Chapter 425 The Foodie Male Lead 13 (2/2)

But before he could take a few steps back, Mo Chen grabbed him by the back of his collar.

"My teammate, trying to run away?"

"Don't run away, 500,000 star coins."

Mo Chen chuckled and pinched Zi Xi's increasingly plump cheeks.

"This 500,000 is only considered payment for your meals a few days ago. After you leave, you still need to give me one million star coins!"

Seeing that he was quite generous, Zi Xi put forward her conditions.

Otherwise, given his current level of danger, she would be a fool to continue traveling with this time bomb.

"Okay, okay, I want to eat that little red fruit from last time, the one with the little black spots..."

"I've told you so many times, that's called a strawberry."

"Okay, strawberry, strawberry..."

The next day, after breakfast, they entered an area known as the fluorescent forest.

The trees here are exceptionally tall, and countless mosses and fungi that emit a ghostly blue and green glow grow on their bark and branches.

Even during the day, the forest is dimly lit, creating a mesmerizing and eerie atmosphere.

Tiny, glowing spores floated in the air, like countless tiny, dancing sprites.

It's like seeing tiny people after eating mushrooms.

"Stay close to me, the spores here may have hallucinogenic effects, don't inhale too much."

Mo Chen whispered a reminder, handing Zi Xi a damp cloth to cover her mouth and nose.

His mental strength and physical condition are not affected by this.

Zi Xi nodded nervously and followed him closely.

She had a premonition that after consuming the things in the space, she would be fearless of hallucinogenic substances.

The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the rustling sound of footsteps on the thick layer of humus.

The pale blue light reflected on Mo Chen's composed profile, giving her a strange sense of peace.

Suddenly, Mo Chen stopped in his tracks, abruptly pulled Zi Xi behind him, and stared sharply at a particularly dense thicket of bushes in front of him, which emitted a ghastly green fluorescent light.

"What's wrong?"

Zi Xi, hiding behind, asked in a low voice, her heart pounding in her throat.

Mo Chen did not answer, but his body tensed slightly, ready to strike.

He sensed an extremely subtle and hostile aura locking onto them.

"Hiss."

A faint, teeth-grinding sound came from behind the bushes.

Then a pair of vertical pupils, as green as will-o'-the-wisps, lit up in the darkness.

The next second, a huge black shadow suddenly darted out from the bushes.

It was a giant wolf, the size of a small land vehicle.

However, it was completely different from ordinary star beasts, its entire body covered with dark, metallic scales, with faint, pale green fluorescent veins flowing between the gaps in the scales.

A single, twisted horn, resembling a bone spur, grows from the ferocious wolf's head. Its gaping maw drips highly corrosive saliva, sizzling and burning the humus layer on the ground.

"How could there be mutated Gale Wolves here? And they're even individuals that have been mutated by the radiation pollution of this forest."

"They really went to great lengths to kill me."

Mo Chen instantly assessed the target's level of danger, his expression turning serious.

This mutant is extremely fast and has amazing defense.

The scales can resist most energy weapons, and the single horn can release shockwaves that disrupt mental energy.

The mutated Gale Wolf let out a low growl, its hind legs slamming into the ground, transforming into a ghastly green afterimage as it hurtled towards Mo Chen with a stench.

Its speed far exceeds the reaction limits of ordinary people.

Mo Chen's eyes narrowed. Although he had recovered from his serious injuries, he was not fully healed, and he dared not take this kind of surprise attack head-on.

He shifted his feet, trying to sidestep the attack, while at the same time the seemingly decorative dagger in his hand was drawn and slashed towards the giant wolf's relatively vulnerable belly.

However, he underestimated the cunning of this mutant.

Just as Mo Chen turned to the side, a ghastly green light emanated from the single horn of the Gale Wolf.

A sharp mental shockwave, like an awl, pierced Mo Chen's mind.
