Chapter 18 Dealing with Ye Ruliang

"Yeah! Didn't you ask me to come?"

Zhou Yiyi sat lazily on the couch.

I really don’t know what to say to a little boy like Ye Ruliang.

Ye Ruliang stared at the increasingly beautiful Zhou Yiyi with his eyes wide open. He couldn't recall any of the words that had come to his mind before.

His eyes just stared at Zhou Yi without blinking.

Zhou Yiyi became a little impatient with his gaze and was about to get up and leave when the door was kicked open.

"If you don't want those eyes of yours anymore, just keep staring at her."

Ye Ruliang only felt a chilly wind blowing. He didn't even need to look. Just by listening to the sound, he knew who was coming.

The body that was sitting upright just now suddenly collapsed on the chair.

After a while, he stood up and called out tremblingly, "Uncle, uncle, you are here."

Ye Xichen walked over to Zhou Yiyi and pulled her up from the chair.

"What? Are you going to stick your eyes on my princess if I don't come?"

"No, no, no, no, no."

Ye Ruliang hurriedly waved his hands to deny it.

Big drops of cold sweat dripped down his face.

Zhou Yiyi took a step aside in disgust, "Look at you, you're such a coward."

Then he glanced at Ye Xichen again and said, "Solve it yourself and don't cause me any more trouble."

Ye Xichen was amused by Zhou Yiyi's arrogant little expression.

He put his arm around Zhou Yiyi's shoulders and rubbed his face affectionately with his nose.

Zhou Yiyi pushed him away in disgust, but Ye Ruliang on the opposite side was dumbfounded, his eyes almost popping out of focus.

Ye Xichen tapped Zhou Yiyi's nose.

"What do you mean by my business? I'll handle it myself. This is not the trouble you caused."

As he said this, he nodded at Ye Ruliang with his chin.

Ye Ruliang was so frightened that he quickly lowered his head and remained silent.

Zhou Yiyi was relentless, "What do you mean it was my fault? I was crowned the queen, but you snatched me away for no reason.

Now that the owner is here to ask for the person, shouldn't it be you who handles it, but me?"

Ye Xichen listened to Zhou Yiyi's words and thought they made sense. He nodded and said, "That's true. Since I caused this, I will solve it."

He let go of Zhou Yiyi's shoulders.

He walked up to Ye Ruliang with a forced smile, and only three steps away from him, frightened Ye Ruliang so much that he took several steps back and fell back into the chair.

Ye Chenxi continued to walk towards Ye Ruliang slowly.

Ye Ruliang had a sad face and was almost unable to control himself. He wanted to kneel down and beg for mercy.

Indeed, he couldn't control himself in the end and slipped off the chair and knelt on the ground.

"Uncle, I was wrong. I will never do it again. Please spare me. Uncle, I was wrong. Please spare me."

Amidst the wailing sounds, where is the emperor's majesty?

Ye Xichen ignored him and slapped his palm lightly on the table. The seemingly soft palm shattered the solid wooden table into pieces.

The flying wood chips scratched Ye Ruliang's face. Ye Ruliang was so scared that he didn't even dare to move, letting the blood drip down his face.

Ye Xichen snorted coldly, ignored Ye Ruliang, turned around and took Zhou Yiyi's hand and left Ningxiangfang.

When they arrived at the door, the waiter was still holding his horse. He ignored Zhou Yiyi's struggle, picked him up by the waist, jumped on the horse, and galloped away from the capital.

When Zhou Yiyi's maid went back to report, Zhou Bingkun led his men to chase after him, but Ye Xichen was nowhere to be found.

Zhou Yiyi struggled a bit at first, but then realized Ye Xichen rode steadily and quickly. He'd been cooped up at home for a while, so he thought it would be nice to get out for a bit. He simply leaned into Ye Xichen's arms and followed him out of town.

By the time they caught up with the leading team, it was already time for lunch.

Ye Xichen ordered his men to set up camp at the edge of the woods.

He took Zhou Yiyi to the woods to look for wild fruits to eat.

What's more, they actually found a wild apricot tree with many red apricots.

Zhou Yiyi hurriedly grabbed Ye Xichen's arm and said, "Go pick some red apricots for me to eat."

Ye Xichen looked at the apricots, and his teeth felt sour. "These wild apricots are probably not fully ripe yet. I'll buy you some delicious ones when we get to the city."

"No, I just want to eat wild apricots."

Seeing that he couldn't persuade Zhou Yiyi, Ye Xichen reluctantly went under the tree and picked a few wild apricots that looked ripe and a little soft to the touch.

Afraid that Zhou Yiyi would find it dirty, he took it to a nearby stream and helped her clean it.

Zhou Yi followed Ye Xichen eagerly.

After washing each one, Ye Xichen would break it open and remove the core before handing it to Zhou Yiyi. Zhou Yiyi ate three or four in a row and found them extremely delicious.

She urged him to pick a few more, but Ye Xichen refused.

"Peaches are too filling, and apricots are bad for your health, especially these wild apricots. It's better to eat less. I'll buy you other delicious food when we get to the city."

"Hmph, stingy."

Zhou Yiyi rolled up his sleeves and prepared to pick wild apricots by himself.

Ye Xichen shook his head helplessly and followed her closely, neither stopping her nor helping her.

Zhou Yiyi became even angrier when he heard his footsteps. He turned around, pouted, and put his hands on his hips, commanding, "Don't follow me! You annoying guy."

"The road is wide open, so let's go our separate ways. This isn't your home, so I'll take whatever path I want."

Zhou Yi was extremely disgusted by his rogue expression.

He hit him on the arm, turned around and continued walking.

Just after taking two steps, Ye Xichen exclaimed behind him

"Snake! There's a snake!"
