Chapter 77 The Dragon of the Mermaid World (Part 22)

Since Long Xun went missing, the Mysterious Bar has been closed for two days.

They had no choice but to close down. Long Xun's sudden disappearance plunged the mermaids at the Mystic Bar into a prolonged period of low morale. No one was in the mood to continue working under these circumstances, and Jiu Li was even less inclined to open the shop.

Mermaids love their cubs. Long Xun, the little dumpling, is well-behaved and obedient, never making a fuss. He has a serious yet adorable expressionless face. He has lived with them for half a year. Even Xi Hua, Yue Ye Ling, and Li Qi, who are not often at the bar, like him. Not to mention Jiu Li, Lan Qi, and Ka Sai, who live at the bar.

Even though Dongjun is an outsider, he has taken over the task of feeding Longxun since his arrival. It seems that one of the greatest joys of his life is taking care of children. Whenever Longxun is in the same scene as him, Dongjun is always the one silently taking care of the little dumpling. How could his feelings for Longxun not be deep?

Among these mermaids, the only two with cold and aloof personalities are Leng Xiang and Jiu Xiao. One is depressed because she hasn't won over her partner yet, so she doesn't dare to speak casually. The other is troubled by her important family member and her prospective partner whom she has just begun to understand, so she also follows suit and is cautious in her words and actions.

In such a lifeless environment, what's the point of keeping a bar open?

These mermaids were just a little down, but what really worried them was Yin Chen.

Beside the bed where Long Xun had vanished in the silver light, Yin Chen knelt, leaning over the edge, burying his face in his hands, motionless and silent, as if even his breathing had stopped.

His once beautiful, smooth black short hair had now grown to his waist, and was a very aged silver-gray, with stray strands of hair that hadn't completely faded from black. Just looking at it made him look extremely disheveled.

His hair was still growing at a very slow rate that could be seen with the naked eye.

His once soft and clear golden fishtail has now become as thick and dazzling as gold. In the shimmering light, one can clearly perceive the power contained within that tail.

Beside Yin Chen, Ye Ling sang softly. Her melodious and soothing singing echoed in the room. There were no lyrics, only the melody she hummed, ethereal and gentle, like the ocean that nurtures and sustains everything.

That is the song of the shallow-sea mermaid, which has been passed down since ancient times and possesses the power of healing and guidance.

It was this song that soothed the ancient mermaid who had closed off his own world, allowing Yin Chen to fall into a peaceful slumber.

As the final, melodious high note slowly faded away, Ye Ling glanced at the golden-tailed mermaid lying on the edge of the bed. A hint of heaviness appeared in her light blue, gentle, and harmless eyes, like those of a lamb.

Even when she was asleep, Yin Chen's hair continued to grow abnormally.

Quietly leaving the room, Kasai leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, his brows furrowed, his eyes fierce, and his lips tightly pressed together. His face was full of displeasure and displeasure, as if he was about to grab a knife and rush out to kill a few petty scoundrels.

Upon seeing Ye Ling emerge, Kasai immediately straightened up and asked in a low, menacing voice, "Is he still not ready?"

Ye Ling shook her head slightly, her expression somber: "I'm...I'm sorry, I can't calm him down, I can only let him fall asleep."

“What’s the point? Even in his sleep, his life is slipping away rapidly! In just the last two days, he has already grown to look like an ancient mermaid who is two thousand years old, and his hair has turned white abnormally… If this continues, he might not even live for ten more days,” Kasai said in a low voice.

Mermaids are uniquely blessed creatures. For most of their long lives, their appearance and physical abilities remain at their peak, like that of young adults. Only in the ten days leading up to their death do their hair turn gray, wrinkles appear around their eyes, and their appearance become more like that of a middle-aged human, showing maturity and vicissitudes rather than old age. However, their physical abilities will reach new heights.

Yin Chen's hair turned gray, which proved that Kasai's statement was correct. If he continued to wallow in his despair, he would indeed not live for more than ten days.

"Kasai".

A serious, rigid male voice came from behind. Ye Ling and Ka Sai turned around and saw Xi Hua Yue swimming over in a silver-gray stand-up collar trench coat.

The appearance of polar mermaids is somewhat like that of ice sculptures. Even the color of their eyes is as if they are covered with a layer of ice. For example, Leng Xiang's eyes are ice blue, while Xi Hua Yue's are ice green. Their skin is also as white as ice and snow.

This appearance also makes them seem cold and unapproachable.

Of course, the icy coldness of Leng Xiang, who is completely unlike a living creature, is still a peculiar phenomenon among polar mermaids.

After swimming over, Xi Huayue glanced at Ye Ling indifferently and said, "He did his best."

Kasai scoffed lightly and said indifferently, "I didn't blame him."

"Captain, thank you." Ye Ling gave Xi Huayue a grateful smile.

Xi Huayue did not answer, but simply said, "Don't make a scene here, go downstairs."

Watching Xi Huayue turn and leave again, Kasai shook his head helplessly and slowly followed after her with Ye Ling.

All his friends have found their sweethearts, and they're all keeping their relationships with each other, except for him. As a single guy, Kasai really wants to freeze them all and make them into specimens…

Ye Ling looked at Xi Huayue's retreating figure with a bit of embarrassment and whispered, "Kasai, do you think... the captain dislikes me a little?"

"Is your head full of sand? How could you think like that?"

“Huh? No, I mean, you see, when I talk to the captain, he never really pays attention to me…” Ye Ling scratched his head in a bit of annoyance: “Every time I’m piloting the Pingyao, he rarely gives me direct orders, it’s like he doesn’t want to talk to me at all.”
