On her first day as deskmates with Shao Feiyang, Hua Cai witnessed firsthand what a top student truly was.
She thought it was already amazing that Ruan Yun could maintain her academic excellence under such conditions, but little did she know that there was always someone better.
Watching Shao Feiyang calmly answer the questions and sit down, Hua Cai looked at him with a hint of horror.
Upon regaining consciousness, Shao Feiyang instantly caught Hua Cai's gaze, glanced at her smugly, and mouthed something to her.
Are you shocked, baby?
Shocking my ass.
Hua Cai glared at him fiercely, then turned her face away, only to meet Liu Leng's gaze.
Liu Ling seemed surprised that Hua Cai would suddenly look over, her face flushed, and she hurriedly lowered her head.
"Ruan Yun, please answer this question." The teacher's authoritative voice rang out again, and Hua Cai suddenly became the second student in Pei Lan School's history to be called out. She stood up with a bewildered look on her face, staring at the bunch of gibberish on the screen, speechless with the teacher on the podium.
"This—" Hua Cai frantically searched her memory, only to discover, to her dismay, that Ruan Yun had no idea what this new knowledge was.
The teacher's gaze visibly darkened: "Ruan Yun usually performs well. You should continue to listen attentively in class and learn from Shao Feiyang. Sit down."
After saying that, he waved his hand at Hua Cai, as if to say that he would let her off this time.
Hua Cai sat down, feeling incredibly frustrated, and sure enough, she saw Shao Feiyang winking at her again.
This is absolutely outrageous!
Hua Cai was furious. She turned to look at the podium and flicked her fingers three times under the table.
A faint clicking sound rang out, and Shao Feiyang's heart skipped a beat. He immediately sensed something was wrong and slammed his arm against the table as if lightning was about to strike his feet.
Crash—in the blink of an eye, the chair Shao Feiyang was sitting on shattered into pieces the instant he stood up, and the pieces piled up on the floor.
Everyone was watching.
Even though Shao Feiyang was mature beyond his years, he stood there speechless, looking at Hua Cai.
He was certain that his chair hadn't been tampered with; the problem must have occurred just moments ago.
What did she do?
Ding-a-ling—the crisp sound of the bell rang at just the right moment, and the instructor, with remarkable foresight, immediately announced the end of get out of class, without a moment's lapse in judgment to check on the person in question.
No sooner had the tutor left than Hua Cai rushed out of the classroom and headed straight for the school cafeteria.
This was Hua Cai's first time eating at the school cafeteria. While the school wasn't great in other aspects, the cafeteria was certainly luxurious.
Ruan Yun stayed in Pei Lan for a year, but she had no memory of anything related to the restaurant. Her whole life was filled with a listless, dejected feeling.
The large restaurant looked somewhat empty, perhaps because it was the beginning of the month and these young rich kids still had extra money to squander, so there were very few people in the restaurant.
This made things easier for Hua Cai. After quickly scanning the menus at each window, Hua Cai headed straight for the window with the most meat dishes.
Just kidding, of course she needs to eat meat to nourish her body!
When Hua Cai turned around with a large tray to find a seat, she was startled by the rapidly changing scene before her.
Good heavens, is this still the same empty restaurant from before? It's practically a giant beauty pageant! Every step you take, you're greeted by a variety of fragrances that make you want to sneeze.
Hua Cai cautiously protected her tray, tiptoeing to see if there was any space. To her surprise, apart from the area around her, there was almost no one else around.
They're all crazy and freaks, crowding together and chattering away endlessly.
Hua Cai muttered to herself, wandering around in a big circle to find a place to sit down, only to find that wherever she went, the crowd followed her.
"...I'm warning you, don't push me, keep your distance or I'll explode." Hua Cai tried to push the plates up, nimbly avoiding a long-haired beauty who was walking backwards and almost crashed into a car.
The chattering crowd fell silent instantly. A surge of energy broke through the crowd, and Shao Feiyang, impeccably dressed, emerged. Upon seeing Hua Cai, he rushed towards her as if she were his savior, grabbing her arm and leaning against her like a boneless beast: "Darling, why did you take so long to come out? These women are absolutely terrifying."
Hua Cai's hand holding the plate wobbled, almost dropping it. She struggled to steady herself, supporting the plate with one hand while pulling it away with all her might with the other.
"Let go! Let go now! Have some self-respect in public! If you don't let go, I'll hit you!" Hua Cai panicked as more and more people gathered around, some even taking pictures with their phones.
“I heard you’ve been in a bad situation in Peilan. Let’s start a relationship, and I’ll let you cling to my coattails.” Shao Feiyang tightened his grip on Hua Cai’s arm, glanced at the stunned onlookers, and whispered suggestively in Hua Cai’s ear, “Look at their expressions, how interesting.”
You're such a big, wonderful devil!
A clear cross appeared on Hua Cai's forehead. She glared at Shao Feiyang with a dark expression and suddenly raised her elbow.
Shao Feiyang was prepared and nimbly dodged. He turned around and was about to close in again when Hua Cai threw a backhand punch directly at Shao Feiyang's chest. Taking advantage of his retreat, she backed away, instantly creating a distance of more than ten meters between them.
Hua Cai gave Shao Feiyang a warning glare, then casually placed her plate on the empty seat next to her and sat down.
The restaurant is only so big. If Shao Feiyang really wants to come, it doesn't matter whether he sits here or in the farthest corner.
Shao Feiyang gazed intently at Hua Cai, who was enjoying her meal not far away.
With his skills, even a master from the Shao family who had cultivated internal energy wouldn't be able to defeat him in one move. How did she manage to do it?
"Feiyang, are you alright? That girl was so rude." Seeing that Shao Feiyang had been wronged, a group of pretty girls surrounded him again with concern.
Shao Feiyang glanced indifferently at the person who spoke, then walked towards Hua Cai without saying a word and sat down opposite her.
During the meal, Hua Cai only glanced at the person opposite her before lowering her head to continue with her own business.
Under Shao Feiyang's "affectionate gaze," Hua Cai calmly finished her meal and got up to leave.
Shao Feiyang was silent for a moment, then got up and quickly caught up with him: "Let's talk."
"What's there to talk about?" Hua Cai said impatiently, walking past the person blocking her way and continuing towards the classroom.
"Don't you have any goals in life?" Shao Feiyang felt that he couldn't find any common ground with the person in front of him. He had asked so many people to investigate, but he still couldn't figure out what this person wanted.
