Chapter 42 The Temperamental School Bully 20 (2/2)

Jiang Yanli curled her lips into a smirk, trying to take advantage of the situation.

He didn't sleep all night, which was enough time for him to figure out what kind of relationship he wanted with Zi Xi.

He wanted Zi Xi, perhaps initially out of curiosity and a sense of special connection, but after only a few days, he couldn't bear the thought of Zi Xi ignoring him and not caring about him.

He refused his parents' suggestion to have Zixi undergo blood tests and refused to allow anyone to harm Zixi.

He can't either.

Zi Xi hugged Xueqiu tightly, and tears streamed down her face once again.

Where's the crazy school bully Jiang Yanli we were promised? She's just a proud and aloof puppy now.

"Thank you, thank you so much."

These two words were so light they were almost inaudible, yet they carried immense weight.

Jiang Yanli squatted down to look her in the eye and reached out to wipe away the fresh tear stains on her face: "No one can separate you two from now on."

No one will bother his Xixi anymore.

His voice was soft, and he didn't voice the promise in his heart, but it was like an inviolable vow that he would definitely keep.

Sunlight streamed through the window, bathing the two people and the cat. After finishing its dried fish, Snowball curled up contentedly in Zixi's arms and took a nap.

Jiang Yanli looked at Zi Xi's red eyes and her relaxed appearance beside him, and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Call it taking advantage of someone's misfortune or using someone else's kindness for personal gain, all he knows is that finding Zixi's little brat means that from this day forward, his relationship with Zixi will be far more than just classmates!

Jiang Yanli revealed a satisfied smile.

Chu Chenzhou sat in the conference room with a gloomy expression, surrounded by a mountain of documents in front of him.

The CFO's voice trembled: "...The banks have suddenly tightened credit lines, and several partners have temporarily withdrawn their investments. Our cash flow is now..."

"Enough!!!"

Chu Chenzhou interrupted him coldly.

He knew better than anyone that the Chu family's reputation had been ruined ever since the charity gala scandal broke.

Business partners who had once fawned over them began to distance themselves, banks froze loan quotas overnight, and even some major shareholders on the board of directors secretly sold off their shares.

And the source of all this, besides the Qi family, is definitely someone else plotting against them!!!

Chu Chenzhou tapped his fingertips on the table, his eyes dark and unfathomable as he silently pondered the families with good relations with the Qi family.

Chu Baiyi stood at the corner of the corridor, staring intently at Zi Xi, who was reading a book not far away.

It's been a week. Since the banquet, the Chu family's status in City B has plummeted. The eldest brother is frantically begging for help everywhere, the mother is in tears every day, and the father has been nowhere to be seen, probably out looking for someone to handle the problems of the Chu family company.

And what about Bai Zixi?

She continued attending classes and reading books calmly, as if the collapse of the Chu family had nothing to do with her.

Chu Baiyi clenched her fists, about to go forward and argue with Bai Zixi, when she was stopped.

"Student Chu... please stay away from us."

A tall, imposing man suddenly blocked her path, his smile polite yet leaving no room for refusal.

Chu Baiyi's face turned pale.

She recognized him; he was the captain of the school basketball team and Jiang Yanli's lackey!

Just as she was lost in thought, two more student council members happened to pass by, standing on either side of Zi Xi, looking at her warily.

Jiang Yanli protected Zi Xi so well that she had no chance to take advantage of her.

A bunch of lackeys!!!

Chu Baiyi could only grit her teeth in anger and sit back in her seat.

The adoptive parents gave the ring to Bai Zixi, but she still has some photos and videos. It seems I need to find an opportunity to talk to Bai Zixi privately.
