Chapter 9 The Witchcraft Boy 8

Chapter 9 The Witchcraft Boy 8

However, Xu Qiuqiu had no intention of listening to 003. She already felt bad about it, so how could she cheat people out of their money? She went to a nearby jewelry shop.

She took the hairpin off and asked the pawnshop owner how much she could pawn it for.

Before the boss could take it, Qi Chen grabbed her hand and stopped her, "Qiuqiu, no need to pawn it, I brought money with me."

After saying that, he took the hairpin from her hand and carefully inserted it back into her hair.

Looking into his earnest and focused eyes, Xu Qiuqiu's heart suddenly raced. She had never been treated like this by a boy before, as if she were some priceless treasure.

The shop owner suddenly felt like he'd been force-fed dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection), and looked at the two speechlessly, "If you're not interested, then get out of here and don't interfere with my business!"

After being scolded by her boss, Xu Qiuqiu immediately came to her senses and distanced herself from Qi Chen.

Qi Chen smiled at her somewhat embarrassedly, "Sorry, Qiuqiu."

Xu Qiuqiu shook her head, indicating that she was fine, and her previously wildly beating heart calmed down.

Knowing that Xu Qiuqiu had no money, Qi Chen gave her a heavy money bag filled with some loose silver and silver coins, and said to her, "This should be enough to buy whatever you want. If it's not enough, I also brought some large silver notes, but it's a bit troublesome, we have to go to the money exchange to get the silver."

Taking the money bag, Xu Qiuqiu immediately thought, "What an angel! He's so kind!" The more she thought about it, the more guilty she felt for lying to him before. But then she wondered, "Would he be angry if I told him the truth?"

“Host, I told you the second male lead would definitely be rich,” 003 immediately interjected.

“You don’t need to tell me, I think he’s exactly like the foolish, rich, and stupid son of a landlord now,” Xu Qiuqiu agreed.

Since that was the case, Xu Qiuqiu didn't intend to be coy. She told Qi Chen that she wanted to buy a carriage so that the journey home would be faster, and Qi Chen took her to choose a carriage.

After buying the carriage, Xu Qiuqiu originally wanted to hire a driver, but Qi Chen said he could ride a horse, so she gave up the idea.

Qi Chen helped Xu Qiuqiu into the carriage, and then lifted the curtain to let her in. He followed her in and placed a package of pastries wrapped in oil paper in her hand. "Qiuqiu, I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I just bought some. You can eat some if you get hungry on the way."

Xu Qiuqiu took it, looking at Qi Chen with a puzzled expression. "When did you buy this? Haven't you always been with me?"

"When you were choosing a carriage just now," Qi Chen smiled gently, "if you didn't like it, I'll buy you what you like to eat after we get to the city."

After saying that, he lifted the carriage curtain and went out to drive the carriage.

Xu Qiuqiu opened the oil paper package; the pastries were exquisite and beautiful, and had a sweet aroma.

She was touched; she hadn't expected him to take such good care of her.

The carriage started moving slowly, and the wind blew through Qi Chen's hair and the delicate silver ornaments on his body, making a melodious and pleasant sound.

On the wooden floor, Qi Gu Nan slowly woke up. He opened his eyes and looked around. It was Qing Qing's room. How did he end up fainting here?

He looked at the incense burner on the table, which had burned out. His expression was blank. Who had managed to drug him so secretly? By the time he realized something was wrong, he had already inhaled a large amount of the drug, so he didn't have time to take the antidote.

He stood up and noticed that his clothes were a bit disheveled. He also discovered that the token at his waist was missing. His face darkened, and he immediately rushed to the gate leading out of the valley.

The two gatekeepers saw him and immediately bowed, calling him "Young Master".

"Did anyone leave today with my token?" Qi Gunan asked, his expression grim.

"Yes." The two gatekeepers, unaware of what was happening and confused as to why their young master looked so frightened, answered with some fear.

"Who is it?" Qi Gunan's expression darkened further upon hearing this.

"It was Young Master Qi Chen who took a girl in red out, saying that the young master ordered him to take her out."

"You bastards! You believe everything he says?" Qi Gunan cursed angrily.

The two gatekeepers immediately knelt down in fright. "Young master, he has your token, we have no choice but to believe him."

The girl in red? Is that Xu Xiaoqiu?

Qi Gunan suddenly realized something, and he lost interest in teaching the two a lesson. Feeling a little flustered, he rushed to the bamboo forest maze.

When he entered the cabin, he found it empty, with no one inside. There were clothes he had given to Xu Xiaoqiu on the floor, and shoe prints on them.

Enraged, he slammed his fist on the table, which cracked open.

Well done, Qi Chen actually dared to take his people away.

Qi Gunan didn't believe at all that Xu Xiaoqiu wanted to leave, after all, Xu Xiaoqiu loved him so much.

If Xu Xiaoqiu leaves, what will happen to his Qingqing? He needs to find Xu Xiaoqiu.

They may not have gone far yet; where could they have gone?

In the carriage, Xu Qiuqiu was feeling drowsy. The carriage ride was not comfortable at all. The ancient roads were not smooth at all, and the bumpy ride made her feel very uncomfortable. It was really quite a torment.

She was feeling a bit sleepy, but the jolt woke her up again, making it impossible for her to sleep. She was not only dizzy from sitting, but also suffering from discomfort.

"003, at this rate, when will I be able to get back to the Hehuan Sect?" Xu Qiuqiu asked while feeling unwell. Sigh, her physical condition was too poor, making her feel uncomfortable all over.

"It will probably take three to four days, not too long. A day will pass quickly!" 003 comforted her.

"Why do I feel like every day is an eternity?" Xu Qiuqiu felt like a wilted eggplant after being hit by frost.

"Why don't you go out for some fresh air, host? Are you feeling a little carsick?" 003 said, looking at her pale face.

"Hmm, maybe..." Xu Qiuqiu thought as she lifted the curtain and sat on the wooden board in front of the carriage. She immediately felt better, and the nausea and discomfort she had just felt had subsided considerably.

Qi Chen looked at Xu Qiuqiu, whose complexion was rather pale, and asked worriedly, "Qiuqiu, what's wrong?"

Xu Qiuqiu looked at the handsome young man in front of her. He had fair skin and a pair of beautiful peach blossom eyes. When he looked at her, his gaze was focused and charming. One more look would make her fall in love.

She wondered why the female lead, who was saved by the second male lead, ended up with the male lead. Was the male lead even more handsome than the second male lead?

However, the storyline of the second male lead was not included in the plot she was watching, and 003 only knew a little bit about the second male lead.
