That night, some people clung to each other until death, while others woke up from their dreams.

When the first ray of sunlight fell on the highest point of the Kingdom of Modor, the bell tower rang out a heavy and long bell.

The maids moved in an orderly manner, carrying various things into the queen's bedroom, and then were driven out the next second.

Celia woke up from a nightmare and sat on the bed, breathing heavily, her eyes wide open, and she didn't come back to her senses for a long time. The maids who broke in were as quiet and orderly as usual, but they still irritated her sensitive nerves. She rarely got angry and told them to get out, but even so, she still felt uncomfortable.

Her heart was beating so fast that it seemed like it was about to burst out. She pressed her chest and said, "He's been dead for so long, but his ghost is still lingering..."

She slowly exhaled, lifted the quilt, stood up, and changed into an exquisite and expensive skirt by herself.

However, just as she put on her top, she suddenly heard hurried and chaotic footsteps outside. She frowned and was about to scold them for being unruly when she heard a familiar voice.

"Is the Queen in there? Hasn't she gotten up yet?"

It was her brother, Finance Minister Du Xilun.

"I'm up, come in, brother."

Celia shouted from inside the room, and then the bedroom door was pushed open. Dusilen, dressed in a stylish uniform, walked in with a sullen face. He glanced at Celia and said unhappily, "Something happened."

"What's the matter?" Celia's heart suddenly sank.

Du Xilun closed the door and walked in, whispering, "Lan Shuang is not dead. She returned with the merchant ship and appeared in Sunset Harbor. She was rescued by General Louis. I guess she will return to the capital soon!"

"What?!" Celia was horrified and asked quickly, "How could he not be dead? Didn't you tell me that you fell into the sea? If you fell into the sea, how could you come back alive? Didn't you say it was foolproof?"

Du Xilun's face became even darker, and his skin color was not white, so it looked like the bottom of a burnt pot, which made his already ugly face look even worse.

"You're questioning me now? Weren't you the one who begged me to find a solution? How did I know she was so lucky? A normal person would have died if they fell into the sea."

Du Xilun grabbed a handful of his hair and said, "Now is not the time to dwell on this. If she comes back alive, she will definitely come to question us. We have to find a way to kill that woman!"

He made a knife gesture and slashed his neck hard.

Celia was stunned for a moment, then calmed down. "Yes, we can't keep her as a hidden danger, but now she has taken the money and left the capital. Where are we going to find her?"

"We'll find her eventually," Du Xilun said. "It doesn't matter if we can't find her for now. One of her and Lan Shuang will die eventually. If one dies, we can rest easy."

There was a malicious glint in his eyes.

Celia couldn't help but take a step back and was silent for a moment. Seeing her hesitation, Dusilen immediately stepped closer and tempted her, "What are you still hesitating about? You were the one who wanted to kill her before. Now that she's alive, you regret it? I'm telling you, Celia, there's no regret medicine. We were wrong on God's side. Even if you stop now, you won't go to heaven. So why not enjoy your time on earth?"

"I..." Celia paused, her eyes confused.

Du Xilun added, "If you retreat now and Lan Shuang inherits the throne, what will happen to you and Sisi?"

This sentence touched Celia's soft spot. She gritted her teeth and said, "You're right. Anyway, it's already like this. We have to fight to the death. We don't want to die, so let her go!"

She looked at Du Xilun and said, "We must do it thoroughly this time. Even if we fail, we can't leave any evidence behind!"

"Don't worry, I understand."

When the king received the news, it was too late. Du Xilun had already sent people to assassinate Lan Shuang. Only then did he know that his eldest daughter was not dead.

Celia sat at the dining table, sipping her red wine gracefully and saying, "Your Majesty, have you heard about Lan Shuang? Is she back?"

The king said angrily, "Yes, she is back. Louis sent her back. If she is not dead, what has she been doing outside? Don't you know that everyone is worried? What a rude girl."

Celia looked at the king's disgusted expression, and the big stone in her heart fell to the ground. She even wiped her mouth with a handkerchief to hide the smile on her lips. The king still disliked Lan Shuang as always, which was very beneficial to her.

She sighed and said, "Perhaps Lan Shuang has her own difficulties. How could a good child not consider the feelings of her family? Just like when His Majesty was sick last time, Sisi was extremely worried. She couldn't eat for several days and came to see you whenever she had time. I think Lan Shuang must be the same, but she's just not good at expressing herself."

It would have been fine if she didn't mention it. As soon as she mentioned it, the king remembered that when he was sick, only Lan Sisi was serving him by his bedside, and Lan Shuang was fooling around somewhere else.

He was immediately furious, throwing down his fork and angrily saying, "What's her motivation? She's a princess, and there are plenty of people willing to serve her if she wants. She's clearly doing this on purpose! Is she trying to spite me? Haha, she thinks I'll pay attention to her because of this? She's dreaming!"

The king's chest heaved with anger, his face flushed red. "I was planning to send someone to greet her, but now... oh, let her go back on her own!"

Celia gave a few more hypocritical words of advice, but she was already very happy in her heart.

Without the king's involvement, their assassination would be much smoother.

Even if Lan Shuang came back, what would happen? She had already lost the king's trust and favor. The king still had the final say in this country. As long as the king gave the order and let Lan Sisi succeed to the throne, it would be useless for Lan Shuang to cry until she was blind!

The weather in Modor is very changeable. It was a clear sky when we set out in the morning, but by noon, it suddenly became cloudy and the wind was so strong that we couldn't open our eyes.

The team had great difficulty moving forward. Louis got off his horse, walked to the side of the carriage and asked Lan Shuang in the carriage: "Princess, the wind is really too strong, and it's going to rain soon. Should we find a place to take shelter first?"

"Okay, thank you all for your hard work. We must be tired after walking for so long. Let's find a place sheltered from the wind and have a good rest."

Lan Shuang said through the curtain.

Louis nodded: "Okay."

He turned to the soldiers and ordered, "Go and camp at the foot of the mountain ahead!"

"yes!"

The group quickly moved towards the valley. The valley was sheltered from the wind, so the pressure was much less once they entered.

Louis led everyone to a flat, treeless place, took out camping supplies and quickly set up a shelter. He also collected some dry branches and built a fire.

Lan Shuang and Los walked out together. After standing firmly, Lan Shuang subconsciously tightened her collar to cover up some traces.
