Chapter 381 The Secluded Young Master 15 "Xiao Xi, your mother is feeling very dizzy today..."
Zi Xi was awakened by her cell phone ringing.
She fumbled to answer the phone, and the caregiver's voice came from the other end.
"Okay, I'll be right there."
Zi Xi immediately woke up and got out of bed.
My mother's condition has been unstable recently; the doctor warned last month that there might be a sudden change in her condition.
After quickly washing up, Zi Xi checked her phone; today was the day she was going to buy a cake.
I also made plans to see a movie with Gu Yanqing in the afternoon.
"Uncle Chen, this is Xiao Qin. My mother's caregiver said she's not feeling well, so I'd like to ask for a day off. I'm very sorry I can't pick up the cake today."
Zi Xi hesitated for a moment, but still dialed Uncle Chen's number.
"Yes, Miss Qin, I will pass on the message to the young master."
"If you need any help, Ms. Qin, please feel free to call me anytime."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, followed by Chen Bowen's comforting words.
After hanging up the phone, Zixi rushed to her mother's hospital. After handing over the duties to the caregiver, she accompanied her mother through various examinations.
Fortunately, her mother's blood pressure spiked due to pre-operative anxiety and she needs to be observed for two more days before the surgery can proceed.
Zi Xi stood by her mother's bedside, watching her force a smile.
If it weren't for the need to support her schooling, her mother wouldn't have been working three jobs at the same time, which led to her health failing and being hospitalized with cancer.
Fortunately, it was in the early stages, so surgery was possible.
As evening approached, her mother's condition gradually stabilized thanks to Zixi's comforting words.
Zi Xi finally had time to check her phone and found three missed calls, all from the Gu family's number.
She called back, but no one answered. She could only send a text message to Uncle Chen, telling him that she couldn't go back tonight and that Gu Yanqing didn't need to wait for her to have dinner together.
Meanwhile, in the studio at the Gu residence, Gu Yanqing stood by the window, his gaze fixed on the winding road below the mountain.
"Young Master, Xiao Qin said she will stay at the hospital to watch over her mother for the night. It's time for dinner."
Uncle Chen stood at the door, speaking cautiously.
Gu Yanqing remained motionless, as if she hadn't heard anything.
He clutched a charcoal pencil tightly in his hand, his gaze blank.
"Xiao Qin has an emergency at home today and definitely won't be able to come home for dinner."
She said she would buy the cake and deliver it as usual tomorrow.
Uncle Chen tried to explain.
"Tomorrow."
Gu Yanqing repeated the word, her tone filled with utter dejection.
He suddenly turned around and paced around the easel, wandering around the studio for at least an hour.
"Young Master! Young Master!"
Uncle Chen tried to step forward to stop him.
Gu Yanqing shook off his hand and continued wandering around the studio, knocking over paint stands and easels as she walked by because she was moving too fast.
He was completely different from the quiet boy who usually painted.
"No, no."
"I can't not go home."
He kept repeating the name as he destroyed things.
Ultimately, after Chen Bo's worried persuasion, he locked himself in his room.
He refused to eat and refused to communicate with anyone.
The next morning, Zixi stretched out of the folding bed, prepared breakfast for her mother, and after arranging for the caregiver, immediately went to get the cake.
When she arrived at the Gu residence, she found the atmosphere unusually heavy.
Uncle Chen stood at the door, his face more serious than ever before.
"Oh, Xiao Qin, you've finally arrived!"
“Since yesterday, the young master has locked himself in his studio, refusing to eat or let anyone in.”
His tone instantly relaxed when he saw Zixi carrying the cake over.
How is he now?
Zi Xi's heart jumped.
"Not good."
"The lady stood outside the studio trying to communicate with him."
Uncle Chen shook his head.
