Chapter 89 The Dragon of the Mermaid World (Part 33)

Lan Che tucked his hands into his sleeves, gazing at the distant battlefield.

He couldn't actually see anything, but the blood spreading in front of him gradually stained the seawater red, and the seawater that entered his body with each breath carried a viscous, fishy smell like rust, which showed how fierce the battle was.

His delicate, youthful face held an angelic expression of compassion, as if his long, pale golden hair, shimmering with a soft glow, lay cascading down his back, rippling gently in the water with the slightest movement.

Beside this beautiful young mermaid, whose beauty would make any living being want to smile at him, stood a group of burly and ferocious sea monsters, each over six meters tall.

Tentacles waving, a muscular upper body, eyes bulging from their sockets, a head that droops back to the nape of the neck, and a gaping maw.

This should have been a source of worry for the fish, a fear that the frail young mermaid surrounded by sea monsters would be torn apart and devoured. Yet, the sight of the sea monsters bowing their heads, bending their bodies, and looking at the young mermaid with respect and fervor seemed utterly bizarre.

Even more incredibly, the number of sea monsters in their stronghold seemed far too great, abnormally so. They were even continuing to gather in the sea areas they had already conquered.

"Cough cough..."

Amidst a soft cough, a trickle of blood oozed from the corner of Lan Che's mouth, slowly dissipating into the seawater.

Amidst the dense swarm of sea monsters, a black line nimbly darted through the gaps between them, arriving at Lan Che's shoulder. With a single open mouth, it sucked away the tiny bit of blood Lan Che had spat out.

Black Dragon smacked his lips and said, "Tsk tsk tsk, you really went all out, supporting such a huge time barrier and still daring to fight on the front lines."

The Time Barrier separates the interior from the exterior, where time flows at different rates. Some of these sea monsters remain inside, specifically tasked with creating the next generation.

What lasts for thousands of years within the Time Barrier is but a fleeting moment in the outside world.

Countless sea monsters emerge from there every moment, just like a base for building troops in a game. These sea monsters, who grow up within the time barrier established by Lan Che, all treat his commands as divine pronouncements, and are born to be tools at his beck and call.

Unless the time barrier can be destroyed, sea monsters will continue to be created in this way.

Lan Che smiled gently, turned his head slightly, and stretched out his hand in front of him: "Let me see your injury."

The black dragon nimbly circled around his hand, raised its head high, and said, "Never mind, my injury is nothing serious, no need to worry. Looking at you, you should take care of yourself first."

"Heh, worried? You're overthinking it. You're just more valuable when you're intact." Lan Che's fingertip mysteriously touched the black dragon's body. The black dragon shuddered and froze in mid-air. Visible, invisible waves spread throughout its body, while Lan Che's face turned even uglier, looking like that of a dead fish.

After Lan Che withdrew his hand, the black dragon suddenly roared, and its small body suddenly swelled up, instantly shoving away countless sea monsters.

The surge only stopped when his body stretched for a thousand meters. His dull black scales quickly faded, falling off piece by piece and into the seabed. Another layer of bright dragon scales broke through his flesh and covered his entire body in black.

Having fully recovered from his injuries, the black dragon lowered his massive head, his scarlet vertical pupils fixed on the tiny mermaid with a complex expression. He said somewhat irritably, "Do you want to die? Damn it, I told you not to worry about me, this little injury won't kill you! I'm a dragon! A dragon! Do you understand?"

“Of course I understand.” Lan Che smiled, his smile was so deceptive, gentle and harmless: “I won’t die either. At least, I won’t die before those mermaids.”

The black dragon slowly descended to the seabed, its two giant claws gripping the rocks. When it raised its head, its enormous, crimson vertical pupils, as large as two small buildings, were aimed directly at the tiny young mermaid.

After a long silence, the black dragon suddenly said, "Besides revenge, haven't you thought of anything else?"

The black dragon's hoarse, sinister voice surprisingly softened at this moment. Once the brutality was gone, one could tell his voice was deep, resonant, and slightly nasal—a truly weighty quality: "If back then, our child were still alive..."

Long Xun, who had been tracking the Black Dragon, silently succumbed to his fears.

Why would he hear about this family dispute...?

"Heh~!" Lan Che chuckled lightly, his eyes still closed, calmly saying, "It was just a mistake one night. I told you before, the moment I found out about that bastard, I had already aborted it. Didn't you see his corpse?"

Black Dragon was somewhat lost in thought: "...Yes..."

It was extremely small, and like Lan Che, it looked like a mermaid.

"Stop thinking about anything else and continue with your mission. If that silver dragon appears, go and stop it, understand?" Lan Che said gently.

Having overheard some gossip, Long Xun silently buried himself in the sand, just like a mantis shrimp, completely unnoticed by the fish. Before they knew it, they hadn't noticed that the black dragon had already escaped.

The black dragon snorted listlessly, flicked its tail, and floated to the surface of the sea. Its vertical pupils, now blazing with ferocious flames, gazed towards the eastern district.

He was very unhappy.

So let's go kill a few mermaids to cheer ourselves up!

"Awooo—!"

Amidst a high-pitched and ferocious dragon roar, the black dragon, like a rolling dark cloud, headed into the distance. Just as it approached the battlefield, it plunged into the water, took a deep breath, and exhaled its dragon breath.

During his fight with Long Xun, his dragon breath was always forced to shut up before it could even be fully prepared. He bit his tongue several times and swallowed several bursts of dragon breath, which caused his stomach to churn and almost gave him diarrhea. In that case, he would have truly been beaten to a pulp.
