Chapter 449 The Ruthless Male Lead 8 (1/2)

Chapter 449 The Ruthless Male Protagonist 8 The next three days were the bloodiest seventy-two hours in the memories of certain forces in the border region.

The precise elimination of several mysterious armed forces and the unexpected deaths of key figures one after another.

Car accidents, drownings, or even gangland shootouts.

The funding chain was abruptly cut off by a mysterious force, and all the protective umbrellas collapsed in an instant.

When the news reached that cold villa, Shen Li simply listened quietly, his face showing no joy at the triumph of revenge, only emptiness.

It was as if the collapse of power and the passing of lives had nothing to do with him.

"All of them? Are you sure nothing is missing?"

He simply asked a question casually at the end of the report.

After receiving an affirmative answer, he hung up the phone.

The revenge was accomplished just like that.

A few days later, Shen Li drove alone to the quietest and most expensive cemetery on the outskirts of the city.

He was dressed in a somber black suit, his posture upright, and his handsome face still drew attention.

However, the deathly aura emanating from him deterred the staff members who tried to approach him.

He bought the best-located cemetery plot, overlooking the entire valley.

Not one piece, but two pieces that are closely connected.

He personally supervised the workers as they erected two of the finest black marble tombstones.

On the left side of the tombstone is inscribed: Tomb of my beloved wife Xixi, erected by her husband Chen Li.

The handwriting is deep and carries a sense of despair.

The tombstone on the right is clearly inscribed with "Tomb of Shen Li, erected for his deceased wife Xi Xi".

The two tombstones stand side by side, signifying that they shared the same bed in life and the same grave in death.

Shen Li reached out and very slowly stroked the two characters "Zi Xi," the cold touch causing a slight tremor in his heart.

Then his fingers moved to the side and stroked his own name, and a very faint, almost serene smile appeared on his lips.

That evening, he returned to the villa and, facing Old Master Qin, who sat solemnly behind the mahogany desk in the huge study, calmly said, "Dark Abyss is gone."

“I know, that was originally meant for you. You can do whatever you want with it. You’ve done a clean job.”

"Can I relax now?"

Old Master Qin looked at him, paused, and his voice became slightly hoarse.

"Safe?"

Shen Li seemed to have heard something funny, but there was no smile on his face.

"Grandpa, the grave for me has been purchased."

He raised his eyes and looked directly at his grandfather, as if stating a very simple fact.

"What...what did you say?!"

Old Master Qin suddenly stood up from his chair, and a crack finally appeared on his usually composed face—an expression of unspeakable panic.

"Right next to her."

"The scenery is beautiful and it's very quiet."

“I know she’ll be scared if she’s alone.”

His tone remained calm, as if he were simply saying that the weather was nice today.

He finally revealed the purpose of his return: not to report, but to announce.

He declared that his revenge was complete, so he had no more attachment to this world and was about to die.

The study fell into a deathly silence.

Grandpa Qin's chest heaved violently. Looking into his grandson's eyes, which showed no will to live, he felt utterly powerless.

He could use his power to wipe out a sinful concentration camp and clear all obstacles in his business, but he seemed unable to pull a heartbroken person back from the brink of despair.

“Ah Li…you’re still young.”

"The Shen family..."

Old Master Qin's voice carried a hint of weariness and pleading.
