"Not heavy, too thin."
Ye Jiu was telling the truth. When she held the 12-year-old boy in her arms, he weighed just over 60 pounds, which was extremely thin for his age.
"That's good." He was afraid that she would dislike him because he was too heavy.
He gently placed Huaijin back on the bed and carefully grasped the hem of her clothes. "Are we friends now?"
"Yes, of course it counts."
Huaijin grinned, "You're my first friend."
Ye Jiu pressed her temples, "What a tragedy, look at the poor child."
Just as Ye Jiu finished marveling at the sight, he noticed the halo above Ye Jiu's head. Oh my god, his temples hurt even more.
The two chatted casually until nightfall, and Huaijin was too excited to sleep.
"Can you sleep with me tonight?"
"No, there are differences between men and women."
"Okay." Huaijin regretfully pulled the blanket up to cover half of her face.
"But I'll wait until you fall asleep before I leave."
Huaijin smiled again, "Okay!"
He had never spoken so much before, he thought. But he just wanted to talk to her. At school, everyone thought he was deaf and ignored him, but Ye Jiu was different; she responded to every word he said.
Huai Jin glanced cautiously at Ye Jiu, who was placing the wheelchair next to his bed, and asked, "Can we do this again tomorrow?"
"What?"
"Let's chat, and then you'll sleep with me."
"Sure, I live right next door."
Huai Jin closed his eyes with relief after receiving a satisfactory answer. Soon after, he heard even and deep breathing. Ye Jiu sat by his bedside and used her abilities.
