The Last Rose 9

Lan Shuang's heart tightened. There was no wind here, so how could the door close by itself?

She asked tentatively, "Who?"

No one answered, and the faucet, which had not leaked before, began to drip.

The hairs on Lan Shuang's back stood up.

She is brave and usually not afraid of anything, but she still gets nervous when faced with this kind of scary atmosphere.

888 was so scared that he huddled in a corner of the room and whispered, "Host, what should I do? Is this a ghost?"

"Don't be scared, you are the system. We are from the Space-Time Administration. What are you afraid of? You won't die."

888: “…”

That's right! It's a system, it won't die. Lan Shuang is a tasker, and when she dies, her soul will be taken back to the Spacetime Administration. She can be reborn by completing tasks.

What are you afraid of?

After being comforted like this, 888 felt much better.

Lan Shuang walked out of the bathroom and turned the doorknob. It didn't move at first, but it did move the second time. She opened the door and was suddenly met with a pale face. The man's eyes were cold and lifeless, and at first glance he looked like a mannequin in a window.

Lan Shuang almost bumped into him. She gasped and took a step back. "Uncle Butler, what are you doing standing here? It's scary, okay?"

The butler's glassy eyes moved slowly, then stiffened to a pulp. Before he could speak, a teasing voice suddenly rang out from behind him, "Hey, are you playing hide-and-seek?"

The voice was full of youthful vigor, piercing the cold atmosphere here like sunshine. It was an aura and feeling that was difficult to describe.

Lan Shuang felt as if she had returned from hell to the human world in an instant.

The housekeeper's expression returned to normal in the blink of an eye. He turned to look at Jiang Lusheng and said in a stiff and flat voice, "Miss Third, why are you here too? It's time for you to practice your violin. Please don't keep your violin teacher waiting."

Jiang Lusheng squeezed past him, put his arm around Lan Shuang's shoulders, and said with a smile, "I'm here to look for Xiao Liu."

The housekeeper turned his gaze from him to Lan Shuang and narrowed his eyes. "Now that we've found it, can you guys go back?"

Seeing that he seemed very reluctant to let them stay here, Lan Shuang said obediently: "Okay, we're leaving. Goodbye."

She took Jiang Lusheng's hand and left. After a few steps, she turned back and saw the housekeeper still standing there watching them, half of his body hidden in the dark.

His eyes were dark and unclear, and he looked inexplicably scary.

Lan Shuang withdrew her gaze and pulled Jiang Lusheng upstairs.

The two stood at the stairs. Lan Shuang thought for a moment and said, "Let's go to your room. Aren't you going to have violin lessons? I doubt we can move around freely before then."

Jiang Lusheng nodded: "I think so too. Maybe this process will trigger some clues. Let's go and wait for the violin teacher."

As soon as the two arrived at the door of Jiang Lusheng's room, they saw a man pacing there with his hands in his pockets, looking worried.

Lan Shuang quickly raised her eyebrows: "Teacher Liu, come and teach me the violin."

Liu Quan instinctively shuddered when he heard the voices, but when he saw that it was them, he visibly breathed a sigh of relief. He said somewhat plaintively, "You scared me to death. How can you walk without making any sound?"

Lan Shuang glanced at her feet innocently and said, "Don't blame us, it's the carpet's fault."

Liu Quan looked down and smiled awkwardly, "Yeah, I forgot about that. Where did you go just now?"

He looked at the two of them inquiringly, and seeing that Lan Shuang's hands were wet, he asked curiously, "Why are your hands wet?"

Lan Shuang raised her hand and waved it. "I was just in the living room, trying to see if there were any clues in the other rooms. I went to the lounge next to the kitchen, where there was a restroom, so I washed my hands."

Liu Quan nodded doubtfully, "Let's talk about it after we go in."

Jiang Lusheng opened the door and the three of them entered the bedroom.

The bedroom was no different from when they left, with the young bride lying quietly in the corner.

Liu Quan took a look and said awkwardly, "Actually, I can't play the violin, but a maid just knocked on the door and insisted that I play. I had no choice but to bite the bullet and come to make up the numbers. As long as we stay in the same room, it's fine, right? I don't have to teach her anything."

Jiang Lusheng sat down on the chair, and Lan Shuang stretched out her legs against the table. "That's true, but it's boring for us to just sit there. Why don't we talk about what we've discovered recently?"

Liu Quan's expression became more serious when he mentioned this. "Since we want to exchange information, you should also tell us, right?"

"Of course, it's a courtesy."

Lan Shuang smiled and said, "To show my sincerity, let me go first."

The smile on her lips faded slightly, and she suddenly dropped a bombshell, "There might really be a ghost here, or someone has bad intentions."

Liu Quan tensed up instantly, "What do you mean?"

Jiang Lusheng also looked over.

Lan Shuang stood up and paced around the room. "Didn't I just go to the kitchen? There's a lounge over there with a bathroom and a shower. When I went in to wash my hands, the water from the sink suddenly turned into hair."

"What?" Liu Quan licked his lips. "Is this true? Don't scare me."

Lan Shuang spread her hands innocently: "Why would I lie to you? What's the benefit?"

Liu Quan choked and said, "That's right."

Thinking back to the woman in red that Zheng Mingxin said he saw before, goosebumps suddenly appeared.

Lan Shuang ignored his suddenly ugly expression and continued, "Long black hair kept flowing out of the faucet, stained with blood, and there was a faint smell of decay. When I turned off the faucet, the door outside suddenly closed by itself, and the faucet started dripping."

Liu Quan pursed his lips and shuddered, "What happened next?"

"When I opened the door, the housekeeper was standing there with a sullen face. To be honest, his face was scarier than his hair at that time."

Lan Shuang was still terrified when she mentioned it, "Luckily, Brother Jiang arrived in time and saved me."

Liu Quan immediately looked at Jiang Lusheng.

Jiang Lusheng nodded and testified, "I was in another room at the time. We agreed before entering that the door would be open. If anything was wrong, I should shout. My door closed by itself, but there was no wind in that place."

Liu Quan completely believed it this time, "Then why did you come out?"

Jiang Lusheng shrugged. "I saw the door was closed, and I was afraid of an accident, so I went out. I happened to see the butler standing at the door of the lounge, so I hurried to catch up. He caught us up."

"What's your room?" Lan Shuang asked curiously.

Jiang Lusheng twitched his lips slightly. "It's a small warehouse with a lot of random stuff in it, including toys, murals, and a lot of swords. There's even a hunting rifle locked in one of the cabinets. The drawer underneath is also locked and can't be opened. I don't know what's inside."
