Chapter 9 The Love-Deprived CEO (2/2)

His breath hitched, and his heart pounded wildly.

"And I'm not going to run away."

She smiled brightly, "But..."

"But what???"

"You have to promise me that you won't hold grudges alone anymore, you won't bottle up your emotions, you won't... um!"

Before Zi Xi could finish speaking, Fu Senran grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her fiercely.

The aroma of the sweet soup lingered on her lips and teeth, Zi Xi's breathing became disordered, and her fingers unconsciously tightened around his shirt.

When Fu Senran finally released her, Zi Xi's face was already flushed, but she still tried to remain calm and glared at him: "You! Let me add another rule: you can't kiss me without my permission! You just broke the rules!"

Fu Senran chuckled softly, his thumb stroking her reddened lips. The darkness in his eyes faded slightly, replaced by an almost devout tenderness.

"Okay, my darling."

He murmured softly.

"I promise you, I promise you everything."

The next day, I took half a day off and left the company early in the morning to get my marriage certificate.

Fu Senran's hands trembled slightly as he drove. He really couldn't believe that Zi Xi had agreed to marry him.

He thought about it all night but still couldn't figure out what Zi Xi liked about him... no, it should be said that she liked him.

The sunlight outside the Civil Affairs Bureau was so bright that it was hard to open one's eyes.

Zi Xi stood on the steps, holding the newly issued marriage certificate in her hand. The red cover with gold lettering gleamed in the sunlight. She blinked and then flipped open the inner pages to look at them again.

Fu Senran, Shen Zixi.

The two names were written side by side, with a steel stamp underneath, like some kind of sacred seal.

"Have you seen enough? If you have, give it to me."

The man beside her suddenly spoke, his voice deep.

Zi Xi looked up and met Fu Senran's deep gaze.

He was unusually not wearing a suit today, but a simple white shirt and black trousers, which made his broad shoulders and long legs stand out, attracting frequent glances from passersby as he stood at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

"I haven't seen enough yet, what's the rush!"

"Fu Senran, you're a married man now. From now on, you must uphold male virtues, understand?"

"You must listen to your wife!"

She deliberately waved her marriage certificate and patted her newlywed Mrs. Fu's proud chest.

"Mrs. Fu, you don't seem nervous at all?"

Fu Senran narrowed his eyes, then suddenly reached out and grabbed her waist, pulling her into his arms.

"Of course! Why would I be nervous about marrying such a handsome husband? I'm so proud of myself, I'm practically wagging my tail!"

His breath brushed past her ear, and Zi Xi's ear tips instantly turned red.

Fu Senran chuckled softly, then suddenly lowered his head and lightly pecked her lips.

"I'll be smug about it when I get home."

His lips were cool, but his kiss was warm, and Zi Xi's heartbeat instantly went off track.

It was her first time getting married, so she was a little nervous, but mostly she was overjoyed.

They really got married.

This realization made her fingertips go numb, and even the red booklet in her hand became quite hot.

Fu Senran took her hand, their fingers intertwined, their palms pressed tightly together.

His fingertips gently caressed her ring finger as he whispered, "Startling?"

It seems I need to urge them to speed things up regarding the custom ring.

"No way!"

"I just feel like it's a bit magical."

Zi Xi was stubborn, but she couldn't help but flip through the marriage certificate again for a second look.

Just a moment ago she was a happy single girl, and now she's Mrs. Fu.

Fu Senran looked at her slightly flushed profile and suddenly stopped in his tracks: "Zixi, Xixi."
