Chapter 15 The Love-Deprived CEO 15 (1/2)

"Mr. Fu, you've already put your engagement ring and wedding ring on my finger, where do you expect me to run off to?"

Zi Xi smiled and poured warm water on his collarbone.

"No, it's because I'm afraid I'll lose you, Xixi. If I do anything in the future that makes you angry, you can hit me or scold me, just don't leave me."

"I love you, I really can't live without you... Just like that skydiving moment, I scared you..."

"I thought you weren't afraid... but that was just what I thought, it was my own wishful thinking..."

He licked the water off her fingertips, rambling on and on, until Zi Xi turned and covered his mouth with hers. It took him a long time to finally release her, panting.

"Logically speaking, tonight is our wedding night. Are you sure you want to keep nagging on and on?"

Water splashes everywhere, unlocking a new spot in the bathroom.

The iron door of the detention cell slammed shut behind me, making a metallic clanging sound that sent chills down my spine.

Bai Qianqian staggered and fell onto the musty hard bed, the handcuff marks on her wrists throbbing with pain.

She stared blankly at the mottled water stains on the opposite wall, and suddenly remembered that in her previous life, there was also beautiful patterned wallpaper in her bedroom in the manor.

"I can't think about it anymore, there's no hope left... I can't think about it..."

She lay on her side on the hard bed, unconsciously biting her nails, until she tasted blood and woke up with a start.

The sharp pain in her fingertips paled in comparison to the suffocating feeling in her chest that threatened to tear her apart.

On the morning of the third day in the detention center, Bai Qianqian was awakened by the sound of a drunk man vomiting in the next cell.

Dim light shone through the iron fence, casting prison-like shadows on the concrete ground.

"He clearly said... he said he would never let me go..."

Her voice was hoarse like sandpaper, and the pain from her broken nail briefly brought her to her senses, making it impossible for her to fall back asleep.

On the seventh day of her exercise period in the detention center, Bai Qianqian saw a moth fly towards the high-voltage electric fence on the playground.

A blinding blue light flashed, and the charred corpse floated down. She suddenly burst into hysterical laughter, startling the other detainees who all backed away.

"Men are all liars! They said they'd never let me go, that they'd fight to the death!!!"

Her laughter gradually turned into sobs, and her nails dug deeply into her palms.

As the guards carried the somewhat deranged Bai Qianqian back to her detention cell, she suddenly saw news about the Fu Group playing on television.

The scene shows Fu Senran adjusting Zi Xi's dress in the island's church. The man who used to be indifferent to her is now showing tenderness to another woman. They didn't invite anyone to their wedding, but at this moment, their happy moment is being witnessed by audiences across the country.

"Aaaaaaah!! No way!! No way!!"

Bai Qianqian rushed towards the television, intending to smash it, but it was placed too high for her to reach. Frustrated and enraged beneath the television, she was dragged back to the detention room.

On the morning of the fifteenth day in the detention center, when the police came to process the release procedures, they found Bai Qianqian combing her hair in front of a small mirror. She had used the toothpaste she had secretly hidden to draw lipstick on the wall and tied torn strips of bed sheet into a hairband.

"He came to pick me up, didn't he?"

“I knew it. He loves me so much, he definitely wouldn’t want to keep me locked up for too long.”

She gave a sweet smile to the air.

The police officers were a little uneasy. They exchanged glances and silently added a line to the file: "A mental evaluation is recommended."

As she walked out of the detention center, the blazing summer sun stung her eyes. Bai Qianqian squinted at the other side of the road, where there was no one, only a single sycamore leaf slowly drifting down.

She suddenly knelt down and let out a wild howl. The sound was so shrill that the police inside came out to take a look and then went back inside. Soon, Bai Qianqian's figure was swallowed up by the noise of the city and disappeared from everyone's sight.
