Chapter 37 Reborn as a Dragon in the Zombie World (Part 8)

Night has fallen over the land. The city, which was once bustling and had countless lights shining like a silver river at night, now has only a few scattered lights remaining.

On the wide, enclosed platform atop the iconic tower-like building in downtown J City, Eryuan Sanliang, Kameo, and Po, now only an arm's length apart, lay utterly exhausted on the ground. Beside them, Sheila was once again in a dull, wooden state, while Yin Chen had fallen asleep, crouching against a nearby pillar.

Long Xun, holding a laptop, spoke in a low, slightly cool voice—the only sound besides everyone's breathing: "...The zombie's vital point is its brain. Once its head is cut off, it's completely dead. Cutting off a low-level zombie requires about the same force as chopping a potato; most of its body is already stiff, with only a small amount of blood still flowing. Due to dehydration, its body is extremely brittle..."

"As long as you are not afraid, most people will not be in danger when facing low-level zombies."

After finishing his speech quietly, Long Xun paused, glanced at the time in the upper right corner of the laptop, said goodnight, and then, amidst a flurry of messages of farewell and well wishes, placed the laptop in a corner where everyone could be seen.

Camer lay on the ground panting for a while, then suddenly sat up and waved to Long Xun, who was turning around to find a place to sit down.

This strange guy, during that frantic escape, even the equally powerful Xila Yinchen had collapsed and fallen asleep from exhaustion. Apart from him, who was inexplicably excited after his final frenzy of killing zombies, the only one still awake now is Long Xun.

but……

Camer couldn't help but glance at the silver-haired, vertical-eyed, horned, and tailed white-robed man. This guy had clearly charged into the zombie horde to cover their retreat and used such a terrifying move to instantly kill the pursuing zombies, yet he was still completely clean. He could practically walk straight onto the red carpet to attend a high-class banquet, unlike them, who could squeeze out a bowl of dark red zombie blood with just a twist of their clothes, and whose bodies were sticky and slimy...

Camer didn't want to recall how much brain matter, eyeballs, internal organs, bones, and flesh had just been thrown at him.

This proves that during that desperate escape that they had all been fighting for their lives, the man was actually in complete control the whole time.

What exactly is he?

Long Xun had no idea what Ka Mo was thinking. When he saw Ka Mo call him, he went over, sat down cross-legged, turned his head and quietly looked at him. His golden vertical pupils revealed a seriousness, indicating that he was ready to listen.

"Brother Long, what are we doing here? If we're rescuing people, shouldn't we be heading to residential areas or schools?" Camer asked, trying to keep his voice down so as not to wake the people and animals who had fallen asleep from exhaustion.

These people, even those who were just ordinary people like him, gripped their weapons tightly from the beginning and tried their best to kill zombies, unlike him who only overcame his fear later.

So he was lucky enough to still have some strength left, which allowed him to ask Long Xun about his plans.

Camer knew he wasn't very capable. He didn't have great strength, nor was he particularly clever. The smoothness he had developed through years of working in the corporate world was useless among these strange people.

But... seeing Long Xun warning everyone even while fleeing for his life, seeing even a hamster trying its best to fight zombies, and seeing even an eleven-year-old child protecting people.

Camer had a vague feeling that... he could actually do something for his compatriots, for these comrades who had shared life and death with him.

Maybe it's insignificant, maybe it's unimportant, maybe others don't need him to do anything... but Long Xun is right, do what you should do, what does it matter what others think?

"The magnetic field in city J is disordered, and all communication devices are unusable." Long Xun also answered him softly, "The structure of this tower is made of steel, specifically an alloy of elements xx and yy, model number ***. Let's assume that on the spire... and on the body of the tower..."

"...The frequency of the signal transmission is...The current magnetic field fluctuation in J City is...According to the formula, we can deduce...So assuming the plan succeeds, communication in J City will be restored." Long Xun spoke slowly as he described the method he and Sheila had come up with, not noticing that Cameron was trying hard to listen but still couldn't help but reveal a blank expression.

A genius!

I'm kneeling!

At this moment, Camer suddenly remembered how Sheila had initially addressed Long Xun.

Dr. Dragon!

Don't let his slaying zombies fool you; he's a PhD, a PhD!

As someone who used to be a poor student, my knees are really sore...

Camer chuckled twice, then bravely continued his topic: "Brother Long, if communications are restored in J City, will the government come to rescue people?"

"I don't know." Long Xun lowered his eyelids slightly, his expression calm, which made him appear extremely indifferent.

They coldly observe the struggles of all living beings in this world, as if they were gods.

But his words carried a different warmth: "If someone comes, go to a safe place."

"Why am I the only one? What about you?" Camer asked.

“Only you are human.” Long Xun changed his posture and sat up straight, his back ramrod straight, as if he would never relax.

Camer's mind went blank for a moment; he couldn't fathom the meaning of Long Xun's words.

What does "only..." mean?

He accepted that angelically beautiful woman who could transform herself into a cannon and a bird-man. He accepted that the ferocious child, Yin Chen, didn't seem like a normal person. He accepted that too. He accepted that the man dressed in ancient costume running around doing apocalyptic livestreams, who had horns and a tail and wasn't human, and who brought along a talking snake and an incredibly strong hamster… He accepted that too.
