Gu Xiao released her hand, patted the back of her hand with a smile, and said in a voice that only the two of them could hear, "Congratulations, Teacher Lan, you got what you wanted and won the Best Actress crown."
The thing she had always wanted was suddenly within her reach. Lan Shuang was still a little confused. She stared at Gu Xiao blankly and asked again, "Me?"
Gu Xiao nodded with a smile, "It's you."
The host on stage also joked, "Lan Shuang seems a little bit unbelievable. We didn't expect you to win such a prestigious award at such a young age. This is recognition of your hard work and also an encouragement for you. Please come on stage and receive your honor."
Lan Shuang stood up under the watchful eyes of the crowd, untied her shawl and handed it to Gu Xiao, then strode towards the podium.
She lifted her skirt and swayed gracefully, the spotlight cast a path of light under her feet, and she walked from the darkness to the bright and dazzling stage.
Everyone's eyes were on her. She stood in front of the microphone with a proper smile on her face. The award was presented by a prestigious senior. He handed her the wing-shaped crystal trophy and said, "Congratulations, child. I saw the film you won, and I saw a rare aura in you. Your eyes are also very resilient. I believe you will be a good actor. I hope to see you here again next year at this time."
"Thank you, teacher. I will work hard." Lan Shuang took the trophy with both hands and held it high. Her voice was clear and bright, like a gust of wind that instantly blew away the restlessness in the backstage.

"I want to thank Director Liu for giving me this opportunity. I'm grateful for her careful guidance, which allowed me to play such a memorable role. I'm also grateful to my agent and my assistant. Their hard work and efforts throughout the year paid off."
As she spoke she bowed again.
"Finally, I want to thank my fans and my family for their continued support and encouragement that has gotten me this far. I also want to thank my sister for understanding me. I'm very busy with work and don't have much time to spend with her, which I do feel guilty about. But she never complains and always puts my career first. I'm lucky to have such a sister."
At this point, her eyes couldn't help but moisten slightly, and the camera even gave a close-up, but Lan Shuang didn't cry in front of everyone. She forced herself to hold it back. She smiled, sighed, and calmed down her emotions and continued, "Finally, I want to thank my boyfriend for his tolerance, understanding, and support. He was the one who accompanied me through the most difficult times. We were together less and more apart this year, but he always squeezed out time in his busy schedule to visit me on set, or to watch a sunrise with me, or to build a snowman and have a meal with me. He loves me very much, and I love him too."
She bowed to the audience again. Although they were separated by a sea of people, their eyes met at the first moment. Gu Xiao's heart tightened, he felt sore and weak, and he almost collapsed. Even though he was a grown man, he actually felt like crying.
Lan Shuang stood up and smiled at him. Gu Xiao suddenly had a bad feeling.

After he stepped onto the stage and stood still, he exchanged glances with Lan Shuang and couldn't help laughing. Lan Shuang also laughed. The host asked in confusion, "Is this some kind of couple code?"
After asking, she handed the microphone to Gu Xiao, who took it, licked his dry lips, and said, "Actually, I also prepared a surprise for Teacher Lan today, but Teacher Lan gave me such a big surprise before me, so I seem a bit redundant."
