Chapter 13 A Sentimental Woman

At this moment, the procession had reached the city gate. To show his appreciation for Yun Qing, Li Weiyi, along with the princes, personally greeted her there.

And so, under everyone's watchful eyes, Qi Xiao rolled on the ground and slowly came to a stop at Li Huaiyin's feet.

At that moment, the originally joyous atmosphere vanished, leaving only an inexplicable awkwardness in the air.

Yun Qing noticed the commotion, her face stiffened for a moment, and she screamed inwardly: Heaven is going to destroy me!

At this moment, all she could do was pray that Qi Xiao would not show his face.

However, God did not hear her prayers.

In the stillness, Li Huaiyin bent down and lifted the sleeve that Qi Xiao was using to cover his face.

When he saw the face on the ground, his pupils contracted sharply, and he subconsciously let go of her hand.

Now, Qi Xiao could see the person in front of him clearly. It was a face that looked about five parts like his own, but compared to him, the person had a more noble air about him.

Who is he? Why does he look so much like me?

Recalling the scene of his first meeting with Yun Qing, his mind was in a mess. It was as if something important had flashed by, but he couldn't grasp it, or rather, he didn't want to think in that direction.

The moment the two locked eyes, not only they, but everyone around them gasped in shock.

At the same time, a storm was brewing in their hearts: why did the man who rolled off the princess's carriage look so much like the eldest prince?

Various doubts lingered in everyone's minds, and for a time, the joy of Yun Qing's return was somewhat diminished.

Seeing that even her aunt was looking at her with curiosity, Yun Qing quickly went over and helped Qi Xiao up from the ground.

"Excuse me, everyone. My wife has been in the carriage for too long and wanted to get some fresh air, but she accidentally fell off. I'm taking her back to get her injured. Let's all go our separate ways for today and meet again another day."

On the way back to the manor, Qi Xiao was pressed tightly into the carriage by Ke An. His face was painfully pressed against the carriage wall, and his eyes were as red as a rabbit's as he glared at Yun Qing with resentment.

Yun Qing kept her eyes closed and completely ignored him.

Ke'an, however, couldn't stand seeing her dignity challenged and slapped Qi Xiao hard on the back: "How dare you! Who told you to look at your wife like that?"

"So what if I'm presumptuous? Does the noble Princess of the Great Sheng Dynasty intend to punish me for such a grave offense of disrespect?"

Qi Xiao was not threatened by Ke An at all; on the contrary, he became even more arrogant, and his words had a "what's the use of trying" attitude.

The happy life he longed for was shattered on his very first day in Shengjing. Now that things have come to this, what is there left for him to fear?

"I won't punish you." Yun Qing interrupted his rambling thoughts, opened her eyes, and gazed at him with the same eyes that Qi Xiao loved so much.

"In the end, I spoiled you too much. From today onwards, you will learn the rules from Ke'an. What happened today must not happen again."

"Ha!" Qi Xiao laughed until tears streamed down her face. "Is this your answer? Don't you have anything to say about that man, about this face?"

"Since you already know, why ask again?" The secret that had been hidden in her heart was revealed, but Yun Qing did not panic as expected. Instead, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Despite Qi Xiao's resentment and unwillingness, she was not greatly disturbed. After all, she had already done a great deed by bringing him out of Qihong Pavilion and not letting him continue to serve Qi Kingdom.
