Jiang Han came over and opened the door, frowning at her: "Why are you knocking on the door when you're sleepy?"
Lan Shuang blinked: "Sleeping?"
Jiang Han: "?"
Lan Shuang pointed to the bed inside: "Isn't this the only bedroom here?"
Jiang Han narrowed his eyes immediately: "Sleep on the sofa."
Lan Shuang: “Ah?”
Jiang Han closed the door, then opened it again after a while and threw her a silk quilt and a pillow.
Without saying a word, he closed the door again.
Lan Shuang: “…”
She stood outside the door holding her pillow and quilt for a long time before she reacted, "Well, this treatment I've received is worse than ever before, alas..."
888: "I feel sorry for the host for a second, but Jiang Han is going too far! You are a girl after all, how can I let you sleep on the sofa?"
Lan Shuang was quite open-minded. The sofa was spacious and comfortable. She could turn over twice on it without falling off. It was okay to make do with it.
She had washed up before, and now she took off her shoes and lay down on the sofa, covering herself with the quilt, and folded her hands in front of her, looking very peaceful.
"Forget it, think about Jiang Han's identity before you speak."
888: "Um... I just checked, host, Jiang Han is really awesome!"
"Tell me."
"His family primarily develops overseas. They are the leading family in Country N, with influence spanning the globe. They control half of the world's economic lifeline. They can be said to be the uncrowned king. Jiang Han has some foreign ancestry, so his appearance is very three-dimensional. He is fluent in multiple languages and became the heir to the family at a young age. The fact that he has been able to grow up safely over the years shows his ability."
888 felt it wasn't enough, so he added, "For someone of your status, it's understandable that you'd sleep on the sofa."
Lan Shuang closed her eyes and sneered, "He's been pampered since he was a child. Do you expect him to be gentle with a stranger? Forget it. I should be thankful that he didn't make me sleep standing up like the bodyguards out there."
888 stopped talking.
Lan Shuang fell asleep soon after lying down.
…
The sea was quiet at night. Lan Shuang was sleeping soundly and had a beautiful dream of picking up money. Seeing a big banknote flying past her eyes, Lan Shuang reached out to grab it. Just as she was about to catch it, there was a loud "bang" which woke Lan Shuang up. The money she had just got flew away and her face looked extremely ugly.
"Who is it?"
She jumped up from the sofa, her hair hanging in a mess. After grabbing a handful, Lan Shuang was about to drink some water when suddenly there was another loud noise in the bedroom, "Pa——"
This time something hit the ground and broke into pieces.
Lan Shuang's hands shook and she almost splashed water all over herself.
She quickly put down the cup of water and ran towards the bedroom in her disposable slippers.
"Jiang Han? Jiang Han?"
Lan Shuang knocked on the door, but no one answered. She leaned over the door panel, and there was another "bang" sound, as if someone was smashing something inside.
"What's wrong with you? Are you okay? Can I come in?"
"Host, Jiang Han is sick..." 888 said in a low voice.
"Why are you swearing?" Lan Shuang didn't react.
"No, he's really sick. He has bipolar disorder and is now experiencing a manic-depressive episode."
888 quickly explained the disease to Lan Shuang, and the more Lan Shuang listened, the tighter her brows furrowed.
"There is really no healthy life." The heroine muttered.
"What?" 888 didn't hear clearly.
Lan Shuang said vaguely: "Nothing, I'll go in and take a look."
She pressed her wrist down and the bedroom door opened. Jiang Han didn't lock the door.
"roll--"
Jiang Han roared when he heard the door open.
Lan Shuang was not afraid. She raised her hand and groped for the light switch on the wall.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Han on the bed suddenly sat up, pounced on her, grabbed her wrist and pressed her against the wall from behind.
"Hiss—what are you doing?" Lan Shuang pressed her face against the wall and struggled for a moment: "Let go."
Jiang Han lowered his voice and asked hoarsely, "Who are you?"
His scorching breath brushed against the skin on the back of Lan Shuang's neck, and Lan Shuang couldn't help but flinch. "I'm Lan Shuang. You brought me back today. Have you forgotten?"
"Lan Shuang..."
Jiang Han loosened his grip slightly.
Lan Shuang didn't dare to struggle too hard, lest she touch his sensitive nerves again. "I heard some noise in the room, so I came to see if you were okay. Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere? Can I turn on the light?"
Jiang Han didn't say anything, nor did he let go, still holding her like that. Lan Shuang couldn't figure out what he was thinking, and for a moment she didn't dare to say anything.
After a moment, Jiang Han suddenly pushed her away and said, "Get out!"
Lan Shuang almost bumped into the door. She quickly closed it, but this time she accidentally touched the switch. She pressed it without hesitation, and the room instantly lit up.
She looked at Jiang Han, who was standing against the wall with blood still flowing from his hands. He lowered his head, and his hair fell down to cover his deep eyebrows. She didn't know what expression he had at the moment, but she could see that he was trying his best to restrain himself.
"Don't be afraid, Jiang Han. I'm not here to hurt you. Your hand is injured. Can I help you with it?"
Lan Shuang looked around the room and saw a medicine box in the corner. She ran over, picked it up and opened it. There were bandages such as gauze inside.
Jiang Han stared at her closely. Lan Shuang was not afraid. She walked up to him and tentatively pulled his hand. The person who had been quiet at first suddenly exploded, grabbed Lan Shuang's hand and bit it hard.
"Hiss--" Lan Shuang felt pain, her body instantly tensed up, and she took a breath of cold air.
Jiang Han really showed no mercy when he bit her, leaving a bloody tooth mark on her tiger's mouth.
Lan Shuang was in so much pain that tears came out.
"Jiang Han..."
She cried out, gritted her teeth and hugged Jiang Han with her backhand, letting him bite her. Her other hand fell on his back and stroked it gently, "It's okay, it's okay."
Jiang Han let out a muffled groan or two from his throat. When he tasted blood, his pupils dilated for a moment, and the blood color in his eyes slowly faded away. He opened his mouth in a daze, but Lan Shuang was already numb from the pain and didn't notice.
She comforted Jiang Han while crying.
It wasn't that she felt wronged, her tears were just a physiological reaction that she couldn't control. But in Jiang Han's ears, her crying voice was like a needle, gently piercing his heart.
"Lan Shuang..."
"Uh-huh?"
Lan Shuang stood up to see if he was awake, but Jiang Han suddenly hugged her tightly, preventing her from turning around.
"I'm here. It's okay. Did you let out some steam by biting me? Are you feeling better?"
She plucked up the courage to touch Jiang Han's head, and inexplicably felt like she was stroking the fur of a large dog.
After holding her for a long time, until Lan Shuang felt pain in her bones, Jiang Han let her go.
Lan Shuang exhaled slowly, stood up straight and wiped her tears.
Jiang Han looked at her red eyes and nose, his eyes dimmed, and he silently stretched out his injured hand.
