Chapter 26 The Dragon of the Transmigrated Trio (Part 12)

After a natural disaster, people often only need a leader to help them stand up, strive forward, and gradually restore their lives to normal. But they need hope. If someone ignores the hopes of the disaster victims... the backlash from humanity when suppressed to the extreme can be terrifying.

As the Imperial Advisor and the supervisor of disaster relief, when Long Xun arrived in the North, all the officials of Beijun came out to greet him. They respectfully invited Long Xun to a banquet, but unexpectedly, after Long Xun landed and transformed into a dragon-human form, he quietly walked around in front of everyone.

Then his dragon tail killed half of the officials on the spot, and the Wan Hua costume was half covered in blood, staining the black clothes into a deeper color.

He only said eight words: "Corruption and embezzlement deserve to be punished with death."

Some officials, feeling a sense of shared vulnerability, were so shocked that their voices changed, and they screamed as they asked him, "What evidence do you have? How can you arbitrarily kill officials of the imperial court?"

"Evidence?" Long Xun's golden vertical pupils fell on these officials. They trembled with fear, and when they realized that he was actually looking at them, several of them who couldn't handle the pressure rolled their eyes and fainted.

Long Xun ignored those who had fainted and said indifferently, "What I say is the proof. My ears can hear the sounds of all things in the world, whenever I want."

He paused, then looked at the terrified and angry officials, and calmly said, "If you wish to appeal to me, go ahead. But until I lose my position as Imperial Preceptor, you all must obey my orders. Those who disobey will die! Those who cheat and shirk their duties will die! Those who oppress the people will die! Those who embezzle money will die!"

Damn it, who said the Imperial Advisor was silent, simple, and gentle?! He's clearly a god of death!!

All the officials who were still conscious were screaming in their hearts. They couldn't help but believe Long Xun's words. The bodies of those officials who had died tragically were still lying on the ground, their bodies twisted at bizarre angles, and some even had half of their bodies mangled and bloody... It was truly disgusting and made them want to vomit.

“What right does the Grand Preceptor have to do this?! His Majesty sent the Grand Preceptor to oversee disaster relief, but he never said that the Grand Preceptor could kill at will.” An official who had been silent for a long time couldn’t help but speak up. He appeared much calmer than the others, with a firm gaze, a refined appearance, and an air of righteousness.

Long Xun swept the ground with the tip of his tail, looking at the person who was speaking somewhat coherently with his hands behind his back. His cold, lazy, and low voice, slightly chilly, revealed a nonchalant attitude: "Because I am strong enough."

For a moment, everyone present fell silent.

They suddenly realized clearly that this national advisor, the guardian beast of the nation, was not human, and that they could not view everything about him with human thinking.

He doesn't consider balance, power, or all aspects like humans do; he has concerns and weaknesses. He is unconcerned and indifferent to everything in the world, because human power has no effect on him.

Officials accept bribes and embezzle public funds for their own enjoyment, believing that as long as they are not discovered, the law cannot punish them.

But gods are all-knowing and all-powerful, and so are dragons. Some of these officials were also tempted by the silver, but hadn't had a chance to get involved yet, so they knew that the dead were not innocent.

Some people had no ulterior motives. Although the supervisor was a bit frightening, they still did their jobs well. Others couldn't stand Long Xun's existence. They didn't believe that this dragon was truly fearless. They thought that a dragon who could become an official must care about his position and the emperor. So they actually wrote a memorial accusing the Grand Preceptor of killing officials.

Then Long Xun obtained an imperial sword and a decree that allowed him to execute first and report later. The officials were horrified to discover that the emperor actually trusted this imperial advisor so much... So everyone became extremely obedient.

Once these officials worked together as one, the disaster relief efforts proceeded incredibly smoothly. Two months later, the problems caused by the floods had largely subsided, and any potential epidemics were nipped in the bud. Unscrupulous merchants who would inflate prices served as a warning to others with their own lives. Although the disaster victims were not getting enough to eat, they did not starve to death.

Fortunately, it is still late summer; otherwise, the floods that would have occurred in winter would likely have killed even more people—most of them frozen to death.

Long Xun gradually stopped staring at it so intently. He planned to return to the capital after finishing the last bit of work.

However, he did not expect that in early September, instead of going to the construction site to supervise the work, he was taking a nap in the guest room of the magistrate's mansion in a county under the jurisdiction of Beijun when he suddenly felt a strange power enveloping him.

When he opened his eyes with alarm, he saw Chen Ziqi, her body covered in sword wounds, blood oozing from her skin, her pupils dilating. A faint glow lingered on her right hand as she lay on the ground, her voice weak and feeble: "Save...save me..."

Long Xun: "..." How come this girl is still having bad luck after not seeing her for several months? But he's not a healer, so he must have called the wrong person, right?

Long Xun stepped forward and immediately pressed Chen Ziqi's acupoints to stop the bleeding. He took out a Yi Jinlan from his personal space (you should remember that he had a useless personal space, right?), crushed it while thinking of the Gu Nu's name, and then took some spiritual spring water from his personal space for Chen Ziqi to drink.

The spiritual spring water can't replenish blood, but it can keep you on the brink of death.

A few seconds later, the Gu woman suddenly appeared beside her. After looking around, she immediately exclaimed, "Ziqi?! Ziqi, what's wrong with you, Ziqi?! Ziqi, don't scare me, Ziqi!! Ziqi, say something, Ziqi!"
