Chi Ye just looked at Chen Yao without saying anything.
How should I describe that look? It was as if someone had suddenly ignored me.
Chen Yao was the first to give in, "Okay, I'll sit in the front."
Chi Ye nodded, released the back door he had been holding open, and walked around to the driver's seat.
Before setting off, Chen Yao took a look at the messages in the group. Everyone was still discussing the specific time of observation, and some people were discussing the observation equipment.
She glanced at the current time, which was a little after seven in the evening. After roughly calculating the reserved time, she asked Chi Ye, "How long will it take to get there?"
Chi Ye replied: "It was pretty fast, less than half an hour."
Chen Yao: "Okay, then drive slowly, don't rush, we still have plenty of time."
Chi Ye: "Well, don't worry, the road here can't be fast."
After Chen Yao responded, she leaned back in her chair and gradually calmed down.
After a while, she turned her head and looked out through the car window, only to find that the road Chi Ye took did not seem to be the same one she came from.
But there is only one main road leading into this place, so Chi Ye is actually driving inside now?
The place they were going to was actually further inside?
If Chi Ye wasn't the male protagonist of the small world, Chen Yao would have been extremely alert by now.
"If you are sleepy, you can take a nap now, because the road you will take later will be bumpy, and you won't be able to sleep even if you want to." Chi Ye saw that she was still quiet and looked sleepy, so he reminded her.
Chen Yao suddenly turned her head back and looked at Chi Ye: "Besides me, have you taken anyone else there?"
Chi Ye looked ahead and replied, "No."
Chen Yao responded nonchalantly, and then heard Chi Ye say, "I discovered that place by chance a while ago. It's very quiet and there are almost no people to disturb me. I usually go there to relax when I can't calm down."
As Chi Ye spoke, the car slowed down a bit. Chen Yao rolled down the window, looked at the crops neatly planted in the fields beside the road, and asked, "Are there any residents living nearby?"
Chi Ye: "There are a few families, but they are mostly elderly people. I haven't seen any young people."
Chen Yao seemed to be thinking about something, and suddenly called him: "Chi Ye."
"What's wrong?" Chi Ye asked.
"Do you think I'm too unguarded?" Chen Yao said.
Chi Ye said without hesitation: "Yes."
"However, you are also the one who is least defensive towards me among all the people I know. So, I actually want to ask, Chen Yao, are you like this towards others as well?"
Chen Yao smiled and said, "Didn't you ask me this question last time? I don't remember how I answered you?"
Chi Ye: "Of course I remember, you gave me a good guy card at that time."
Chen Yao: "Hey, that's not how you use the term 'nice guy card'."
Chi Ye: "Then teach me how to use it?"
Chen Yao: "You really don't know? People usually say that when their confession is rejected."
Chi Ye: "I don't know, I've never chased anyone, I don't have any experience."
Chen Yao: "Okay."
Chi Ye's eyes flickered slightly: "What about you? Have you ever given someone a nice guy card?"
Chen Yao was stunned. "Why are you asking this?"
Chi Ye pursed his lips: "Just asking."
Chen Yao thought about it and said, "Probably not."
Chi Ye hummed absentmindedly.
......
It took about twenty minutes to finally reach the destination.
Only then did Chen Yao realize that this place was not the desolate wilderness she had imagined.
Although it is indeed a bit remote, there are security guards standing guard at the entrance, and it doesn't look like anyone can enter.
Seeing Chi Ye's car approaching, the security guard reacted quickly, opened the gate, and greeted him warmly.
Chen Yao seemed to be lost in thought.
After Chi Ye parked the car, he explained to her, "This area has been reserved by me and a friend since last year. It's still under development and no construction has started yet. We won't let anyone in casually."
Chen Yao understood.
Chi Ye opened the trunk of the car and took out the things they brought one by one. He carried them all himself and didn't let Chen Yao take any.
After the inventory was completed, Chen Yao helped him close the trunk and then walked inside with him.
The terrain of this area is much higher than the plain, so you can overlook the distant scenery at a glance.
It was also at this time that Chen Yao finally understood what Chi Ye meant by having a broader vision.
The view here is indeed wider than that by the lake at the B&B, and it is quieter overall.
Chi Ye took her to a wide and panoramic hillside, and only after they chose a good spot did they put down all the things they were carrying.
After a moment, he took the picnic mat he had brought from his bag and spread it on the lawn. While sorting out the details, he said to Shen Yao, "The development plan and design have not been finalized yet, so there is nothing here except for the lighting. To put it bluntly, it's still a wild hillside, a bit primitive."
Chen Yao didn't mind this. To be honest, she quite liked this kind of environment close to the original ecology. "It doesn't matter. It's pretty good here."
After Chi Ye laid out the mat, he asked Chen Yao to sit down first, and then he went to fiddle with the observation equipment he brought.
Chen Yao was not idle either. She took out the snacks that Grandma Chi and Aunt Fang had prepared for them and placed them neatly aside.
