Chapter 144 The Reborn Young Hero's Dragon (Part 12)

The three looked over and saw Yue Wuyi and Wenren Yu walking over from the side.

Shao Gong said gently, "To be honest, Yi Ze also had doubts about this matter, which is why I came to Bo Mai Hang to verify what I thought."

Shao Gong's gentleness and his reputation as a divine physician were quite effective. Yue Wuyi's anger subsided, and he stammered, "Shao Gong...aren't you worried that he's lying to you?"

“No doubt about it. If Young Master Xia were truly the one auctioning off the fish woman, why would he have come here today?” Wenren Yu advised.

“Hehe… Miss Wenren is absolutely right. Besides, I have known Yize for a long time, so I naturally trust him.” Shao Gong paused and looked at Long Xun: “My godfather thinks so too, doesn’t he?”

Xia Yize couldn't help but turn his head to look at Long Xun, a hint of anticipation rising in his heart.

Perhaps... Senior Long took care of him like an elder, so he was somewhat concerned about how Senior Long viewed him.

“Yes.” Long Xun responded without hesitation.

Just then, the fish woman on the stage was taken off the stage, and the new one on stage was a panicked female merman from the South China Sea. Bai Shanshan ignored her shouts and continued to introduce her.

Mermaids are rare, and the customers in the trading shop immediately became interested. Those who had already bought treasures couldn't help but regret not saving their money to buy her. Some even said that the mermaid might be fake, and suggested making her cry to see if her tears would turn into mermaid pearls.

The merman trembled with rage and shouted, "You...you will get your comeuppance—!"

Xia Yize suddenly turned to look at the stage, his expression changing slightly: "Mermaids?"

While Wenren Yu and Shao Gong were still trying to persuade Yue Wuyi, Long Xun noticed his unusual behavior and turned to look at him.

Just as Catgrass White, in an attempt to prove the merman was real, ordered someone to fetch a dagger to peel off the merman's scales, Xia Yize finally couldn't hold back and shouted, "Stop!"

Seeing Xia Yize rush onto the auction stage and force Bai Shanshan back with his sword, accidentally breaking the Soul-Severing Grass shield, Long Xun immediately got up and rushed onto the stage.

Purple mist emanated from the Soul-Severing Grass, and Xia Yize suddenly felt dizzy. Then, a violent aura rose from the bottom of his heart. He looked at the demons who had just been bidding and shouting to peel the scales off the mermaids, and he wished he could kill them all.

He thought this and did this. Before everyone could recover from their daze, a barrage of sword light shot towards the guests in their seats like rain. The guests were in an uproar and ran away in panic.

Immersed in inexplicable killing intent, Xia Yize suddenly felt a cool breeze coming from behind him, soothing the turmoil surging in his heart. A hand covered in black armor gently grasped the back of his hand, pressing down the hand that was pointing the sword at the seats. The sword energy under his control then crashed onto the auction stage, but no one was injured.

Long Xun had already stood behind him without him noticing. His hands, shimmering with silver light, were placed on Xia Yize's sword-wielding hand with one hand and on his back with the other, his spiritual power dispelling the aura of the Soul-Severing Grass that had invaded Xia Yize's body.

Seeing this, Shao Gong said in a deep voice, "Wu Yi, Wen Ren, quickly destroy that plant!"

Startled by this turn of events, the two regained their senses. Yue Wuyi drew his Han Guang sword and rushed forward, cleaving the Soul-Severing Grass, bottle and all, in two. The bottle shattered into pieces, while the grass scattered into tiny, glowing specks and vanished.

The demonic energy of the Soul-Severing Grass, which Long Xun found quite frustrating, was thus destroyed by a mere mortal boy.

Intending to offer assistance, Wu Ming, who was a step too late, paused upon seeing Long Xun's stunned expression. After a moment of contemplation, he dared not disturb the deity, but merely bowed respectfully from afar before disappearing from sight.

As soon as the Soul-Severing Grass disappeared, Xia Yize's senses returned rapidly. He realized he was so close to the person, almost leaning against their chest, and he suddenly turned around. Under the black hood, through the eye openings of the silver mask, a pair of silver pupils were reflected in his eyes.

Those eyes were deep and calm, with a hint of languor in their indifference, like a high god looking down upon the world, undisturbed and inspiring awe. Yet, those eyes also seemed to have been tempered by the passage of time; he seemed to see endless affections washed away by time, stripped of all superficiality, ingrained in his bones, in his soul, in his life, quietly hidden in the deepest recesses of those eyes.

Xia Yize subconsciously held his breath, staring blankly at those eyes. His blood seemed to be boiling and howling, and his soul seemed to be dragging him to rush over regardless of everything, to explore the secrets of those eyes, and to leave his image in those eyes.

My heart was pounding like a drum, and my blood was surging.

A glance is but a fleeting moment, yet it feels like millions of years have passed.

Long Xun gave him a deep look, then lowered his head slightly, the black brim of his hat blocking their view of each other.

Xia Yize noticed that Long Xun was letting go of his hand and taking a step back. He almost couldn't help but follow, but he came to his senses and stood rooted to the spot. After a moment, he gradually calmed down.

'Don't blame Senior Dragon for concealing his appearance all day long... Just one moment of eye contact almost made me lose my composure. If you didn't hide it, Senior Dragon probably wouldn't be able to leave the house...'

I just don't know what Senior Long's true appearance is like... He doesn't seem as old as I imagined?
