Chapter 33 The Arrogant Young Lady

A gentle evening breeze rustled through the branches and leaves, casting sparse shadows.

A man wearing a butterfly mask carried a petite beauty as they walked along a dirt road lined with unidentified trees.

Tonight is the opening time of the Happy Island jade trading market, and the streetlights, which are usually off, are now brightly lit.

Even at 10 p.m., the number of travelers on the streets is only increasing.

They were all members of various powerful families, hurrying along as if afraid that if they were a step too slow, others would snatch up all the good goods.

As Ye Minghan strolled leisurely through the crowd, he became the most eye-catching focus.

Although he was wearing a mask, his slender and upright figure was inexplicably eye-catching.

With broad shoulders, a narrow waist, long legs, and a jawline even more delicate than a girl's, she's truly captivating.

Several young ladies who followed the brother were eager to approach and make his acquaintance.

They saw the girl he was holding in his arms, and the girl was wearing the same butterfly mask as him.

She was wearing a large men's coat, her head buried in his shoulder, obscuring her face, with only a small section of her slender, fair legs visible.

On her feet were a pair of bright red stilettos, so eye-catching and alluring in the night.

They subconsciously assumed that she was also a mistress kept by a man.

After all, on this journey, most of the heads of families and young masters of noble families bring along mistresses, and very few bring their wives or fiancées to cause trouble.

Just as someone was about to step forward, the man in the black shirt turned and walked onto another wide road.

That's the road to the Luo family, the biggest raw stone merchant. The Luo family only accepts orders worth over 50 billion.

Those below this number will not be received.

Five hundred billion is a figure that many families can only dream of.

Putting aside whether they could come up with the money, the sheer volume of raw stones—one million tons—would be too much for many families to handle.

Therefore, no one took that road.

They came here hoping to get something for nothing, to win by cleverness, rather than emptying their coffers.

After their elder brothers explained this information to them, the young ladies' restless hearts became even more fervent.

The fact that the man in the black shirt took that road to the Luo family's residence suggests that he is very powerful!

They're rich and beautiful; they don't want to miss out.

However, their elder brother repeatedly warned them not to cause trouble here, otherwise they would be blacklisted and the entire family would never have the chance to set foot here again.

They could only wait until they returned to the ship to have another chance to meet.

Hua Qingyan was unaware of this little incident.

She was whispering to her handsome boyfriend, "Hanhan, do you think that stone contains jade?"

The girl looked at a large stone standing at the entrance of the Luo family's courtyard.

The words "Luo Family" are painted in large red ink on it.

Even at night, it is exceptionally clear.

Following the gaze of the fairy in his arms, Ye Minghan focused his attention on the boulder and said calmly, "There is a piece of top-grade icy green jade inside."

"!"

Hua Qingyan quickly looked up at his beautifully shaped jawline, her face full of admiration.

Her eyes, adorned with a sky full of stars, shone several degrees brighter.

Her slender, white hands cupped his cheeks through his sleeve, and she exclaimed in delight:

How did you figure that out?

Ye Minghan raised his brow slightly beneath the mask, shifting his gaze back to the beautiful woman's face, and smiled gently.

"Perhaps it's innate?"

Upon hearing his answer, the girl understood that his true form was the Demon Lord, and that he could sense or perhaps "see" it!

This guy is practically a money-making genius; he'll never have to worry about running out of money.

Her eyes lit up as she hugged his neck tightly, planted a kiss on his chin, and uttered a word of approval.

"Keep this skill safe, I'll make my fortune through you."

Upon hearing this, Ye Minghan's lips curled into a wicked smile.

"As long as my baby stays obediently by my side, I will have an inexhaustible supply of resources."

Hua Qingyan pecked at his lips, her smile as beautiful as a flower.

"I know, you don't need to remind me all the time."

At this moment, a middle-aged woman came out of the Luo family compound. Seeing the two strangers outside the courtyard, she assumed they had taken the wrong turn and gently reminded them:

"You're going to the jade trading market, right? You've taken the wrong road. This road ends at the sea, there's nowhere to go. Go back and follow that row of sauna trees, and you'll see it."

Hua Qingyan suddenly realized that those trees were called sauna trees. She had never heard of them before, and perhaps they were a local specialty that only existed here.

She peered through the iron bars at the woman inside, whose hair was slightly gray. She was wearing worn-out pajamas and was probably getting ready to sleep.

But because she couldn't sleep after her daughter came back, she came out to see if Luo Qing had returned.

Hua Qingyan then looked at her and began to make up a story—well, no, I meant to get them to go and rescue people:

"Hello, we just walked back from Silverbell Beach on the back of the mountain."

"I just saw a pregnant woman sitting on the rocks. I noticed she was crying, and I wondered if something had happened to her."

"I originally wanted to call her back, but the waves were too big, and we weren't familiar with the waters there or how to swim, so we didn't go into the water rashly."

Upon hearing the words "pregnant woman," Luo Qing's mother turned deathly pale and rushed into the house, shouting:

"Her father, Qing'er is in the back mountain."

A middle-aged man with a thick beard suddenly rushed out like the wind, his voice rough and his brows furrowed as he said:

"Let's go find her. It's already past ten o'clock, and she's still not back."
