had kicked off the blanket. He was curled up on the bed, murmuring, "Cold... um, sister... sister."

Ye Jiu's eyes widened in shock. Holy crap, this kid can actually get sick?!

She had been playing with him for over a decade, and this was the first time she had ever seen him sick.

Ye Jiu took out a thermometer from the first-aid kit in the living room to check his temperature.

The thermometer reads 49.5°C.

...? ? ? Young Master Duo?! 49°!!! You kid, are you dead?

Ye Jiu reached out and touched his forehead to check his temperature. Damn, it was burning hot. She grabbed Shen Que's shoulders and shook him violently. "Shen Que! Shen Que!!! Are you dead?"

Shen Que was shaken awake and opened his eyes weakly, but his eyelids were too heavy. He opened them and closed them again. He leaned on Ye Jiu's shoulder and asked in a sleepy voice, "Sister, what's wrong?"

Seeing that he opened his eyes, Ye Jiu felt relieved. "I just took your temperature and it was over 49 degrees. I thought you were seriously ill, so I called you."

Shen Que lifted his eyelids. 49°? He remembered he had set it to 39°... Hmm, he was too sleepy and set it wrong...

"Sister, the thermometer must be broken. Try it again. How could anyone have such a high fever?"

Ye Jiu, still somewhat doubtful, picked up the temperature gun again and held it to his forehead.

"Drip" 39°

"Hey, it seems like there really was a problem with the temperature reading just now." Ye Jiu fiddled with the thermometer gun, trying to see what was wrong with it, and, not believing it, pressed it against her forehead again.

"My temperature was 36.4°C, which is normal."

Ye Jiu muttered, "Looks like I didn't measure it accurately just now." She reached out and touched his forehead, and indeed felt that the temperature wasn't as hot as before.

"How did I suddenly catch a cold? Should I take some fever reducer?" Ye Jiu looked down and rummaged through the first-aid kit.

Shen Que nuzzled her neck. "I don't want to take it. The medicine is bitter. I'm not sick... Hmm, I'm just a little sleepy." He put his arm around Ye Jiu's waist. "I'll feel better after a nap. I'll sleep with you, sister."

Shen Que pressed against Ye Jiu and let out a soft sigh. His desire was suddenly filled, followed by an even greater emptiness. It wasn't enough; this physical contact wasn't enough... He wanted more, but what else could he do?

Shall we kiss?

Shen Que turned his head, wanting to kiss her, but Ye Jiu covered her mouth, saying, "Don't kiss me, don't infect me, it's troublesome if I get sick."

Shen Que panicked when he couldn't kiss her. "No, it won't be contagious, sister won't get sick." This isn't a human fever or cold; he was just poisoned by that bastard, and he'll be fine after a good night's sleep.

Shen Que was getting impatient because he couldn't get a kiss from Ye Jiu. He kept rubbing against her and whimpering, "Sister, it hurts, um, I want a kiss."

Ye Jiu looked down at him. His face was flushed, and there were tears in the corners of his eyes. He looked pitiful and said, "It won't infect my sister."

Ye Jiu couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she gritted her teeth and kissed his lips. So what if she got infected? She could just take her medicine after the kiss. She exercised regularly, so her physical condition shouldn't be that fragile.

Their lips met, and Shen Que took the initiative to stick out his tongue and lick her mouth, like an insatiable puppy.

Shen Que clearly felt the bulge in his lower abdomen. He retreated somewhat embarrassedly, immediately covering the area with the blanket, not daring to look at Ye Jiu again.

Ye Jiu was puzzled by his sudden retreat, but upon closer inspection of his action, she understood everything.

She smiled and scratched his chin. "Let me see?"

Hesitantly pulled back the covers, revealing a small tent protruding from his pants.

Ye Jiu was amazed by his wealth, yet also found his naiveté amusing—how could he be so clueless?

But since he was a patient, Ye Jiu pulled him to the bathroom and helped him with her hands.

——

Shen Que's face turned even redder, an unknown emotion filling his chest, bubbling with happiness. He was not sleepy at all, but even more energetic.

His estrus cycle, which had plagued him for days, finally found some relief. He bit his lower lip and whispered, "I...I want more..."

Ye Jiu looked at her clean hands, rolled her eyes, and said, "Get lost, use your own hands."

Chen Que (with teary eyes): Sister, you weren't like that just now.
