However, there's really no need to learn sign language; it's too much trouble.
She couldn't help but laugh, shook her head, and typed,
"No, I've already learned it, you can't waste my hard work."
"First, learn this 'Good Morning' greeting and do it to me a hundred times every day."
Jin Ye, however, was unusually persistent. He grabbed her wrist and half-forced her to imitate the "I love you" gesture.
Zi Xi's hand was enveloped by him, and she awkwardly made that gesture.
She could feel the warmth and slight trembling of his palm through her fingertips.
"He's so persistent... Well, I'll play along with him for a bit."
She thought to herself.
So for the next hour, the art studio was transformed into a sign language classroom.
Jin Ye, like a strict teacher, taught Zi Xi a few simple gestures: hello, thank you, sorry, and most importantly, I need you.
"This is still the most practical one."
“If you need me, use this gesture, and I will come to you no matter where I am.”
Jin Ye explained in a serious tone, but her ears were still turning red.
Zixi learns very slowly, but very diligently.
When she finally completed the "I need you" gesture independently, Jin Ye's eyes deepened.
"Very good, now, let's learn this."
His voice was low and hoarse as he made the "I love you" gesture again.
Zi Xi mimicked his movements and curiously typed: "Does this mean 'Good morning'?"
"This means you are beautiful."
Jin Ye stared at her for a long time before speaking.
[You're lying, this means I love you, don't try to fool me.]
Zi Xi immediately started typing.
Jin Ye showed no embarrassment at the fact that his scheme had been exposed.
"Since you already know, why are you asking?"
He chuckled softly and gently stroked her cheek.
His fingertips were warm, and his touch was as soft as a feather.
Zi Xi felt her heart racing.
She looked at Jin Ye's face, which was so close to hers. His eyes, which always held madness and melancholy, were now crystal clear, reflecting her slightly flushed face.
She slowly raised her hand and made the gesture she had just learned.
Gently touch your chest with your fist, then extend your thumb, index finger, and little finger forward.
Jin Ye's breathing visibly faltered.
He took her hand and pressed it against his heart.
Through the thin fabric of his clothes, she could feel his rapid heartbeat.
Say it again.
His voice was hoarse.
Zi Xi made that gesture again, this time with greater fluency and confidence.
Jin Ye suddenly pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.
"This is the most beautiful confession I've ever heard."
His chin rested on the top of her head, his voice low and trembling.
Confessing my feelings? But I can't speak.
Zi Xi thought to herself, but her arms wrapped around him again.
“I can hear you saying you love me.”
“I heard it clearly.”
Jin Ye could indeed hear her every thought.
Zi Xi leaned on Jin Ye's shoulder, her fingers unconsciously playing with his buttons.
Why did you suddenly want to learn sign language?
She suddenly remembered something, sat up straight, and typed a question.
"On the day of your solo exhibition, I saw how you were facing the reporters."
"I think there might be a way for us to communicate more directly. No need for paper and pen, no need for technology, just this."
Jin Ye remained silent for a moment before answering.
He made a simple gesture.
Pointing his index finger at Zi Xi, he then bent it twice.
Is this what friends mean?
Zi Xi guessed.
