Ye Chenxing and Qi Jinzhao have arrived.
They rode over on horseback, their hooves kicking up clouds of dust.
As Ye Chenxing rode his horse, he drew his bow and arrow, shooting down the remaining bandits.
Xie Yin was somewhat surprised that they had appeared so quickly.
Because so many people left the palace, they did not return at the same time, but in batches.
Originally, Qi Jinzhao and Ye Chenxing were among the last to set off.
As Ye Chenxing passed by Xi Xingxue, he hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on him for a while. Finding no wounds, he rode his horse to Xie Yin's side.
"Xie Yin, are you alright?"
Xie Yin shook his head: "I'm fine, but the master is in trouble. Please save him quickly."
Qi Jinzhao had already picked Xi Xingxue up in his arms.
Xi Xingxue wasn't much shorter than him, but her waist was exceptionally slender. He easily put his arm around her and helped her onto the horse.
"Your Highness..."
Xie Yin was somewhat uneasy.
Ye Chenxing looked at Xie Yin's expression and felt a little puzzled. Didn't Xie Yin dislike Xi Xingxue? Why did he seem to care about him so much?
Qi Jinzhao heard the call, looked at the unconscious Xi Xingxue in his arms, turned to Xie Yin, and suddenly said.
"The bandits are imminent. If the Imperial Preceptor dies, it could be because of the bandits. So, Xie Yin, do you want to kill him?"
After saying that, Qi Jinzhao gave a faint smile.
The sunlight shone on his handsome face, gilding it with a golden glow.
Seemingly perfect, yet resembling a demon.
Ye Chenxing was also puzzled. The Crown Prince was still holding her, so how could he say such a thing?
He frowned and said, "Your Highness, you mustn't do this."
If you're going to kill someone, can't you at least have a fair and square fight face to face?
Xie Yin took a deep breath: "Your Highness, you...you're joking."
He instinctively gripped the dagger in his hand, but was unable to make any further movements. After forcefully uttering those words, everything went black before his eyes, and he uncontrollably fainted.
After he fainted, Ye Chenxing was responsible for pulling him out of the water.
Qi Jinzhao stopped smiling and looked down at Xi Xingxue in his arms.
Her fingers lightly traced his face, her eyes as dark as an abyss, unfathomable.
Words that sent chills down one's spine escaped his lips.
"Master... have you gotten yourself into so many romantic entanglements again?"
"Are these the people you're tasked with?"
......
The assassination attempt on the Imperial Preceptor also caused a great uproar among the Emperor.
Right under the emperor's nose, someone dared to be so arrogant, first assassinating three princes, and then trying to kill the imperial advisor.
For the emperor, the death of a few princes was no big deal, but the imperial advisor could not be harmed.
Otherwise, how would he have obtained the elixir of immortality?
On the Second Prince Qi Yi's side, the test results for the character on the dagger came out, and the time was clearly the period when Qi Yi had obtained these weapons.
The emperor was furious and immediately fined him, confining him for three years. Qi Yi had no choice but to suffer in silence.
Of course, he protested to the emperor that he was innocent, saying that even if he had committed the crime, he couldn't have left the murder weapon there. The emperor listened to his words.
However, the three officials had made a huge fuss, and the matter could not be left unresolved. The emperor was troubled and did not want to deal with the matter anymore, so he hastily closed the case.
This also shows that the emperor was not a wise ruler, no wonder the struggle for the throne was so fierce, with all eight princes wanting to take the throne.
When Xi Xingxue woke up, he found the light dim and could not see his surroundings clearly. He called out to someone in a low voice.
"Little Willow, where are you?"
Soon, two people rushed in from outside; they were two palace maids.
"My lord, you're awake?! Quickly, inform the Crown Prince."
Xi Xingxue asked in confusion, "Crown Prince? Where am I?"
His throat wasn't dry or hoarse; someone must have fed him water while he was unconscious. It's very thoughtful of him to have water every time he's unconscious.
Wait, so he's in the Eastern Palace now?
Xi Xingxue was shocked and struggled to get up.
One of the palace maids went to report to the Crown Prince, and the remaining palace maid quickly helped Xi Xingxue up.
"Your Excellency, are you still feeling unwell?"
The palace maid asked cautiously.
"No, I can go back now."
As she spoke, Xi Xingxue picked up her shoes.
However, before he could even put his shoes on, the palace maid beside him suddenly fell silent and retreated to the side.
"Light the candles."
A deep male voice sounded, and a tall figure stopped in front of Xi Xingxue.
Xi Xingxue looked up.
In an instant, the candles in the hall were lit, and the man's handsome face appeared before Xi Xingxue's eyes.
He still had those eyes with upturned corners, slightly sinister and cold, and below his high nose bridge were thin lips with a slight curve at the corners.
He bent down slightly, looking directly at Xi Xingxue.
"where are you going?"
Inside the vast and magnificent hall, the palace maids and eunuchs dared not speak, and the atmosphere was tense. Only his question lingered in Xi Xingxue's ears.
Xi Xingxue blinked, wondering if it was just his imagination, but he felt that the Crown Prince in front of him was a little different from before.
He quickly slipped the shoes on completely before replying.
"Your Highness, thank you for saving me. This is the Eastern Palace, right? I shouldn't bother you any longer, so I'll head back now."
As she was speaking, Xi Xingxue was about to stand up, but in the next second, a hand pressed down on her shoulder.
"What's the rush? Why don't you have dinner before you leave?"
A strange feeling welled up in Xi Xingxue's heart, and she frowned slightly.
