Chapter 216 Extra: The Imperial Preceptor's Western Garden (Part 1)

In an unnamed valley, there stood an ordinary little bamboo hut. Inside the hut lived an old man with white hair and a youthful face, and a girl of extraordinary beauty.

The girl had a cold expression, and her pale yellow vertical pupils were filled with coldness. Her figure was curvaceous and graceful. She wore a long palace dress with a gradient of yellow and pink and white, which trailed on the ground. She held a gauze shawl around her arms, and her long yellow hair, which was almost white and golden, was tied into a flying fairy bun. Her forehead was as smooth as porcelain, with a golden mark on it that shone brightly.

The old man had an air of otherworldly wisdom and refined features, with a calm and serene gaze. One glance at him revealed an extraordinary demeanor.

Xi Yuan has been in the world for three years.

Three years ago, when she was born, the old man seemed to have anticipated this. He waited for her for more than a month at the place where she was born, and when she arrived, he immediately brought her to this valley.

The old man claimed to be nameless. Xi Yuan noticed that he seemed to have some understanding of his own identity, so he stayed to see what this mortal intended to do.

But Wuming had no ill intentions. For the past three years, he had been doing his best to teach her everything he knew.

Some of those things were indeed unknown to Xiyuan, and some were indeed magical. Xiyuan gradually became obsessed with them and no longer cared about Wuming's intentions.

Since we can't hurt her either way, why bother?

Today, Wuming suddenly called her over, sat down, and stared at her without saying a word. Xiyuan didn't know what he wanted, so she pursed her lips and returned his gaze with an icy expression.

After a long pause, Wuming suddenly spoke: "My lifespan is coming to an end, and you have learned all my skills and surpassed me by far."

Xi Yuan stood quietly, her skirt trailing on the ground, yet no matter how she walked, it remained spotless. Her demeanor was cold and elegant, her beauty inspiring awe.

The so-called celestial beings are nothing more than this.

Wuming smiled and continued, "After today, you shall leave the valley. I cannot give you any advice... I only hope that, for the sake of this bond, if a great calamity befalls the world in the future, you will lend a helping hand. If possible... if anyone angers you, please show mercy to the innocent."

Xi Yuan slowly narrowed her eyes, and her beautiful face instantly became so dignified that it was impossible to look directly at her, making people want to lower their heads to avoid her gaze.

Wuming persisted in meeting her gaze, his old but still clear eyes looking at her honestly and sincerely.

After a long silence, Xi Yuan nodded slightly and said calmly, "Okay."

Wuming breathed a sigh of relief. The moment Xiyuan agreed to his request, he felt as if a heavy burden had been lifted, and he felt much lighter. However, his energy and spirit also declined in an instant, as if he had become an ordinary, frail old man.

Wuming stood up and placed a small package he had prepared beforehand in front of Xiyuan. He smiled and said, "Inside is a letter and a document proving your identity. After you leave, you can use this to find the current emperor. Meeting him will not be difficult for you... After showing these things, the emperor may try to persuade you to stay. If you are willing to agree, then agree."

“I know you come from an extraordinary background and are probably not afraid of anything. But in this world, having power and influence always reduces a lot of trouble.”

Xi Yuan did not refuse. With a flick of her hand, she put the bundle into her mustard seed space.

—If Yuebai saw this, he would be shocked. The Suppressing Pearl seems to have no effect at all. How could he not be shocked!

This was the first time Wuming had seen Xiyuan display her abilities so openly. Even though he already knew she was extraordinary, a hint of shock still flashed in his eyes, but it quickly dissipated, leaving only relief.

Perhaps he was relieved that he hadn't doubted his divination abilities and had genuinely taken care of Xiyuan.

Wuming gave a series of small instructions until the sun began to set, then he stopped talking and said to the West Garden, "It's getting late, you should go."

Xi Yuan lowered her eyes slightly. For a fleeting moment, a trace of sorrow seemed to cross her cold, stern, and aloof face, as if it were an illusion.

Without saying goodbye, she turned and stepped out of the wooden house. A gentle breeze blew through the valley outside, making her palace dress flutter lightly, as if she were an immortal riding the wind away.

It's not just a thought.

She truly stepped into the void, and white clouds gathered beneath her feet, and she rode away on those clouds.

Nameless stood by the window, staring blankly as the peerless celestial being departed, muttering to himself, "A celestial being descending upon the world—is it a blessing or a curse? It's unpredictable... unpredictable..."

...

His Majesty the present is the second emperor of the Great Cang Dynasty. He is a wise and capable ruler who is praised by the people for his diligence and self-discipline.

Although the emperor has become somewhat suspicious and muddle-headed due to his many years on the throne, he remains the same dignified and awe-inspiring wise emperor when it comes to governing the country.

The nameless old man once told Xiyuan that the emperor and his sons held the emperor in high esteem.

When Xiyuan actually flew to the palace, he couldn't help but frown.

Her eyes gleamed with a faint golden light, her dragon-like gaze sharp as lightning, the thick roof offering no respite from her vision. This allowed Xi Yuan to see at a glance the emperor, in broad daylight, in the imperial study, indulging in debauchery with his concubines. Memorials were scattered across the floor, some stained with indescribable fluids; his supposed diligence and love for the people seemed nothing but a joke.

Xi Yuan's brows furrowed only slightly before relaxing. The emperor's private life was none of her business, and she didn't want to concern herself with it.

With a gentle touch to her sleeve, Xi Yuan lowered her gaze quietly, her lips parted slightly, and a voice as cold as the snow of the Tianshan Mountains came from the horizon, but only reached the ears of the emperor in the palace: "An old friend has come, why not meet him?"

Emperor Cangwen shuddered, so frightened that he disengaged. The concubine, panting and drenched in sweat, was still in shock when Emperor Cangwen, his face dark, straightened his clothes and slowly said, "Who's playing tricks?"
