Chapter 36 The Temperamental School Bully 14 (1/2)

In a private room at a high-end club in S City, the lighting was dim and ambiguous, and the whiskey in the glass reflected an amber light.

Chu Chenzhou leaned back on the leather sofa, tapping his fingers lightly on the side of his glass, listening to his friends chatting beside him.

"Speaking of which, did the Jiang family recently move to City B?"

"Chairman Jiang actually left the headquarters in S City and went to B City just to be with his son? Is this the charm of having an only child?"

Zhou Heng, the young master of a real estate group, swirled his wine glass, speaking in a teasing tone.

"No way, I heard he's running back and forth between the two places. The Jiang Group is so big, how could Chairman Jiang leave so easily?"

"It seems that his son was in a car accident when he was young and developed a strange, incurable disease. It's quite pitiful."

Someone nearby chimed in, their smile carrying a knowing meaning.

"Pity? You should pity yourself. The Jiang family lets him go to school wherever they want, and you call that pitiful? That's called the privilege of being an only child. He's been spoiled rotten, okay?"

Zhou Heng scoffed. He had heard about the temper of the young master of the Jiang family.

The crowd burst into laughter, and someone looked at Chu Chenzhou: "Brother Chu, didn't your biological sister insist on going to Chongde High School with that fake one? The young master of the Jiang family is there!"

Chu Chenzhou was lost in thought, but took a sip of wine with a calm expression: "Hmm, she has too narrow a perspective because of her time outside. She insisted on following that person who was kicked out of the house to such a remote place. We couldn't stop her, and we didn't want to. In any case, she was just a tool for a marriage alliance."

"Oh! Doesn't that mean your Chu family has a chance to form a marriage alliance with the Jiang family?"

"Although the Jiang family has kept a low profile in recent years, they have a solid foundation, and their group is thriving. If we could get in touch with them..."

Zhou Heng raised an eyebrow at Chu Chenzhou, trying to see if he was moved.

"My sister who just came back... is a shallow-minded fool. Even if the young master of the Jiang family were blind, he wouldn't be interested in her."

"And that adopted daughter is even worse, a bookworm who just buries herself in books..."

Chu Chenzhou was indeed tempted; what if he stumbled upon a lucky break?

But his expression remained unchanged. He recalled the phone call from Chu's mother saying that Chu Baiyi had caused trouble at school. He raised his eyes and a hint of mockery flashed in them. His words were extremely derogatory towards Chu Baiyi.

Zhou Heng shut up awkwardly, and the others immediately changed the subject.

With no one bothering him, Chu Chenzhou's thoughts drifted away. It seemed he would have to go home and tell his parents about the Jiang family.

He put down his wine glass and listened to their conversation.

"I heard he has a bad temper, doesn't do well in school, likes to fight, and is a notorious bully at school."

"Oh my, with the Jiang family protecting them, no one dares to mess with them, whether they're school bullies or not."

"That's right. A person's fate is determined at birth. Take the young master of the Jiang family, for example. Chairman Jiang is devoted to his wife. He is the only son in the family, so no one will compete with him for the family fortune. In the future, the entire Jiang family will belong to him."

"I'm so envious... unlike us..."

Chu Chenzhou didn't speak, but gently stroked the rim of the cup, his eyes filled with an inscrutable emotion.

Is he a hot-tempered school bully?

He thought that since everyone in school was probably quite innocent, he suddenly remembered Chu Baiyi's youthful face and wondered if he could actually let her try to seduce him.

He tilted his head back to finish the rest of his drink, then stood up, picked up his suit jacket, and said, "I'm leaving now."

Zhou Heng asked in surprise, "So early?"

Chu Chenzhou loosened his tie and said in a calm tone, "My parents have something to attend to."

Some things can only be clearly explained by going back in person.

The next day, on the rooftop of Chongde High School, the midday sun was so bright it was hard to open one's eyes. Chu Bai leaned against the rusty wire fence, his phone screen displaying his mother's image.

She couldn't help but feel a surge of joy, and took a deep breath before excitedly pressing the answer button: "Mom!"
