Chapter 277 The Paranoid Painter 7 (1/2)

Chapter 277 The Obsessive Painter 7 When her lips covered his, a clear thought entered Jin Ye's chaotic consciousness.

Breathe, breathe! I've only worked here a few days, I can't die like this, otherwise where will I find such a high salary?

The voice was gentle, like a beam of light piercing through the deep sea.

Jin Ye took a deep breath and coughed as he regained consciousness.

He opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was Zi Xi's worried face, her lips slightly moist and red from the artificial respiration he had just received.

Then he realized he was lying on the ground, and Zi Xi was kneeling beside him with her hand on his chest.

"You...I just..."

His voice was hoarse.

Zi Xi visibly breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him wake up.

[You suddenly have difficulty breathing, like you're drowning. Do you need to go to the hospital?]

She quickly grabbed her tablet and started typing.

Jin Ye shook his head and struggled to sit up.

"No, I just...do it occasionally."

He felt irritated by showing his embarrassment and vulnerability in front of others.

"I'm just sick."

He never explained his situation to anyone, but the words just kept coming out of his mouth.

Zi Xi nodded thoughtfully, without asking any further questions, and simply handed him a glass of water.

The moment she turned around, Jin Ye clearly heard her inner thoughts.

He seems to be in a lot of pain. What kind of illness would make someone feel like they're drowning? Could it be that he's hallucinating swimming in a pool?

Jin Ye was stunned.

For years, people have either admired his talent, feared his paintings, or coveted the value he possessed.

But no one knew that he was living a life of great suffering.

He felt both terrified and inexplicably thrilled by being seen through.

A sudden wave of self-loathing washed over me again.

He was a monster, just like my grandfather said, a lowly creature who couldn't even control his own emotions.

He suddenly stood up, rushed to the workbench, and grabbed the sharp utility knife.

"I am a mistake that should be erased..."

Just as the knife tip was about to pierce his skin, a hand firmly grabbed his wrist.

Zi Xi had arrived beside him without him noticing, and her strength was unexpectedly great.

The two remained locked in a stalemate until Jin Ye finally released his grip, and the utility knife clattered to the ground.

Zi Xi did not immediately let go of his hand, but instead gently brushed the old scars on his wrist with her other hand, and bent down to pick up the utility knife.

Then she turned around, poured herself another glass of water, and handed it to Jin Ye.

Jin Ye didn't take the water glass. Instead, he suddenly hugged Zi Xi and buried his face in the crook of her neck, like a lost child who had finally found his way home.

Zi Xi stiffened for a moment, but did not push him away.

She was still holding the water glass in one hand, and hesitated for a moment with the other before gently patting his back.

Jin Ye had never been so close to anyone before.

He felt Zi Xi's body was soft and warm, with a faint scent of gardenia shampoo.

Jin Ye brought his nose close and sniffed, wanting to smell more.

But the bad thing is, he feels his body reacting to this intimacy.

A primal, physiological impulse gathers in the lower abdomen.

Something poked me.

[Is he aroused? To still be able to...men are truly incomprehensible creatures.]

Zi Xi's thoughts suddenly entered his consciousness, accompanied by obvious surprise.

"You...you should go home and rest today. You won't be drawing today."

Jin Ye pushed her away abruptly as if he had been burned, his cheeks turning red for the first time.

He stammered and turned away to hide his embarrassment.
