Chapter 224 The Sinister Clan Head (Part 1/2)

Zi Xi stood in front of a huge full-length dressing mirror, wearing a custom-made wedding dress that had just been flown in.

Intricate lace draped her body, and on the floor-length skirt, tiny, hand-sewn crystals refracted the light, creating a dazzling, star-like effect.

Pei Mozhi knelt down in front of Zi Xi.

His expensive, custom-made trousers lay casually on the soft carpet. He lowered his head, his expression more focused than ever before, even with a hint of almost pious solemnity.

His movements were extremely gentle, as if he were handling a rare treasure.

Long, slender fingers carefully smoothed out the wrinkles in Zi Xi's skirt, occasionally brushing against her bare ankles, sending a jolt of electricity through her.

"This teardrop-shaped aquamarine complements you, Xixi, only you."

Pei Mozhi's fingertips gently brushed against the largest main diamond on the side of her skirt, the sound deep and pleasant.

He tilted his head slightly to look at Zi Xi, his beautiful peach blossom eyes filled with undisguised amazement and an intense, unyielding love.

Just then, a financial news headline popped up unexpectedly on Zixi's tablet in bold black font.

[Breaking News] The Lin Group's capital chain has broken down, multiple projects have failed, and it is suspected of being targeted by capital. The stock price was halted as soon as the market opened! Lin Chen, the head of the Lin Group, has reportedly filed for personal bankruptcy protection.

Zi Xi subconsciously looked at Pei Mozhi, who was kneeling on the ground.

He continued to focus intently on smoothing out the last tiny wrinkle on Zi Xi's skirt, as if the earth-shattering news was nothing more than an insignificant speck of dust.

His profile appeared exceptionally clear and serene in the afternoon light, without a trace of emotion, and even the corners of his lips still held that gentle smile from before.

He straightened his skirt, his fingertips lingering on Zi Xi's ankle for a final, reluctant moment before calmly standing up.

"My bride."

He lowered his head and placed a soft, feather-like kiss on the back of Zi Xi's hand with his warm lips. When he looked up at Zi Xi, his eyes were filled with pure tenderness.

"So beautiful, so beautiful that I want to hide you away and not let anyone see you."

"But I know you don't like it."

Pei Mozhi's tone carried a childlike domineering quality.

Besides that class monitor, there was also Li Feng, the academic representative who had ulterior motives at the class reunion and placed a bottle of mineral water laced with something in a conspicuous position.

He has completely disappeared from everyone's sight.

Meanwhile, another seemingly unrelated subplot quietly glides towards its end in a corner unnoticed by anyone.

Pei Mozhi had also been closely following the entanglement between Jin Yue and Fu Moyan because Zi Xi wanted to know.

Ambitious Jin Yue tries to use her child as leverage to curry favor with Fu Moyan.

After receiving a breakup fee from the Fu family, she abandoned her child and left with Fu Moyan without hesitation.

Even more appalling, before leaving, Jin Yue actually hired someone to run over Lin Wei and kill her.

By a twist of fate, Lin Wei wasn't in the car; instead, Fu Moyan was there.

The car accident caused Fu Moyan to lose both legs.

Even so, Lin Wei did not break off the engagement.

She simply hired a caregiver to look after Fu Moyan, leaving him to fend for himself.

"These are all irrelevant junk messages."

Pei Mozhi's lazy voice rang out from above.

He pulled his arm, which had been resting on Zi Xi's shoulder, closer, drawing her into his embrace. His warm chest pressed against her back, and his chin rested gently on the top of her head, rubbing against her lazily.

"Don't let those dirty things pollute your eyes, Xixi."

His voice deepened, carrying a soothing magic, and his warm breath brushed against Zi Xi's ear.

There was no noise of guests, no elaborate ceremonies, and no priest's prayers.

The whole world was so quiet that only the sound of waves kissing the beach could be heard.

Pei Mozhi turned around and faced Zi Xi.

He wore a simple white linen shirt, with the top two buttons of the collar casually undone, revealing his smooth collarbone.
