Chapter 133 The Controlling Actor 15 (1/2)

Before the excitement of the awards ceremony had even died down, Mo Jinnian seemed to have a switch flipped, and his pursuit of Zi Xi escalated from gentlemanly waiting to a full-scale siege.

At 6:15 a.m., Zixi's van slowly drove into the advertising shooting base.

Before the morning mist had completely dissipated, a tall, slender figure was already standing outside the photography studio.

Today, Mo Jinnian wore a dark gray casual suit without a tie, his collar casually open. The way he leaned against the hood of the Maybach made him look like a still from a fashion magazine.

The most incongruous thing is that this movie star, known for his aloofness, is carefully holding a pink thermos cup with wisps of steam rising from its rim.

"Brother Mo... what's wrong...?"

The assistant's gasp caught in his throat.

Mo Jinnian had already opened the door of the nanny van and handed the thermos to Zi Xi, who was still a little drowsy: "Red date and goji berry tea, with a little brown sugar added. Teacher Zhao, drink it while it's hot."

Zi Xi blinked her sleepy eyes, and the engraving on her thermos, "Best Actress," shone brightly in the morning light.

"You didn't stay here all night, did you?!"

She looked up at the faint dark circles under the man's eyes and instantly regained some clarity.

"On the way."

Mo Jinnian lied without changing his expression, but of course he didn't wait there all night. Instead, he set dozens of alarms to wake him up several hours in advance.

Zi Xi unscrewed the lid of the cup, and a sweet, fragrant steam wafted out.

She glanced up at Mo Jinnian and calculated the time; it had taken her to travel from Mo Jinnian's apartment to here across three districts.

"You call this 'going along the way'?"

She shook her phone screen; it read 6:18.

Mo Jinnian suddenly leaned down, his scent of minty aftershave enveloping him: "Teacher Zhao."

He lowered his voice, his warm breath brushing against her earlobe: "Teacher Zhao is a very important person to me, so for Teacher Zhao, the ends of the earth are just a route."

At the entrance to the film set, the staff holding coffees were all frozen in shock.

Zi Xi turned and left, while Mo Jinnian stood there, looking tenderly at her reddened earlobes.

Three days later, the brand event followed closely behind. Zixi was elegantly conversing with the host when the lights at the brand event venue suddenly dimmed, and a suppressed gasp suddenly erupted from the audience.

The spotlight instinctively swept towards the source of the commotion.

Mo Jinnian, who should have been attending Paris Fashion Week, was sitting in the first row of VIP seats.

The well-tailored suit accentuated her broad shoulders and narrow waist. Her left hand rested casually on her knee, while her right hand held up a light stick that seemed completely out of place with her aloof image. The pink and purple character "曦" (Xi) shone brightly in the darkness.

"Now, please welcome Mo Yingdi to reveal the answer..."

Before the host could finish speaking, the man had already taken a long stride up the steps.

As he walked a few steps to Zi Xi's side, his custom-made leather shoes precisely stepped on the hem of her trailing skirt, forcing her to reach out and hold onto his arm.

In the backstage interview room, a reporter, suppressing a laugh, asked, "Did Actor Mo come here today specifically to support Zi Xi?"

"Of course not."

"How can I be the same as those fans outside?"

"I'm here to woo my future wife."

Mo Jinnian unbuttoned his suit jacket and turned his head to look at Zi Xi, who was drinking water.

"Cough cough cough..."

Zi Xi coughed up water droplets that landed on her collarbone, refracting into tiny sparkles under the flash of the light.

"Don't rush, Teacher Zhao, drink slowly."

Mo Jinnian casually wiped the water stain with his thumb, and a burst of camera shutters immediately rang out from the audience.

The imported goods supermarket was packed with people on Friday evening.

Zi Xi pulled her baseball cap down to her nose and was bending over to pick out navel oranges when suddenly three packs of dried mangoes appeared in her shopping cart.

"What a coincidence, Teacher Zhao also likes this brand?"
